"I'm finished with my cup," Locke said, standing up and straightening his coat. "It was fantastic. Thank you!"
"I'm finished with my cup," Locke said, standing up and straightening his coat. "It was fantastic. Thank you!"
“Of course it was fantastic,” the March Hare replied. “But you’re welcome nevertheless! And it appears the Dormouse has fallen asleep. Oh well! We should begin with the Chesire Cat, White Rabbit, and Caterpillar and then we can move onto the others.”
"Sounds adequate," He said nodding.
(I might not be on too much over the next two days)
(ok thanks for telling me)
”Does Anna have any other abilities, besides her sense of direction? I know what mine is… Unless there's another I don't know about.” Maddie asked finishing her cup.
“I suppose that means that you haven’t stumbled upon the Jabberwocky or any of its minions,” the Hare replied. “Anna should be able to tell when they’re near. Let’s hope that particular ability isn’t needed until you all learn how to fight. As for you, you can predict possible outcomes to situations based on a choice you have to make, which you sort of did earlier with the others’ ability to become their animal forms.”
"What can I exactly do? Well, except for knowing what everything is. Does this happen with people too? Because it happened with you." Locke asked, intrigued.
“You’re just really smart,” the March Hare replied. “Your gifts are pretty easy to explain. Okay, I believe it is time to learn how to change form. The first step is to envision what your animal form looks like. See it in your mind’s eye.”
Alexander sighed, thinking it was quite cliche, but did as the March Hare said.
Locke nodded before closing his eyes and seeing himself as a blue caterpillar.
(I'm imagining it as the Tim burton version more than the Disney one.)
Kai raised an eyebrow but closed his eyes with a shrug, thinking of a small black cat with a purple underbelly and an unatural smile.
(Bump?)
Maddie leaned forward, eager to see the others’ new forms. Though she didn't want to distract them, her mind was buzzing. ”How are we going to fight? I didn't bring any weapons. I've never even used one.”
“The Dormouse can show you,” the March Hare said, nudging the small mouse awake.
“Follow me,” the Dormouse yawned in his high-pitched voice, and hopped off the table.
“So as for the others, the next step is exhale, and imagine that you’re melting,” the Hare added. “That’s the best way I can think to describe it. Just release and become with Wonderland. You’ll feel the pull soon enough.”
Locke inhaled and then exhaled. He did feel like he was melting. He felt himself getting smaller but didn't open his eyes. Once he felt himself stop he opened his eyes to find he was on four legs on the ground. He wiggled his tiny limbs around. "This is…interesting." He said, his voice somehow deeper.
Kai did the same, feeling his body melt and re form as a furry animal. "This feels wack." He muttered, his voice sounding layered.
Alexander tried to do as the March Hare had instructed, at first not feeling anything but then slowly feeling himself shrink. It was almost dizzying to him. “Did it work?” he asked, opening his eyes to find himself much shorter than he had been. His voice sounded slightly higher, but not much different.
Maddie burst out laughing. ”You three look so cute!”
Locke looked at everyone. "This looked very odd from my perspective." He said, looking at the other, as they were now much taller than him. He seemed to talk slightly slower as well, as if sleepy.
“How do we change back?” Alexander asked, feeling jumpy. Everything felt huge, and so did everyone (except Locke, of course).
“Changing back is slightly harder, but it’s more or less the reverse of becoming an animal,” the March Hare instructed.
Maddie smiled, barely resisting the urge to pick up and cuddly at least one of her animal friends. ”Right, Dormouse. Anne, are you coming? Can't leave our adventurer defenseless either.” she asked, grabbing her backpack as she stood. ”Lose my head if it wasn't attached some days.”
Locke closed his eyes and felt himself growing and morphing back upwards until he stopped moving. He opened his eyes to see himself looking human. "I expected it to be different but that wasn't entirely unpleasant." He said straightening his tie.
Kai felt his body melting then reforming into a human form, he shook his head trying to get away some of the buzzing in his ears.
Alexander focused, his face of concentration probably looking stupid on a rabbit, then became human once again, opening his eyes in relief. “That was interesting.”
