(Legend, later: So, uh, why didn't you bring the nice sword into the con?
Lani: That's a Crime and I don't want to go to jail
All of The Boys: ????)

Legend was careful as well, and he noticed and appreciated the way Lani respected the weapon. A certain someone could learn from her, that was for sure. Slowly, he turned it over in his hands, examining the sword closely. There were some slight differences this blade and the actual Master Sword, but those were very small and insignificant. And the actual quality of the blade… yes, someone had put a lot into this sword. Unfortunately, the author doesn't know jack shit about the fine details of swords and sword-smithing, but Legend did and was impressed with its quality. "This is… yeah, wow. Whoever forged this put a lot of care into it," he commented, carefully running his finger along the edge to test the sharpness. It came away cut, but Legend hadn't let it draw blood. Pretty sharp… it's been well-maintained for something that hasn't seen combat.

(XD)

This author didn't either, thus we will let it pass as a 'the characters know trust us' moment. Lani watched as Legend examined the sword, smiling some when she saw he still had no negative reaction to it. Drake moved over to her side, hand on her shoulder. They themselves gave a disapproving look, shaking their head once. Lani offered a small smile in turn, looking back as Legend spoke.
"I'm glad to hear that," she said, smiling as she looked down at her sword. She knew that even if she didn't know how to fight with one, which she didn't, she could cause some serious damage with this if need be. There was always that fear, in the back of her mind, but she pushed it aside. He wasn't coming back. He'd promised.
"I've had it for about a year now," Lani explained, still smiling fondly. It obviously meant a lot to her.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Legend smiled. "You've obviously taken great care of it in that time." He chuckled. "Honestly, Wild could stand to learn from you." The Veteran held the sword out for Lani to take back. "But…" Legend's smile faded, and he sighed. "I wanted to apologize to both of you for that… well, 'tangent' would be putting it lightly. About that toy sword." Goddess, saying it out loud made him feel even more shame–he'd seriously ranted about a fucking children's toy like it was a big deal? What the hell was wrong with him? "It… I shouldn't have said what I did, and I'm sorry for being an asshole about something so stupid."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lani giggled some as well as she took the sword back.
"Yes, I do believe he could…" She was moving to put the sword back in its place, pausing when Legend continued to talk. She wasn't facing him, which was good. It hid the shock she couldn't keep behind her sweet wall she had up.
"I… Thank you," she said softly, putting the sword back in its place. She turned around, her smile soft and genuine now.
"It's alright, though, really."

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Legend… highly doubted that it was alright. He knew what he'd seen and knew he did the same thing. Still, he said nothing about it. Lani has as much of a right to keep whatever secrets she had hidden as he did his, after all.

Well. After finding out that Hyrule was a place that existed in stories in this world and that Lani enjoyed "cosplaying" as the Heroes, he wasn't entirely certain how many secrets he still had, but that was a question for another time.

After an awkward moment of not knowing what to say, Legend settled on, "If you say so."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Very, very few. Especially once Lani found out just which of the games he had been in, and what all happened to him. If it was in a game, chances were she knew. Now, most games were more focused on the action than the trauma caused by said action, but she could only guess at how much it had affected all of them.

Lani nodded when Legend spoke again, still offering her small smile. Drake managed a look of indifference as the two spoke, not saying a word on it. They could be quite silent, when they needed or wanted to be, and Legend would need a god's help to get Drake to talk.
Then again, if a god showed up, Drake would more likely curl up on the ground in a fetal position than actually talk.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

An exclamation of "Wh– Is that–?! Sidon?!" sounded from the living room. Legend thanked whatever gods this world had for breaking the awkward moment–at least, for him.

Should they go to investigate, Wild would be found staring in shock at a poster of a certain Zora prince giving the viewer a sparkling smile against a yellow backdrop, with a speech bubble at the top. He didn't understand the words inside of it, but they read "You Can Do It!" in English.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lani's face went red as soon as she heard the exclamation. What poster was it that Wild was looking at? Which one?? This was a very important question to find the answer to, but Lani was also extremely embarrassed and not sure she was able to go out there and face Wild. Drake chuckled some, looping their arm in Lani's to pull her out of the room.
"Oh, no," they said, laughing some, "You've made your bed, now lay in it!" Lani was almost as red as the Zora in the poster by the time she was dragged out to where Wild and the poster were.
"M-Maybe..?" She said.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Legend stifled a chuckle at Lani's red face and followed her and Drake out to the living room. He stood back with his arms crossed, wearing an amused expression. Wild turned around, confusion clear on his face. "Why… do you have a picture of a Zora prince in your house…?" he asked.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"She likes him," Drake said as they let go of Lani's arm.
"Not that way!" She clarified quickly, glaring daggers at Drake and the very obvious tone they were using to say otherwise.
"She has tons of pictures of him," They continued with a smirk. "Absolutely obsessed-" Drake laughed as Lani hit their chest, pushing her hands away from them.
"I am not!!" Lani protested her face red as the poster still.
"Oh, you should see the posters she put away," Drake teased, only to hop back on one foot as Lani smashed the other with her heel.
"S-SHUT-" Lani stuttered out.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Wild's own ears reddened at that statement. "I-I'm not sure I want to, but t-thanks?" He seemed to suddenly find the hem of his tunic rather interesting and hid behind his long hair once again. Legend's amused smirk widened. Part of him wished he had something to chip in–harmless teasing like this was always entertaining.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well," Drake said, taking a few half hops back out of Lani's range, "There in that clos-" Lani had thrown at pillow at Drake before they were able to finish their sentence and point to the offending closet, still red as a cherry.
"Drake I'm going to lock you out of the house if you k-keep this up," Lani hissed, the sound muffled by the hands that had returned to her face. She needed to get all of the posters down, now.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

"I-if it makes you feel any better, I–you're not the only one that li–" Wild's attempt to offer any kind of 'help' was cut short as he realized that he was digging his own hole as well. He looked to Legend for help, rapidly turning the same shade of red as the other Hero's tunic.

Legend shook his head with a laugh. "Affairs of the heart aren't my specialty, sorry." His smile grew almost wicked. "Though… well, I wouldn't be able to help you out there, either, but this looks like it may deal more with other areas, if you know what I mean."

Goddess, the look on Wild's face was absolutely priceless.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lani's head moved up when Wild spoke, one of her eyes peeking out from between her fingers. Wait, did he mean-?! Now they were both a solid shade of red, Drake moving themself over to sit on the couch. They laughed some, folding their legs so they could still nurse the foot that Lani had smashed.

The look on Lani's face at Legend's words was also priceless. She took a deep breath, moving over to the wall to hide all the evidence of anything before any of the others came out to notice.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Legend laughed. "Hey, at least you've got good taste–between this guy and Her Highness, I'd say you've got your eyes on all the right people," he joked. Wild buried his face in his hands and groaned. Legend was almost certain that if he walked up to the other Hero and put a hand to his face, it'd come away burnt from the heat of his blush.

When Lani started to take down the posters, a thought crossed his mind that caused his smile to flicker a little bit. Had Warriors seen them? Legend had been too caught up in his own shit that he wasn't sure if the Captain had reacted in any way at all. Though… well, he was with Time right now, and the Old Man seemed to know at least something about whatever was going on. It'd be fine, yeah.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lani would have agreed, most times, if it wasn't for the fact she too was embarrassed by the entire situation. She rolled the posters up as quickly as she could without damaging them, sticking them under one arm. There weren't many up, thankfully, so she was able to get most of them down in the first load. She took them to her room, not willing to give away what closet she stored them in and potentially let Legend and Wild see just what all was inside. She came back out to get the rest, only to find Drake was up doing it for her. She let out a breath, managing to calm down some.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Wild chuckled, and he started to lose a little bit of his blush. "Sorry for, uh, calling attention to that," he apologized with a chuckle. "I guess I was just… surprised?" The Champion rubbed the back of his neck. "I-it looked nice, though!" Wild looked away for a second, then looked back at Lani. "Um. What did it say, though? It looked like it was in another language."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"It's alright," Lani said, managing a small smile to Wild. Drake took the posters they had to Lani's room, glancing over their shoulder once to check and make sure Lani was okay.
"Say? Oh, it said 'You can do it.' It was, ah, a replica of a more well known poster with Sidon instead of the original person. It's mostly for motivation…" Lani blushed softly as she admitted this, just a touch embarrassed. At least she wasn't as embarrassed as before.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Wild laughed softly. "Yeah, he's definitely the right person for something like that…" Wild said. There was fondness in his tone that caused bittersweet memories to surface in Legend's mind. He really didn't need to be a part of this lovey-dovey shit.

"I'm gonna go check up on the others," he said, turning away to head back to the bedrooms. "I think Sky might've passed out or something."

(I'm kind of running out of stuff for right now dksaknv do we want to skip to night? If we do, do we want to introduce the two characters we talked about or do the one thing with you-know-who first?)

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lni nodded in turn, holding back her own laugh. Even if she never spoke of anyone that way herself, really, she recognized the feeling.
"Ah, okay," she said, looking over as Legend spoke. Drake was heading out of Lani's room, glancing at Legend on their way before coming over to Lani's side.

(I think a skip to night would be good, and I think the two characters should come first)

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(Me: Yeah I'm rapidly running out of ideas)
(Also me: )

When he got to the bedroom, Sky was, in fact, completely out on the bed. Legend snorted, not entirely surprised, and walked over. "Idiot, you'll choke yourself if you wear this to bed," he chided softly, moving to untie the other's sailcloth and thanking Hylia that he'd at least put the Master Sword away before passing out–he'd fallen asleep with the Sword before, and though he hadn't hurt himself on it yet, a part of Legend worried that someday it would happen. Sky's eyebrows furrowed a bit and he groaned quietly in his sleep, but he didn't wake. His fingers were wrapped tightly around the cloth, so Legend didn't take it away once it was untied and he was certain his companion wouldn't accidentally strangle himself in his sleep.

He could hear the muffled voices of Time and Warriors in the next room over, so the Veteran decided to go check on them as well. "Hey, it's me," he said after knocking.

"Come in, Legend," Time replied. Legend opened the door to find the Old Man sitting on the bed, with Warriors leaning on his side. The Captain looked… well, the polite thing to say would be tired.

"Damn, Cap, you look like hammered horse shit," Legend commented. Warriors blinked and merely grunted in reply, prompting Legend to frown and un-cross his arms. "…What's wrong?" he asked, tone shifting immediately.

Warriors inhaled. "It's just been a long day, full of… unpleasant memories," he replied. Legend's frown deepened, but Time shook his head.

"This is something for us to deal with, don't worry too much about it," he said.

Legend looked away. "Tch. I wasn't worrying about anything," he lied.

(Do you want to do that timeskip now or was there something you wanted to do first?)

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

(XD)
(And I'll do the timeskip aha)

Lani had kept herself busy most of the night, with keeping the house in order. She had managed to avoid Drake and the talk she was sure to get from them if they did ever manage to get her alone. She'd thought about insisting she made dinner, but she let it go before even starting that. She just wanted to make sure she didn't mess this up any more than she had with the sword.
She'd gone to bed exhausted, asleep before Drake had the chance to confront her. This also meant she was in bed much earlier than she normally was, and it had its toll on her. So, around midnight, she'd woken up, parched to the point she understood there was no falling asleep without a drink. She did her best, though, but after about ten minutes she gave up the fight. So, with a soft sound, she sat up, pulling her robe and slippers on before silently making her way out to the kitchen. She grabbed a glass, one of the plain ones Drake had thankfully insisted they buy, and walked over to the sink.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Sky bolted upright in a cold sweat, heart still pounding from his nightmare. He looked around wildly at his very unfamiliar surroundings–had they been captured?–until he remembered the events of the day. They'd been transported to some not-Hyrule and… yes, he was at Lani's house. The others were okay. He was okay.

But… were the others back in Hyrule okay?

Was Sun okay?

With a sigh, Sky pushed himself out of bed. He needed to walk around a bit, calm down. Carefully, so as not to wake them, he stepped around his sleeping companions. Neither of them stirred, thankfully, and he made sure to shut the door as softly as he could.

Looking somewhat like a lost child clutching a favorite blanket to his chest, Sky wandered down the hall with quiet steps and loud thoughts. Worries like this were nothing new to him, but now… well, being in a different time period was bad enough, but an entirely separate world? With what was happening back in Hyrule? It was almost more than he could bear!

Eventually, Sky made his way to the kitchen. He stopped upon seeing that someone else was awake at this time. "Ah, hello, Lani," he greeted, a little surprised that he wasn't the only one up.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Lani's head had come up as she heard quiet footsteps in the hall, looking over. She kept herself from letting out a sigh of relief. It was just Sky. She was okay.
"Hello," she said, offering a small smile. "Hard time sleeping?" She offered the drink in her hand; it was easy enough to get herself another if Sky did take it. She didn't ask why Sky was up, of course. There were plenty of reasons, and she didn't want to pry. Everyone had their story, and everyone told it in their time.
She knew a lot of Sky's, though, but she wasn't going to assume much. She didn't know how he dealt with it, or how he felt. She just knew what happened. When the credits started rolling, her knowledge stopped.

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

"You could say that," Sky replied, accepting the drink. "Thank you." He took a sip, then hesitated before speaking again. "You, um, had said something about knowing about us? Through stories?" Sky looked down for a second, slightly embarrassed. "How… how much do you know about me? If that's not, I don't know, a weird thing to ask?"
