Avdey's gaze softened slight and he turns back around, walking to the counter, "Can I get a medium rare steak with mashed potato's and steamed green beans? As well as some warmed blood." He looks back at her, " The bloods for me, but does everything else sound good? "
Leta nodded, her grip on her shoulders loosening again. “Thank you…” she said quietly.
He nods, "It'll be about fifteen to twenty minutes. Let's go sit down." He yawns, walking to a table.
Leta shook her head and scampered after him, the tip of her tongue poking out a little. She looked very alert, and her eyes were open wide.
Avery relaxes, looking at her, "Okay, so, you probably still don't believe me, but I'm going to tell you how things work around here. There are, of course, the different races. Vampire-" he flashes his fangs, "Werewolf-" he gestures to her, "Mermaids, they tend to be beautiful and kindheated, there songs healing and wonderus. Then Sirin's they only have beautiful faces, their teeth are long and sharp. Their songs are deadly, you'll learn how to resist their calls in one of your classes. Those are the major races, but there are more. Such as half breeds and the like. Then there are clans. Pretty much families. I'm from the Vorozheykina Clan. The second most powerful vampire clan on Russia. And the second most powerful clan in the world." He sighs, "Your clan, or pack, as werewolves call them, is unkiwn, but you'll get a DNA test done, and we'll find out who your parents were. Or are, thus findomg you pack."
Leta blinked a few times, glancing around anxiously. “That sounds… fun.” She scrunched up her face a little.
(Short response, sorry 💀)
He grins at her, “Which part?”
She huffed a little. “Yyyyes,” she said, dragging out her word a little.
He laughs softly, leaning back n his seat.
Leta starts looking around, her eyes wide and alert again.
After a few mor minutes, someone brings a tray to the table, giving Leta the food. Then they handed Avdey a glass with slightly thick red liquid in it. “Thanks Jacob.” He looks into the glass, then takes a sip.
Leta’s gaze snaps to the food. She waits a few moments, glancing up at Avdey, before silently eating her food.
He takes a moment and then downs the contents of his glass, letting out a disgusted sound. “Never as good as human. . .” He mutters, wiping the corner of his mouth.
Leta glanced at him again, curious. “What’s the difference?” She asked innocently.
Avdey hums, “It’s. . . Sweeter, not as bitter. Full of flavors. And it ill usually taste like the last thing they ate. Which please us because then we don’t have to taste the same thing everytime. But we only get blood from those who volunteered or have already died and we were able to get their blood. And even then it’s saved for our holidays. Animal blood is the same way, taste like what they last ate, but as animals don’t have a variety in options like humans do. . . Well, it’s never as. . . Flavorful. And blood is the only thing most of us can eat. Some of us can train our bodies to eat human foods, but it’s rare and hard to do.”
Leta tilted her head. “Oh. That’s… interesting.”
Leta starts looking around again and twiddles her thumbs.
He sighs, pointing to her food, "Eat."
(Ngl I just choked on my chips at this response- just “bitch u better eat-“)
She looks back at him, a little shocked, then continues eating after a moment.
(Exactly)
He watches, mute and then finishes his glass.
She finishes eating her food and starts twiddling her thumbs again.
