“I- I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s gotten into me. I can leave if I’m making you uncomfortable.” Noah but his lip, swallowing a hard lump of anxiety.

Myrah looked back at him and shook her head quickly, cheeks still a bright blushing red, "No! You could never make me uncomfortable! So stay please?"

@ShadeStar

"I-I'm glad you stay around," Myrah felt herself now stumbling over her words. She had dealt with this for a while now, she could deal with it for a while more.

@blue_topaz

Noah wanted to stuff his face back into his helmet to hide how incredibly flustered he was. “Well, most people hate me, so I wouldn’t leave if someone actually wanted me to stay.”

@ShadeStar

(Oh right, he doesn't have his helmet on :)

Myrah shook her head slowly in disbelief, a few strands coming loose from her braid to frame her face, "I don't understand how anyone could hate someone as incredibly sweet as…. You…………………….."

Please don't read into it, please don't read into it. Oh boy she had messed up!

@blue_topaz

Noah stared at her for two reasons. The first was the fact that a few strands of hair had skipped loose from her braid and god did she look gorgeous. The second reason was the fact that she had just called him sweet.

I’m misinterpreting her words. There’s no way.

“I’m not a good person,” he replied quietly.

@ShadeStar

Myrah couldn't stop the words that flowed from her mouth. It was like her entire body was against her at the moment, "I don't care."

@blue_topaz

Noah glanced up sharply, hating and loving the way his breath hitched all at the same time. “You should care,” he whispered back. “I’ve hurt people.”

@blue_topaz

Noah almost shivered at the sound of her impossibly soft voice, but caught himself at the last moment. “But it’s not in the past. I’m still a bad person.”

@blue_topaz

Noah stayed silent for a long time, trying to find the courage to speak. Finally, he took a deep breath in and steeled himself. “I’m a bad person because I can’t help people. I push them away. I’m harsh. People find me annoying. I’m a bad person because— because— I haven’t told you who I am. I’m a liar. A freak.”

@ShadeStar

“You’re not a freak,” Myrah said consolingly her eyes softening. She reached her hand out towards him, “And just because you can’t help others or push them away makes you a bad person. And if we’re saying being annoying makes you a bad person, then I suppose I am too.”

@blue_topaz

“But you’re not annoying,” he insisted softly, tears springing up at the corners of his eyes as he said the next sentence. “I’m lying to you just by standing where you can see me.”

@ShadeStar

Myrah was confused, she didn’t understand his words or what they meant. She did however see tears and reached up to wipe them away. She didn’t want to see him cry, “I-I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

@blue_topaz

Noah turned his face away miserably, wanting to lean into her touch more than anything else but not slowing himself to.

She thinks you’re fully a guy. You can’t trick her like this. It isn’t fair to her.

“I’m sorry. I- I should go.”

@ShadeStar

She didn’t stop him this time. Her hand moved back to her lap as her head bowed in defeat. She pushed him too far, next time she wouldn’t push him so far. No words of defiance came out against, just the silence of defeat.

@blue_topaz

“Princess— Myrah—“ His voice faltered. “I hope you still want to talk to me tomorrow morning. I’m not mad, but if you are, that’s okay.” And with that, he was gone, his stomach a messy knot of guilt and self-hate.

@ShadeStar

Myrah sat for a few moments in the deafening silence before standing up. She picked her chin up and tried not to cry as she retreated to her quarters. Time, time would heal this. He clearly wasn’t interested, but she wouldn’t let that ruin their friendship.
