Haven didn’t sleep at all that night. She knew she should, but the nerves were too much and she instead paced a lot. When it was fully dark, she heard a door click
Arabella clicked the key into the lock and creaked open the door. The guards were passed out down the whole hallway, and she stepped into the cell. "Hello. Are you both awake?"
“I am,” she said, spinning around.
Vaughn looked up from his spot in her corner of the room, eyes wary. He had done his best to stay up, but he felt that he may have drifted off once or twice. His knees were pulled up to his chest loosely, almost like how a child would sit.
"ok. So you have the map.. all you have to do is follow it to get outside and go to wherever you need to go. Don't come back here." she said, stepping out of the cell and letting them pass. "And don't worry, I drugged all of the guards.. they should be asleep for a few more hours."
“Thank you…” Haven said, hesitating on asking her name.
"Call me Bella." she smiled. "I hope we can meet again, just on better circumstances."
“Thank you, Bella,” she said, before rushing off.
She watched them disappear before turning the other way and placing a key in one of the guard's hands. She pulled a black hood from her sweatshirt over her head and returned back to her office to get some work done before the president found out they were gone.

Bella tried to stay awake and actually do some paperwork, but she ended up falling asleep instead. Her head hit the table with a bang but she stayed asleep.

Haven and Vaughn actually escape w o w
(lol. Idk who I'm waiting for, the president, I guess. Maybe they could call Bella Jackie and Kailey to their office or something? idk)
An alarm rang loudly at 7:30 in the morning. Seven hours too late, but they didn’t know that. The intercom on Bella’s desk buzzed, and the Presiden’ts voice came through - my office. All three of you. Now.
“What does he want?” Kailey muttered before dashing off.
Once they arrived back into the gas station, Vaughn ran into the back room, beginning to throw things into a duffel bag. “We have to go, find somewhere else to stay. It’s not safe here anymore,” he said, a slight stammer in his tone. His one safe place, his sanctuary, was suddenly dangerous.
Bella jumped up and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked decent, so she hurried off to the president's office.
“What is the meaning of this?” He demanded, holding a picture of the empty cell.
“Stay calm,” she said, looking around. “You weren’t exactly close to where the shot rang.”
“But they might know, and if they know then we aren’t safe here,” Vaughn said quickly, feeling like there was a pressure on his lungs.
“Vaughn! Breathe,” she said slowly. “If there’s any signs of a ransack…”
Vaughn’s jaw clenched and he sat on the edge of his bed, head in his hands as he took deep, shuddering breaths. “Okay..” he said softly.
“I’ll get you a cup of water and look around,” she continued. “You should probably try to get some sleep.”
Bella stood still, a look of shock on her face. "uh..um.. Who did that? How did they get out?" she stammered.
Vaughn nodded and took his combat boots off, then tossed aside his suit jacket. “You should sleep too…”
“Later,” she agreed. She slipped out of the room and looked around for awhile, coming back with a bottle of water. “Here.”
