Lucy chuckled softly and shrugged. “You’ll get used to it. You don’t have to go looking for new shirts if you don’t want to. I could just go out a get some things that are a few sizes bigger than that shirt,” she offered.
Lucy chuckled softly and shrugged. “You’ll get used to it. You don’t have to go looking for new shirts if you don’t want to. I could just go out a get some things that are a few sizes bigger than that shirt,” she offered.
"No, it's fine, I'm sure the people in the stores have seen 7' men in too tight shirts before. Besides, I wouldn't want you buying me something ridiculous."
“You think I would purchase you something ridiculous?” Lucy asked, doing her best to copy his offended, pouting look from before.
"I have a funny feeling you would act like Lillith and attempt to buy me something that made me look like a homeless lumberjack just for laughs," he said, giving her a grumpy pout
“Oh please, I’m not that shallow. I’ve lived with men, I know how most prefer to dress,” Lucy explained with a careless shrug.
"That doesn't mean you wouldn't try to steal all my suits and replace them with flannel."
“Mm, you’re just giving me ideas at this point,” Lucy responded, rocking back and forth on her heels. “Come on, now. Let’s get going before it gets too late, the city tends to get dangerous at night.”
"You forget I gutted five or so men today," Sam huffed. "But yes, the sooner I look more presentable the better."
“You did that in the woods, you can’t go around killing people in the city,” Lucy explained quickly, not wanting to have to see another dead body that day.
"Why not? I do it in Molhaven on a near daily basis. Though most have stopped trying to kill me, which is a welcome change."
“This place is much different than where you just mentioned,” Lucy said, beginning to walk with him from the room. On their way out, she made sure to grab her satchel, feeling relieved by the usual weight on her shoulder. “Here, you can get in serious trouble for murder.”
"But what if it's justified murder?" Sam asked, walking out the door. He shivered a little, the air starting to feel cold as night started to approach
“People still get in trouble for that sort of thing as well,” Lucy explained, folding her arms across her chest to keep them warmer.
"Well isn't that a lovely system of justice. In my city it's the assailant that's punished, and if they were murdered by someone defending themselves, then it's no one's fault but the attacker." He looked down at his hands absently. His skin should have been cracking as they walked, and it bothered him a little that it wasn't. "How far to the clothes store? I wasn't in town long."
They soon emerged from the woods and onto a side walk, the tall buildings bright lights making it easier to see. “Just about a block away,” Lucy said as they walked down the path, occasionally passing other people. Eventually, they reach the clothing store and went inside. “There should be a place where you could try the clothes on toward the back.”
"Okay." Sam reached into his pockets, looking for something. He muttered a quiet curse. "I hate to ask this of you, but would you mind paying for my clothes? I seem to have misplaced my wallet."
(it looks like I gtg for a bit but I should be back before too long)
Lucy shook her head quickly as a way of saying she understood. “No, I don’t mind. It’s perfectly fine,” she said, digging into her satchel and taking out her own wallet.
(Alright, seeyah)
(hello I'm back) "Thank you." Sam then walked off to find clothes, hunched over to not look as tall and draw attention to himself
(Ayy)
Lucy nodded, waiting nearby for Sam to finish finding the clothes that he wanted. She took out her barely used cellphone, having to power it back on completely. There were a few missed calls from a blocked number and she sighed, shutting it off again.
Sam walked around, browsing for clothes. It took him a few minutes of wandering before finally finding something he was ok with. He grabbed a few black button-ups and a new tie, then grabbed another pair of slacks and a few band t-shirts he thought were alright. He was on his way to find Lucy again before discovering a black aviator jacket. It wasn't a trench coat, but it would work. He walked back to Lucy, clothes in hand
Lucy looked at his pile, then back up at him. “Looks good. Hopefully those should fit,” she said and led him to the check out counter. She took the clothes from him and set them on the counter top. The amount racked up to around $70, and she put the amount, in cash, on the counter. The clothes were paid for and bagged, and they headed out of the store,
"Thank you for buying these for me," Sam said as they walked
(Should probably go to bed, it’s late where I am. Seeyah!)
Lucy nodded in response and smiled. “It’s not a problem at all. Hopefully the other two didn’t realize we had left, they might get worried,” she said, trailing off towards the end in thought.
