Answering Nash's thoughts, Joan replied, "Well, Angels never kicked him out. But that doesn't mean he likes them," She hurriedly added. "Actually, he doesn't really like anyone. Best you can get is tolerable."

"….Alright, guess we'll hope he's tolerable today then. Are we close to his house?" Nathaniel didn't see anything that looked remotely like a house anywhere near where they were.

"No," Joan thought for a minute. "Didn't I tell you that its a weeks walk away?" She shifted on her feet uncomfortably. If I didn't say that already Will is going to be an ass about it. She turned back to look at Will; he was just walking there, looking thoughtful.

"Oh… Yeah, right." Nathaniel fell silent. I assume we'll take rests at some point… there's no way she expects us to walk for a straight week nonstop. They'd definitely have to carry me then.

"Have you two ever been camping?" Joan knew Nash probably hadn't. "Under the stars?"

Nathaniel hesitated before nodding slightly. "A few times, with…" With Lloyd, but I haven't since. He cleared his throat and looked away, a faint pink tint rising to his cheeks.
