"That's one of my favorites." Nate laughed. "Which song is your favorite to play on the piano?"
"That's one of my favorites." Nate laughed. "Which song is your favorite to play on the piano?"
“I don’t know. They’re all fun in they’re own unique way.” Jason started thinking though every song he could think of the see if one stuck out. None of them did.
"I totally get that. People ask me what our favorite song of ours to play is and I just can't decide. They're all just too much fun to play!" Nate nodded in understanding.
“It’s always changing. Sometimes it’s the one I’m currently learning or sometimes I hate the one I’m learning because I play it so often.” Jason laughed as he looked at Nate.
"That makes sense. Sometimes you just don't feel like playing something over and over again, even if it means it'll sound better. It just gets so boring." Nate laughed along with Jason.
Jason leaned closer to Nate before whispering. “I’d say thats my least favorite part of band. Only because we play it over and over.”
"That's true. 'One more time' never actually means one more time." Nate laughed
“Yeah.” Jason looked around the room again. “Do you think that we’ll actually get to start class today?”
"Probably at some point." Nate laughed again as he looked around the room. "We just have to wait for everyone else to finish getting their instruments out."
“It doesn’t typically take long… right? I mean my instrument is almost always set up so I wouldn’t know…” Jason smiled.
"It just depends on the instruments. The woodwinds take longer because they have reeds that they need to get wet but the brass only have to put their mouthpieces on their instrument and maybe put a slide in if they play trombone. Other than that, it shouldn't be too much longer." Nate replied, looking around at some of the other band people.
Jason shrugged. “Yeah. If I have the time to move a piano, then they have time to Putin their mouth pieces. Even if it is the first day and everyone is seeing each other for the first time…”
Nate laughed really hard at what Jason said. "Yeah, I guess your right." He said as he continued to laugh.
Jason looked up to the clock. “Class is almost over… we must have been moving the piano for a while.” Jason laughed as he pointed up to the clock across the room.
Nate shrugged, "Usually the first day is just kinda fooling around and the next few days are for rules before we actually start learning the music."
“Yeah. That’s how it normally is in chorus. Have you taken chorus before?” Jason turned his head to look at Nate
"No, but I was in the show choir band last year. That was okay but I don't think I'll be doing that again this year." Nate explained.
“That sounds like an interesting time…” Jason laughed slightly.
"Yeah, it was less practicing and more fooling around with the trumpets and trombones. That's what made it entertaining." Nate laughed, remembering the jokes from last year.
“Why didn’t you do it again this year?” Jason started fiddling with his foot on the floor
"I dunno." Nate shrugged again. "I guess I have too much going on this year to be able to do it this year. Besides, I'm auditioning for a few other groups and probably won't have time to do anything with the choir band again."
Jason perked up. “What are you trying out for?”
"All-state, the local orchestra, and a few other honor bands. You should try out for some of them too." Nate said excitedly.
Jason laughed a little at the thought. “I’ve never done band before and you suggest I tryout for advanced bands and stuff. I’m not sure how well I would actually do.”
"Eh, you might do really well." Nate shrugged and smiled. "You never know."
