"Oh please don't." He blurted before he could think about what to say. He sighed softly. "I'm not really a…people person. I would prefer to eat alone."
"Oh please don't." He blurted before he could think about what to say. He sighed softly. "I'm not really a…people person. I would prefer to eat alone."
She paused, surprised. Usually, people would be dying to talk to her. She sighed, slightly frowning. "Well, I guess that's fair. I'll leave you to it, then… Winter." She got up and sat back down in her original seat. 'He's about as cold as his name.' she thought, still observing him through the mirror.
Winter sighed softly. "Better she leaves me alone." He muttered. She had been pretty, but…pretty was dangerous. Everything was dangerous. He ordered his food, waiting.
Astra was coming up with a plan to talk to him again. To make sure that she at least knew something about this mystery of a person. She ordered another drink (alcoholics amirite) and drank it all in one go.
Winter ate his food once it arrived, eating at a moderate pace. To anyone watching, he wouldn't seem to be eating too slow, nor too fast.
"What a dull person…" she mumbled, louder than she realized.
Winter heard her, and almost laughed. She had no idea. He'd been around for longer than anyone else. Had seen oceans rise, empires fall. (we have seen each other through it allll sorry, I'm Hamiltrash, ignore me XD)
(Lol you're fine)
She sighed, ordering another drink. She knew she shouldn't be drinking anymore, but who was gonna stop her? She was still waiting for the opportunity to bump into him
Winter finished his food, and paid. He pulled his coat back on, getting ready to leave. He sighed softly, raking a hand through his hair.
Astra smirked. Now's the time. We'll just accompany him home! (Also?? Where is this is set? I've been imagining it as like Manhattan or something but) She paid for her drinks, got up, turned around and literally bumped into him. "OW!"
Winter stumbled slightly, reaching out a hand to steady her. "You okay?" He asked, realizing he didn't know her name.
(uhmm…Manhattan is fine lol I didn't have a specific location in mind)
(okay cool lol)
"Ow…" She rubbed her head, her eyes closed. "Yeah, I'm fine," she opened her eyes. "Oh. It's you." She frowned when she said the word 'you'. Her eyes traveled down to his hand (idk where that is? her waist maybe? idk-) "What the hell are you doing?!" She flinched backwards and got into a defensive position. "PERV!"
Winter raised his hands. "I was catching you!" He defended himself. "I am not a pervert!" He sighed softly. "Im also not a drunk, unlike some."
"How dare-" she stopped herself, taking a deep breath. "I'm not a drunk. But you are a perv! Trying to feel me up, huh?" She crossed her arms. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't call the cops."
"I am not a perv!" Cops. Shit shit shit. He cursed under his breath. He couldn't afford cops. He could not let his fingerprints get into the system. "I wasn't trying to feel you up!" He protested.
"Why are you getting so defensive then?" She smirked. She was only half aware that it was a mistake, but she was going to drag it out and make a scene. Why, you ask? Why not?
"Because…" He dragged a hand through his hair. "Because I don't need any more problems, like cops, in my life."
"Oh, poor baby," she mocked him and pretended to cry. "I'm sure you-" she hiccuped, "Your life is just so miserable." She was literally swaying back and forth. The alcohol was finally starting to kick in.
Winter sighed. "I don't have time for this." He muttered. "Not for a stupid drunk." He shook his head and turned around, starting to walk away.
Astra scoffed, "Fine, then! Leave. See if I care." When he exited the building, she hurriedly left and followed him from a distance.
Winter kept walking quickly, his white hair a shining beacon in the dim light.
She staggered along behind him, trying to not make too much noise. She had to use the walls for support when she was walking. Not even a few minutes later, she tripped over a rock and fell facefirst to the ground with a loud thud.
Winter jumped at the sound, whirling around, his hand automatically going to the knife tucked in his coat pocket. He stepped cautiously towards the location of the sound, and saw her. "Oh for the love of-" he groaned softly.
Astra started to tear up. Which was understandable, she fell on her knees first, and she always had a problem with them. She looked up at him. "Hi Winter…"
