Orion smiled warmly at the lady who runs the orphanage, murmuring softly to Lata, "Play along, yeah?" Turning back to the woman, he softly smiles again. "Hello. My name is Castor, and my wife Luna here, and I have found ourselves unable to have…children. We were wondering if we could meet any of the little ones here?"

Lucy’s head and neck ached, but she did her best to sitherself the rest of the way, her legs still under the blanket. She felt the material of it, then the back of her head and neck. She grimaced in pain, dropping her hand back into her lap. Her whole body felt sore, and her muscles felt stiff. Were there red spots in her aura? Were they more like the rose? Or maybe lighter, like the lipstick she carried in her satchel? But, of course, she was unable to see her own aura. Her mother told her it was always a mix of peaceful greens, usually having streaks of a daring gold.

She shook the pointless thoughts from her head. Must be from the blood loss. was she alone? No, there was someone in the kitchen area. She assumed it was Orion, he said not to go in the kitchen.

(Wait I thought Lata was like a kid)

“Oh, really?” The younger woman asked, smiling politely. “Well, we have plenty of children who would be happy to go to a nice home. I could ask my managers to show you a look around?” The woman suggested, pointing to the fact that she obviously wasn’t the owner of the orphanage, she simply worked for her. The manager had been the one to help in the assault.

Sam finally finished the noodles, setting the pot aside. He walked into the living room, finding Lucy sitting upright. "Lay back down. You'll hurt yourself," he grumbled

The soft, "Thank you, that would be appreciated. We have looked forward to kids for quite some time." As he says this he puts an arm around Lata's shoulders.

Lucy didn’t quite remember much after the roses. She knew Sam had brought her back to the cabin, but not how kind he had been. She hummed in response, seemingly ignoring what he told her to do, rubbing at her eyes. “Do you think there’s some pain medicine around here?”

The woman nodded and walked into a different section of the main office, sticking her head through a door and saying a few quiet words. An older man and woman walked out, maybe in their late forties or so. “How may we help you? Is there any particular gender or race you were considering?” The woman asked in a sickeningly sweet tone while her husband stood nearby, fiddling with a bandage that was on one of his palms, most likely having cut himself on the glass vase earlier when it was smashed.

Sam huffed, walking off to to the kitchen to rifle through the cupboards. He finally found a bottle of tylenol and chucked it at her from the kitchen. "Do what you will with that. Do you want food?" he asked

Lucy barely caught it, her reflexes a bit slower than they usually were. She popped open the cap, taking three of them. “That was you cooking in there? I thought Orion said no people in his kitchen.”

“Alright, follow me then,” The woman said, leading them through a door. “We have many kids here of all ranges,” she explained, walking into a large common room where some of the kids were sitting, doing various activities.

Looking around, Orion notes that many of the children appear to be scruffy and underfed. Nodding to the woman, he walks into the room, scanning for any telltale signs of accidental magic from the children.

“Illness has dropped majorly in this facility. There was a young woman who would come in and keep the sick children intertained. It’s funny, she hasn’t been around recently,” the woman said slowly, glancing around at all the children while her husband seemed uncomfortable.

Lucy chuckled softly. “That’d be interesting to see. I wonder who would win..?” She said in a teasing tone, trailing off towards the end of her sentence in thought. “I’d say Orion,” she continued, simply to get on Sam’s nerves.

@Desvelarse pets

(Ah, quick response)

Lucy laughed softly to herself. “Mm, I’m not a child, Sam. And sure, just a bit,” she responded, laying back down slowly.
