Jess lookee to the side at the dog in visible confusion. "Wait…this must be her dog or something." He says with a sigh.
He turned to Nikko "okay im gonna carry her to a safer room. This ones too out in the open. Hopefully she wakes up soon." He says with a grunt as he picked her up carefully.
Nikko reached own and held out his hand letting the dog sniff it before petting it gently. "good boy."He turned towards jess and nodded.
"okay, l-lets g-go." He stood up, preparing his stuff to leave.
Soon, after walking around and searching with the girls body in his arms, they stepped into a closed off room that had tables, broken chaors, one sink (hopefully it worked) and a few broken machines, crushed on the floor.
"Hey, can you clear of that one table. We can set her on that and you can stitch her up before he dies." He says notioning towards the metal table closest to them.
"Ill clear this place out and see if that sink works while you work on her to"
He simply nodded to his request, going and cleaning off the table, using a wipe to clear it off. as soon as she was set down he started to stitch her up, going slow and steady before patching up and checking all her other wounds for infection.
"S-sink work? a-also d-dont forget to c-check y-your wound for a-any i-infection or i-infected f-flesh."
He rolled his eyes as he turned the sink on, struggling to. And when it did it squirted him in the face before it started running.
He turned it off and turned back to Nikko as he operated on the girl. He hoped shed make it… he didnt even know her name
He snapped out of his thoughts and started moving the box-like metal machines on the floor to the sides. If a screamer smelled the blood and came in here, he wasnt about to fall down on one of these things and break his back.
"Dont worry about me. Ill be fine. The sink works" he grunted, setting another machine down.
Looking at them, the wires attacked to them and the skits in them, he hadnt seen anything like that. But it was a factory used to make whatever the hell they made back then. This place looked like it had run down even bedore the apocalypse.
"Where was she bleeding out anyway?" He asks looking around the room for any light source. He knew the long glass lights hanging from the ceiling wereny about to turn on.
Well…the ones that werent broken. All electricity had been out for the last year at least. He had his stash of lighters in his back, but that was all the way down on the first floor. And they were on the third. The highest floor.
He huffed at Jess's stubbornness, fixing up the stitching and cleaning the wound before putting a fresh bandages over it and turning back to Jess.
He walked over to Jess and stood in front of him. "I'm going to c-check your w-wound w-whether you like it, or not. D-don't j-just say y-your fine. Y-you a-actually g-got bit." He leaned down and peeled back the bandage to check on his bite,
"s-she was b-bleeding o-out on h-her l-left s-side, she m-must have hit it against s-something o-or gotten it before she e-encountered t-the screamer."
Mocha sniffed around the room, as if trying to make sure there wasn't anything nearby. Satisfied that it was safe, she lay under the table, waiting for Serenity to wake up.
(I know I should probably make it longer, but there's not really much I can do with a dog.)
(Thats totally fine hun! You can have her wake up soon if you want lol. Like we can do a time skip to later on by like a few hours)
Jess pulled back, refusing the medical attention. He was stubborn but he also didnt like people worrying about him. So he didnt let him touch him or the bandage.
"Well it was a cut so it was probably the screamer. Now for me on the other hand, im fine. I can deal with it myself. It wasnt that bad anyway and its not like im gonna turn into one of them or anything" he rolled his eyes
(Shoukd we time skip?)
Serenity slowly blinked open her eyes, finding herself in a strange room. Her eyes widened and she cautiously glanced around. The room was full of tables, some of which were covered in dusty old junk. There were two others in the room, but she couldn't see Mocha anywhere. She slowly tried to sit up, but fell back against the table, letting out a cry as pain shot up her side. A bark came from next to the table as Mocha's face appeared in Serenity's vision.
Jezariah shot up from the ground he was laying on, realizing his leg had fellen asleep, he quickly hit the cold tile floor again before getting back up.
"Hey hey hey now dont sit up. You were dying so we kinda…ya know fixed ya back up" he let out an awkward chuckle.
"Thw stitches are still a bit fresh and we didnt have any numbing pain so its still gonna hurt a bit. Dont worry your pups safe" he smiled at her
(I'm thinking of trying again to add in my character, it seems like I chose the wrong place to jump in last time lol. Can she come find you guys as well?)
(Yeah thats totally fine! Dont overthink it! We're just here to have fun! Not to judge. Add your character im however you want, as long as it follows the guidelines (you can be as dramatic as you wsnt too lol. I live for that stuff XD)
He noticed her sitting up and then laying back down with a cry of pain.
"Ah- u-um, i w-wouldnt s-sit up y-yet." He spoke softly walking over to her, and flashing her a small smile.
"L-like he s-said, y-your d-dog i-is okay, and r-rather a-adorable." he spoke softly still.
"Yeah, okay." Serenity said, nodding. "No sitting up. Got it." She held up her hand in a sort of wave. "Nice to meet you. Thanks for, you know, saving my life and all." She gave the guy a grin. "Name's Serenity, and this is Mocha." She gave the dog a pat on the head. "And you are…?"
"Y-your w-welcome." he smiled softly at her before going down to pet mocha.
"I-its n-nice to m-meet you as w-well Serenity, M-my n-names n-nikko.." he turned his face towards her once again having soft smile on his face.
He looked to Nikko then the dog before his gaze met the girls again. "Im.Jezariah. call me.Jess though" he says sitting back down against the wall. "Sorry about the whole almost dying thing" he says, sounding more like a statement than an apology as he looked up to the ceiling before closing his eyes.
(okay I finally figured out how to set this up lol)
Nina was dangerously close to starvation.
The need for food hadn't seemed that urgent until a few days ago, but when the hunger hit, it was so intense that she almost couldn't walk. Her original supplies had been lost in a screamer attack, and she'd been forced to leave her hiding place on the far end of town and go searching for something, anything, that was edible.
At first, she was optimistic. She had plenty of water, and the town was mostly deserted. There had to be some canned food or wild plants nearby, she thought. But as one day passed without finding food, then another, she began to realize that soon she wouldn't have the strength to keep looking. It was frightening to realize how easily she could die out here.
She tried hunting for food, but she was a softhearted person who avoided killing, and this meant she was out of practice using her bow and arrows. Despite her persistence, the few rabbits she found all escaped with their lives. At that point, she was beginning to get very desperate.
So when she entered an abandoned building and heard voices, she didn't think twice. Drawing her knife and forgetting she didn't know how to fight, she staggered up the stairs and burst into the room, leveling her weapon at the three young people sitting there.
"Give me something to eat," she demanded, her voice and limbs trembling. "Now."
Serenity was tempted to try to sit up again at the sound of the girl's threat, but she thought against it. Instead, she moved her hand across the rest of the table, searching for a weapon or something to defend herself with. Mocha growled, already on her feet, and with her fur bristling. The dog bared her teeth and let out a series of angry barks.
Jez popped up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. "Woah woah woah there. How bout you ask nicely. Ive got a few cans of beans and raviolis for ya but put the knife down" he says standing up and slowly coming towards the girl. It was obvious she was starving and was losing control. But he wasnt about to let this chick waltz in with a knife demanding for dome food.
Nina saw the growling dog, and the obviously-not-terrified reactions of the others, and nearly lost her nerve. She knew there was no way she'd be able to actually hurt any of them. But she was still hungry, and wasn't sure if they would really help her.
"I don't care what you give me. W-whatever you can spare is fine." She took a step back and lowered her knife, but only slightly. "I'll–I'll leave you alone after that. I don't want any trouble." She hoped her fear and exhaustion weren't totally obvious.
Jess sighed and stepped toward her after grabbing a can of some sort of beef soup out of his bag. He rolled it over to her and waited for her to drop the knife. She was still dangerous.
"No. Please stay. We wanna help you the best we can. And its safer to stick in groups around here anyway. Just…dont stab me" he smiled
Nina picked up the can and held it close. She stared at Jess for a minute longer, her strength wavering, then slumped with relief. "I could never. It—it was just a bluff." She laughed weakly, sitting down at the top of the stairs so she could figure out how to open the can. "I'm sorry I threatened you…..I don't know what came over me. Honestly, I'd rather not be alone either." It didn't really occur to her that the strangers might not be safe. At the first sign of friendliness from them, she trusted them immediately. "I'm Nina Drafter, by the way. Who are you guys?"
He waved shyly at the new girl. "N-nikko..are y-you hurt a-anywhere?"
"Hi Nikko," Nina said, returning the smile as she finally pried open the can. "Hurt? Oh…..no, I'm fine, just hungry. But thank-you." Digging through her backpack, she found a metal spoon and started devouring the cold soup as if it was the best thing she'd ever tasted. "I'm glad I didn't actually attack any of you. You seem like very nice people. Actually, you're the first humans I've seen in a long time. Are you new in town?"
