“Nobody knows anything for sure. Legends screw up everything. I swear on… oh, my status Above, that we will not hurt you unless you hurt us first.”
“Nobody knows anything for sure. Legends screw up everything. I swear on… oh, my status Above, that we will not hurt you unless you hurt us first.”
“I’m not going to hurt anyone..” Rose murmured, rubbing at his upper arm.
“Alright, then we won’t either,” Mara said calmly. “What brings you to the surface?”
“I.. don’t know. I woke up over there-,” he said, pointing towards the park, “- and I don’t remember how I got there.
“Ahh. Well, it isn’t the first time. Are you going back?”
Rose thought about it for a moment before slowly shaking his head. “It’s much nicer here..”
“I agree. Don’t hurt anyone, don’t get too close, emotionally, to the humans. You’ll be fine.”
“I wasn’t planning on it..” Rose responded, shifting his wings slightly, red eyes glancing around at people who passed by.
“Yeah. We’ll just.. go now… I guess…” Mara turned Nate around and they walked back through the candy store.
Why wouldn't he want to go back to the Underworld? It must be pretty bad, since Earth isn't really all that great either… Nathaniel walked with Mara, glancing back at Rose. "Did we ever ask his name?"
“Aww, darn it. No. And I need to report him, too… I just won’t mention it,” Mara said.
"Report him? Why? He hasn't done anything, has he?"
“No. Well, not yet, but my ‘boss’, I guess you’d call him, likes to know when demons enter the surface.”
"Oh… okay…" He looked back at the demon again. I don't see why we should have to report him. He's not doing any harm…
Ross wandered off, heading down the street again. He couldn’t help but feel anxious about running into the two angels, though.
“I’m not going to, don’t worry. I always thought that rule was stupid.”
"Okay, that's good. I mean, his business is his business, right? I don't think he's hurting anybody, and he has every right to be here." Nathaniel shrugged. "I doubt that demons report every angel they see, though I don't know much about their systems."
“Yeah.” Mara said lamely.
"So what are we doing now?"
“Dunno. What do you want to do?”
"Um, I don't really know what's around. I don't think I've ever been to Manhattan before."
“Me neither,” Mara said quietly.
Nathaniel looked around. "What do 'normal' kids like?" I think they just watch television or play outside…
“Um. I heard of this thing once… football?”
"Football? I assume that's a… sport? Of some sort?" Sports weren't really his strong suit.
