Myrah's head popped up. A huge smile split her face, "Hey Olive!"
Myrah's head popped up. A huge smile split her face, "Hey Olive!"
Noah reached forward to hug her tightly, shifting to sit down next to her. "It's a Noah day– is that alright?"
Myrah had hugged him back as he sat down, "Yeah that's fine! Is it okay if I call you Olive by default? Like before you can tell me."
"Yeah, it's completely fine, don't worry about it. How are you?" He glanced around before pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Myrah giggled happily. She looked around before pecking him on the cheek, "Better now that your here."
Noah flushed, glancing down at the grass for a moment. "Any more suitors?"
Myrah shook her head and said with a laugh, "No, my stupid tutor today."
"How did that go? He sounds like a lot of fun…" Noah snorted.
Myrah groaned as she threw her head back, "He is the worst! And I have to go back eventually. Ugh, why can't my parents just not have him around? I already know all they think I need to know."
Chuckling, Noah slipped off a gauntlet and grasped her hand. "I'm sure you'll survive, you won't have him around for much longer."
Myrah grinned at Noah, "Of course. But I have you to make the day much more bearable."
Noah's smile faltered. "About that– I may not be around for long."
Myrah's smile fell. She grew concerned, "Did you, we, get caught?"
Noah shook his head quickly. "No– but the General is giving out promotions today. A promotion means a higher position and……… and a task away from the castle. Even if I don't get this one, I'll get one eventually."
Myrah let out a sigh, "Well maybe I'll just ask for you to be my guard. That's a promotion right?"
"It's a promotion, but I'd be skipping two steps in the…. sort of hierarchy among knights. They wouldn't allow that."
Myrah frowned now with a sigh, "Oh. So you have to leave me no matter what happens?"
Noah looked away dejectedly. "I'm sorry. I'll be able to visit! And eventually I'll be in a high enough position to be a personal guard."
Myrah gently moved so she could see his face. A gentle smile was on it, "It's fine. I just don't know how I'll be able to survive without you until then."
Noah tried for a smile. "Me neither… I hope we have a little longer together. Maybe I won't get promoted today."
Myrah grinned, "I hope you don't. I've been out here for a while, so my tutor is probably wondering where I am."
“Aw , does that mean you have to leave now?” Noah squeezed her hand again.
Myrah laughed and squeezed back, "No, I can stay a while longer love."
Noah raised her hand to his face and kissed it. “Good.”
Myrah blushed a little. Noah was such a gentlemen. She grinned, "Extremely good."
