Blaine nodded slowly in acknowledgement of Andion's words. She couldn't believe that he would let her off that easy, but she definitely wasn't going to argue.
"I'll, uh, see you later, I guess," she said when they reached the gates.
“Yeah,” He paused for a moment, “Do.. do you want to um… do you want to train with me t-tomorrow?” Andion asked, mentally kicking himself for stuttering like an idiot.
"Um… I don't see why not," Blaine said with a shrug. "Sure?"
“Great! I’ll see you then.” He said, giving her a smile before walking to his room.
"Yeah, see you then," Blaine murmured to Andion's retreating form. She shook her head as she made her way to her room.
Andion was at the training ring at dawn the next morning, working with another couple of the boys who were also there.
Why do I care so much about this all of a sudden?!? Blaine wondered as she checked her hair one last time before heading to the training area.
When she arrived, she saw Andion practicing with a couple of other guys. She cleared her throat and put a hand on her hip, tapping her foot.
Andion looked over at her for a moment, smiled before finishing sparing with the boys. After talking to them for a few moments, they cleared off, glancing at Blaine a few times before they were gone.
“Hey there.” He said, walking over to her.
"Hey," Blaine said, giving Andion a nod and a slight smile. "You ready to spar?"
“Sure thing, weapons or no?” He asked.
"Let's use the long swords," Blaine suggested. "Unless you'd rather not?"
"Long swords sounds perfect." Andion replied, swinging the one he already had in his hand.
"All right," Blaine said as she went to grab her own sword. She made her way back to Andion, giving the weapon a couple of test swings on her way.
Andion stepped into the ring, "First one to forfeit or leave the marked area," He indicated to the line in the shape of a circle, "Loses."
Blaine nodded once. "Got it. Ready when you are."
"Ready? And… begin!" Andion swung at Blaine's right side.
Blaine dodged the swung and countered by swinging her own sword at Andion's legs.
Why has she picked long swords? They had never been her best, and she never used them, either. She should have just picked hand to hand.
Andion jumped to avoid the attack and fake swung at her right side again but at the last second switched to the left.
Blaine hissed as she moved to avoid the first swing but got caught by the second. She jabbed at Andion's stomach in retaliation.
Andion jumped backwards, the sword just snagging on his shirt and ripping the fabric, "I liked this shirt."
"Sorry. Hazards of a sword fight, I suppose," Blaine said with a smirk. She swung at his left arm this time.
Andion winced when the sword connected with his arm. He hissed and swung at her legs.
Blaine stepped back but tripped over her own feet. She cursed as she fell on her back.
Andion pointed his sword at her, resting the tip gently on her skin, "Do you give?"
"No," Blaine said, glaring up at him before she swiped at his legs with her own sword.
