(Only if you want to, I'm seriously not trying to pressure you into it! Like, legit, I understand not being able to keep up with this on top of the other shit :)

(Well, currently, I'm kinda waiting for Naomi to stumble across either Val, Andry, Bōb, Lucky Jack, SAM or Etta.)

Deleted user

(WAIT- I'm actually dumb!)

Val releases Bōb, lets him get a far enough distance away, then throws a mana knife at hime, hitting him in the back of the neck perfectly and killing him instantly. She walks away, whistling. She goes to a bar where it is known that gamblers andothers who try their luck hang out. She keeps an eye out for the notorious halfling, ordering a Scotch.

Etta watches all this from a nearby motel, a ragged and run down outpost for many like her. He sits and stares, eyebrows raising once Val summons the manna. Interesting… She thinks to herself. Maybe it is good that I spared her. Besides, boss still paid me for this work. She summons up the exnet on her forearm, smiling at her bank account. Perhaps I'll do some spying myself, like that unfortunate goblin. She slinks expertly into the dark, foreboding streets of the wasteland city, following Val silently with the help of her programming. She slips into the bar, just behind Val, and takes a seat as she looks at the menu.

Val, having been watching the door, notices a shady figure come in. Not too unusual… she thinks, turning her attention back to the larger crowds. I need to focus on Lucky Jack anyways.

(Oof, poor Bōb)

Lucky Jack, sitting comfortably in his office in the back of his shop as he researched various things, narrowed his eyes when a tracker alert pinged him. He turned to the page with every tracker and noted that Bōb’s stats marked him as dead.

Jack sighed, then tapped on it, retracing the goblin’s whereabouts. He noted that the goblin had been circling a particular building, then had apparently hid before being captured, likely questioned, and killed. His eyes narrowed further.

After a moment of searching, he found a pic of the workshop that Bōb had been circling. He tapped his chin, humming. If Bōb, a greedy little goblin if there ever was one, had gone from the junkyard to this shop, then there was definitely something interesting about it. He looked up the shop and its owner, nodding at the name Valerie, then grabbed his coat and pistol.

“Either that little sucker stepped too far, or this Valerie is attacking my crew. Why? Or is she looking for adamantium too?”Jack mumbled to himself.

He locked up his shop and headed to the Bilge Rat Bay tavern to investigate.

(Yeah, lmao! It is a world of shady deals and murder, so… shrugs)

Valerie notes a feeling that starts buzzing in her head: one of her spells telling her that somebody was tracking her whereabouts. She smiles slightly. Gotcha, Jack. I knew killing Bōb would have to get your attention.

Etta looks up from behind the menu, studying Val's every movement. She initializes her subtle reading dialogue, giving her information about Valerie's movements. She grins, trying her best to hide behind the menu. Ah, so she's onto something. Something wicked. She smiles, ordering hard vodka from the waiter and continuing to observe.

Val's spells allow her to sense Etta's peculiar attention on her, Her small smile grows. She turns suddenly, catching Etta studying her. She gives a small, demeaning wave.

Lucky Jack entered the tavern and looked around, noticing a few shady figures and a familiar face. He waved jovially at the bartender, then sat down in his customary corner seat, watching everything. The bartender approached him.

“Business or Casual?”

“Let’s go with Business,”Jack replied.

The bartender nodded and brought him a glass of wine. Jack paid him, then resumed watching his surroundings. He understood it was a risk to personally investigate something like this, but Valerie was here, and likely wanted to talk to him. He always appreciated the possibility of a new partner or client.

Val gets up when Lucky Jack enters the room and smiles. She alters her voice so that he at least doesn't know that, and her face had been covered already. Her visual display, both technological and magical, was analyzing Lucky Jack himself, digging and digging through all of the information, readily available or not, that could be found on him. She walks over as this process is happening. "So… the infamous Lucky Jack. I've heard a lot about you."

Etta quickly pretends to be watching the livestream of the bot fight behind Val, then questioningly turns her gaze back to the mysterious girl. She nods her head, allowing a small half smile to escape. She's not bad. Suddenly, the appearance of Lucky Jack captures her full attention. He quickly looks away, subtly using a cam on her wrist to watch the halfling. She amplified and focuses her hearing, wanting to be informed of this whole exchange.

@Nor_bananas

Naomi walks into the bar and sits down. They can not drink or eat because they are a robot so they just sit and wait. They don't know what they are waiting for. They will know when it happens though.

Jack looked at Valerie as she approached, a charming smile appearing on his face. He shrugged.

“I’m not exactly hiding myself if that’s what you’re saying. I am, after all, a legitimate businessman. You should visit one of my shops sometime. Though, besides all that, I suspect you know why I’m here. You attacked one of my employees, why? An innocent young man, though a fool, is now badly injured,”Jack said to her.

He kept his voice neutral and his words subtle. He already suspected at least one eavesdropper was about, so he wanted to keep this conversation short for now, until the pair could reach a more private place, namely his shop.

Val watches the newcomer walk in, then turns her attention back to Lucky Jack. Damn, this place is popular.

"I couldn't have him running off and telling who told me your name. That would be very… difficult… to cover up." Val replies, smirking behind her helmet.
