March rolled over and stared groggily at her alarm before springing out of bed. She had overslept again, which was fast becoming an unhealthy habit. After speed showering and changing into her usual sports leggings and over-sized sweater she threw her knapsack over her shoulder and raced out the door of her small apartment. She turned the corner and headed into her favourite coffee shop.
"Hey, Lisa," she greeted the barista as she produced a wrinkled Abraham Lincoln from her wallet and ordered her usual. She pulled her wild curls back into a chaotic bun as she looked for a seat in the crowded cafe. The last open seat was across the table from a stranger reading a book.
"Thanks, love," she smiled as she received her latte. She maneuvered her way to the empty seat.
"Excuse me, may I sit here?" she asked the guy reading, pulling him away from his book.
Eve walked into the coffeehouse and up to the young girl at the register. "Just a straight black coffee please." she ordered, pulling out her credit card. After receiving her coffee, Eve walked to the couch closest to the wall of windows right by the entry. Pulling out her laptop to make some last minute edits to her journalism article before leaving for work. Satisfied with her piece after about 20 minutes, she closed her laptop and stood up from her chair.
(what is the weather like/ what season is it outside?)
(The weather? It's sunny. I would say it's spring)
(yay that's my favourite season. the season of new life)
"Day off? Sounds awesome." Alfred said, sipping his coffee. "Good for you."
Blake looked up to find a very pretty woman standing over the table "Um, yea sure by all means." he sat his book to the side and straitened up a bit "I'm Blake." he offered her his hand for a shake
"Right," Megumi said. "If only every day were like this." She chuckled before taking a bite of her pastry, eyes darting from Alfred to her magazine to the blue sky outside.
"It feels really nice today," Megumi commented, before adding, "No drunkards here." She started to laugh, before sipping her coffee.
"Maybe I should go shopping, or at the very least go look at some clothes. It would be a waste not to."
"You're a fashion aficionado?" He asked, curiously.
She seemed like the type of person to be one.
"Well, more like an addict," Megumi replied, laughing. "I work for a fashion firm. I'm actually a secretary. But it is really fun to be around clothes."
She slid the magazine towards him.
"You should take a look. You might find something you like."
Another grin, almost flirty in nature.
He chuckled, taking the magazine, he opened it to reveal mostly women's fashion, and a bit of men's. "I see what you mean." He said, catching her grin. "I was actually gonna go browse. There's a nice apparel store by my motel, I been meaning to check it out! Any chance you'd like to come with?"
Megumi's grin grew bigger.
"By any chance… are you asking me out?"
"Depends on what you say?" He said, flirtily.
He sipped his coffee.
Taken aback, Megumi's cheeks turned red. What had been an attempt to tease Alfred and lighten the mood had backfired on her. It was so obvious, she felt like an idiot.
But she needed to see this through.
She smiled. "I'd love to come with you."
"Alright, then." He said. "The place ain't far, it's over by that Panda Express, walking distance." He said, getting up. He left his mug there.
Megumi stood up with him, folding her magazine and placing it on a nearby rack as she fell in step with Alfred.
"So what's your favorite style of clothing?" Alfred asked, walking beside her.
"I prefer dresses," Megumi replied, gesturing to her own deep pink dress. "They give you freedom of movement."
"I suppose they do, I myself prefer cargo pants for the sheer functionality." He answered. "Here we are, men's and women's fashion."
March extended her free hand towards him as she sat down.
"Nice to me you, Blake, the name's March, like the month, because my parents are very creative," she chuckled at her own sarcasm. She caught notice of his bright blue eyes, demanding attention as they stood out against his tan skin. They seemed attentive and happy. She loved happy eyes, they made the whole face brighter.
Once inside the apparel shop, Megumi immediately strayed away from Alfred to the cutest dresses that she could find.
"Sorry," she said, taking a sky blue one off the hanger and holding it against herself. "But… they're just so lovely…"
"Yeah, I dunno too much about women's fashion, but I'll have to agree with you!" Alfred remarked. "Check that one out!" He said, gesturing to a dress that was the colors of the sunset.
As soon as he pointed out the sunset dress, Megumi immediately rushed to it like a dog to a treat. She took that one off the hangar and added it to the sky blue dress. Immediately afterwards, though, Megumi nearly ran towards a red, rose-printed dress, adding that to her ever-growing pile!
(So many dresses lol)
"Enthusiastic, eh?" Alfred said, walking over to the men's aisle, he picked up a tight-looking blazer, some cargo pants, and an expensive tie, along with matching loafers and belt. He returned to Megumi's side.
Blake flashed a brilliant smile "March, I like it. So simple it's almost genius." He chuckled
