Olive took a moment to gather her thoughts, feeling much shakier than usual. “How did you sleep?” She was doing her best not to notice the fact that the Princess’s face was uncovered by makeup— both a blush and her adorable freckles were visible.
“I slept well, how about you?” Myrah asked with curious eyes.
Olive finally managed to steel herself and look Myrah straight in the eye. “I- Not well,” she admitted quietly.
Myrah frowned as she lost herself in the pretty grey eyes, “That’s not good. I wish you a better sleep for tonight then.”
Myrah’s deep blue eyes were fixed on hers and— dear lord— this girl was going to be the death of her. Olive shrugged eloquently, glancing around before taking a chance and slipping off her helmet. “Did I really fool you? That I was a boy?”
Myrah nodded as she glanced away shamefully, "Yeah you did. Though if I look back with my new knowledge I can see how oblivious I really was.
“Don’t be ashamed— I’m glad that the disguise actually works.” Olive reassured her quickly, offering a smile.
Myrah smiled back at her. She brushed the hair in her face behind her ear, "It is really good."
Olive put herself out on a limb and reached up to grasp Myrah’s hand tightly. “Come down here. Please? I’ll catch you.”
Myrah thought for a moment before she tried to pull her hand back, "Give me a moment to get changed and I'll be right down."
Olive nodded, letting go of the Princess’s hand and turning away. Her heart pattered uselessly, she had to refrain from physically slapping herself.
Myrah rushed and quickly grabbed a dress. She didn't bother with shoes, or pants before returning to the window. She sat down on the ledge feet dangling waiting for Olive to give her the okay.
Olive held out her arms after discarding her gauntlets, smiling widely up at Myrah. “Jump.”
Myrah beamed as she pushed herself off the ledge and toward Olive.
Olive caught the Princess easily, her skirts all bunched up against her. She held Myrah above the ground so that she was practically sitting on her arms– and her face was so close, barely centimetres away, freckles and blush unmasked by powder. Her heart fluttered.
Myrah was breathing with moderate difficulty and her heart was pounding in her chest from the adrenaline rush and the close vicinity of Olive. She wanted nothing more to kiss the guard, but restrained since she had a feeling Olive was ready yet. Still, she really really wanted to.
Olive's cheeks heated up, flushing gently. She was acutely aware of how close they were, how perfectly Myrah fit in her arms. The Princess was so warm, all tucked up against her chest, and she was so painfully beautiful– Oh god. She's– she's perfect.
Myrah couldn't look at Olive. The other girl was blushing and Myrah just couldn't handle her beauty anymore. She didn't want to get down and never made any movement that would indicate otherwise. She just tried to get her pounding heart to stop, pounding.
Sucking in a sharp breath, Olive finally forced herself to set Myrah gently down, almost breathless from the prolonged closeness. "I– You're lighter than I thought you would be," she blurted out, not knowing what else to say.
Myrah laughed as she was half tempted to fake fall just so she could get close again, "Did you think I would one of those really skinny but really heavy type of people? Because I'm as light as a feather."
Myrah fell forwards, and Olive caught her against her chest, blushing furiously. "I didn't expect you to be heavy– just not as light as you actually are." She kept her arms around the other girl, alost afraid to pull away.
Myrah was so glad she did that and her face was also now a bright red. She laughed again nervousness seeping through her voice, "I know that shocks, um a lot of people."
Olive tried to tease the Princess despite her pink face and obvious flusterdness. "I'm not the only one who's held you like that?"
"No!" Myrah yelped slightly pulling back from Olive as she got flustered, "I mean no one else has! But it's just a thing people don't assume, and-"
She cut herself off by clamping her mouth shut.
Olive laughed, tugging her close once again. "I'm just teasing– it's my turn to have you flustered now." Not that she herself wasn't flustered, but the sight of Myrah so embarrassed gave her a little boost and a huge rush of adrenaline.
