"Think of it as a physical manifestation of the soul. His is hidden somewhere, and I know where it is," Cassiel said smugly
"Think of it as a physical manifestation of the soul. His is hidden somewhere, and I know where it is," Cassiel said smugly
"Good. We should go get it!" Is Orion's only response to those words. He doesn't question them, just accepts it and moves on.
//^ me when I hear someone mention nearby pizza
(omg yes lol)
(lol) Cas nodded. "Yes, it's important to get it as soon as possible. But I would recommend resting first. It's a long hike to where it's been hidden, and I need to recover before I can access the key's tracking." Sam huffed.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be bothering you all with my issues. This is highly dangerous, and none of you deserve the potential collateral."
"We are going to help. The sooner that you accept that fact, the easier it will be. I am off to visit a candyman." With that, Orion reillusions himself, and walks towards the town looking human.
Sam sighs, holding his head in his hands. "Why did you tell me to tell them?" he mumbles to Cas.
"Because they would have found out sooner or later, and if they know they can help."
(Let's say Lata ran off somewhere for the moment while I was gone lol)
Lata set Sam's coat back in his lap, glaring up at him.
"There's no way in hell that we wouldn't help you. I'm not letting anyone I care about die again…" she trailed off. Cassiel made a good point. She felt angry that Sam had never told them he would die without whatever this key thing was. It would be after she grew old and died, but that was because she was human. 100 years was probably relatively short for Samandriel and Cassiel.
(I’m extremley bored in a study hall, so I’m just going to bring Lucy back inside.)
As Lucy returned to the cabin, she fiddled with the small bag in her palm. She had traced a rune on it in a bit of black ink, and put the ingreidents for the spell inside. Hex’s energy felt different than the energy of a natural magic. She stuffed it away, not wanting to use it.
She walked back into the kitchen, pausing by the table when she saw the serious and concerned expressions on the group’s faces. She arched a brow in question, looking between the four of them.
Sam turned away from Lucy, not wanting to repeat himself. Cassiel gave him a concerned look before turning to Lucy. "It appears we may be going on an…expedition in a few days."
Lucy frowned softly at Sam’s “response”, but told herself that it didn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter. “Expedition? For what, exactly?” She asked, still seeming a bit confused.
Cas gave Sam a look, and Sam nodded. "We're going to recover Samandriel's soul before he dies," Cas explained
Lucy noticeably tensed upon hearing that. Sam dying? He would have told them. Why wouldn’t he have told them? “If this is some sort of cruel joke..” she said, a slight tremble in her voice.
"It's not. Which is why I didn't want to say anything," Sam said, sitting up. He stared down at his hands, fiddling with one of his rings absently
Lucy took a seat in an empty chair, head resting against her hands for a moment before she looked back up. “You should have said something. We could have tried to help you sooner,” she said, the same tone in her words. She felt a mix of upset and anger, and it was overwhelming.
"I didn't feel it necessary to act yet. I still have a hundred or so years on the clock. I thought I would…" he trailed off, looking suddenly ashamed of himself. Cas made a noise of anger.
"What did you think you were going to do? What exactly did you have in mind? Did you just assume you were going to pick a universe to crumble in?!" he asked indignantly
Lucy hated to admit it, but she felt that Cas was right. Sam seemed completely unconcerned that he was dying, even if he still had plenty of years left. “The amount of time is really not the point, Sam,” she said slowly.
"Well maybe I don't want to go back!" Sam snapped. "Would you want to go home after being beaten and tossed aside like trash?!"
Lucy rubbed at her eyes, going quiet for a moment at the outburst. She mentally reached out in an attempt to calm Sam’s nerves, though she was more hesitant because of what happened the last time. “It will be okay.. Do we know where it is?”
Orion came in, and he did as Oriond does. "Anyone want candy? Cal gave me extras." When speaking of Cal he smiles, and his voice takes of a lighter tilt.
"Cas knows where it is." Is Orion's reply, "But I will need a few days to gather what we need for such a trip."
"And thanks to you slashing me, I can't perform the tracking ritual for a few days," Cas said
Lucy nodded slowly, doing her best to push aside her emotions and concentrate on logical thoughts. “Alright, at least we have time to prep.”
While the others spoke, Lata took Orion's offer, popping one of the sweet candies in her mouth.
Lata walked over to the counter and took the pitcher of fresh lemonade. She set it on the table for everyone to partake in the summer drink, and began to pour herself a glass. Her hand slipped, making it spill on Sam's lap. Her eyes widened and she ran to grab a towel or something.
