The door let out a loud and prolongued creak, that echoed in the empty building. There were no lights on, so the room was barely lit by the faint moonlight reaching through the old windows. The entrance hall was empty and silent, with grey stone pillars, discolored floor tiles, the entire atmosphere was dead and still. The remains of the chandelier were covered in cobwebs and so were the light supports. There was very little furniture inside, and the few bits that were there was broken and unusable.

Overall, the room did not look like a good place to sleep in, but at least it was sheltered from the rain that had started outside. The unexpected visitor could stop here if they so desired, yet there was a large set of stairs that led upwards to the next level. Surely a place like this must have at least one bed, even if it was abandoned, no? Even if it didnt, it was still worth exploring, even just a little bit

Andy looked around the room and sighed, it was shitty too. But, their eyes caught the stairs, there had to be one good room in this house, right?
So, they headed up the stairs, thankfull that they were at least a little sturdy.

Thankfully, the stairs were made of stone, so Andy was only surrounded by the sound of the pouring rain outside and the sound of their footsteps on the dusty stone steps. Climbing upwards, there was some remnants of a carpet, probably red in its old days, and several stands along the walls, the object they once held long gone. Once they reached the top of the flight of stairs, they were faced with a decision. Should they go left or should they go right?

The left corridor led to yet another flight of stairs, the rails still intact, with some ornaments still attached to them. The right corridor was identical to the first, only more grim and dark, with the lingering feeling something might be lurking in the darkness it led to

Andy looked at both hallways before deciding to go to the right. It was better to go to the scariest first and get it over with, then they'd head to the left. They blinked a few times and thanked the Great Birds for giving them good eyesight as they walked into the right corridor.

Walking along the grey stone wall, the sound of the pouring rain echoed along the corridor, as the faint light from the moon faded slowly the more Andy walked forward. It would have been interesting to find out why this building had been abandoned, as most things seemed to have been left in place but that was not the priority right now. Bits of the arches had collapsed, for various reasons, partially blocking the path, but with a bit of effort it was possible to get past the rubble.

Once out of the small passage, it opened to what seemed like a long room, with large windows partially covered by tattered covers, with what remained of delicately decorated furniture, such as a table, some bookcases and armchairs, all strewn about and heavily covered in cobweb and dust. A possible living room? It was rather hard to tell, but thats what it looked like.
It was a good find, but they still had to look for the bedroom, or something that wasn't broken at least.
