I'll start//
The manor was quiet as Kura walked softly down the sunlight halls. Her steps were brisk and light as she paused in front of her mistresses door. She takes a deep breath before entering. "Good morning, young mistress. Rest well?" She asks as she opens the curtains, her eyes gazing at the courtyard below them. She walks to the closet, picking out the clothes needed for the day. "Busy Schedule today. Much work to be done." She sets the clothes down and pours the morning tea. She hums faintly before glancing back at her mistress.
Maradeth stretches prettily, yawning.
"As usual, nothing but night terrors." She took a sip of her tea.
Kura glances at her. "If you wish I could talk to the Doctor about some sort of medication?" She asks curiously. She brushes some dust off her dress. "We also have guests this afternoon. I hope that's alright." She says, looking around the room and analyzing what she would need to clean.
"Medicine has never done anything for them." Maradeth waved her hand in a flippant way.
"As for the guests, I remember." She sipped her tea again. The warm steam wafted around her face, gently caressing her curly locks.
She glances at the other before walking briskly towards the vanity and setting out the jewelry for the day before looking at the clock. "Shall we." She motions her head towards the dress. "We must get ready for the day. It's a long day ahead of us." She says, gazing at the other.
Maradeth gracefully swung off of the bed and stood by the vanity, waiting for Kura to dress her.
Kura grabbed the dress with gloved hands and gently removes her nightdress and then helps the other get dressed, a small smile on her lips. "Well then, young mistress. What jewelry today?" She asks curiously as she tightens the dress gently.
"The emerald necklace. The simple one." Maradeth never liked wearing large necklaces, only enough to draw the eye to her face, not her chest. She was embarrassed, a young lady who hadn't filled out yet.
Kura nods and gently grabs the necklace before setting it around her neck. She brushed Maradeth's hair before gently braiding it. She hesitates before saying, "There was a letter from her Highness." She hands the letter to the other. "There's been another murder. Third one this week."
"It seems we might actually have to look into it." Maradeth sighed.
"Cousin always did turn to me for help."
(I am so sorry! I took a break from Notebook due to school and Mental Health. If you would like to continue, please tell me.)
(I wouldn't mind continuing, but I understand if you don't want to.)
( I would love to)
Kura nods at Maradeths words before carefully finishing off the braid and opening the letter for her. She hums faintly as she walks to the bed to make it. She glances at Maradeth before looking back at the bed, tucking the sides in neatly.
Maradith glanced down at the letter. The victim was the same as the rest; young, pregnant blonde. The child found a few feet away. An image of it was included.
"Tis a shame. They ripped a perfectly fine dress."
"Indeed, mistress. Shall I prepare a carriage, and search for clues?" Kura's long black hair ran neatly down her back. She glanced around and sighed softly.
"Yes, I suppose so." Maradith looked in the mirror. She touched her chest, where she knew her contract mark was. She stood.
Kura looks towards her mistress and chuckles, "As you wish." She bows faintly before walking out of the room to prepare the carriage. "Do you wish to come with me, mistress?"
"I see no reason not to. Though, I will have to return in time for our visitors." Maradeth stood for a moment, then exited her room.
"Very well." She guides the other to the carriage, helping Maradeth into the carriage. She then walked to the drivers seat and cracked the reins.
Maradeth rearranged her skirts as Kura started to drive them away. She touched her forehead, sighing. The night terror had been the same as always.
Kura rode silently, her mind wandering to her human life. She didn't remember it. No matter how hard she tried. She sighed softly, taking the road towards London.
Maradeth watched the world pass by as they made their way to London. She was quietly contemplating the facts of the murders.
