Glaring at him, she sat on her small cot. Lata let out a dark laugh. "Aha, yeah, sure! Name one place that would hire a impoverished magic user," she deadpanned, rolling her eyes. Man, he did seem dense. Fiddling with the hem of her shirt, she thought of ways to get rid of him by force if necessary.
"Again, just leave," she said, her voice sounding less harsh than just a moment ago.
"No!" He exclaimed, flinching at his own emotion "I'm either going to have to walk around without shoes for the rest of the year, or I'm going to have to…." His voice petered off, bitterness keeping him from finishing the words. "Well, it won't be pleasent. I really need the money. I know it won't be easy, but there's nothing else for me to do."
Laughing darkly, she stood up, walking closer to him until she was only inches away.
"Nothing else for you to do? Don't act so pathetic! You don't have any understanding of how hard it is to be like me!" she exclaimed, poking him in the chest.
"You get to live in some fancy house, having a nice bed and warm meals every day! Here, you're lucky if you get anything to eat at all. You get lucky to find anything. Stop being such a whiny baby and go back to wherever you came from. I could care less about your damned shoes," she hissed, stepping back out of his face.
Hayden felt himself get annoyed. Nevermind the fact that she may be right, he was doing something damnit. A streetrat like her could never comprehend how badly it hurt to lose the love of your parents. She probably didn't even have parents. "Look, I get that your life is hard, but I really don't gave a shit. Get me money for my shoes, or I'm going to call in special forces and let them take care of you and your stupid slum. You really don't want to mess with a York. If you can't get a job, I'll get you a job at my parents house. I'll be back tomorrow." He jumped out the window, letting his breezes catch him on the way down. When he was sure he'd left her hearing range he shouted. "FUCK YOU LADY"
She scowled at the window where he left from. She then let the tears she was holding back flow. Curling up on her cot, she began crying. She hated her life. She hated that boy. She hated society.
The boy didn't care in the slightest, and it infuriated her, despite already knowing he wouldn't. He now knew where to find her too. She was stuck. Stuck in this horrible debt, all over some stupid shoes. Highly doubting he could get her a job with his parents, she continued to cry silently. Lata felt like not existing.
