I don't know if this place just got better or worse… Levi shoved his hands in his pockets and followed Lenny.
I don't know if this place just got better or worse… Levi shoved his hands in his pockets and followed Lenny.
"They keep the information about dark magic closer to the back…" Lenny trailed off, grabbing books off bookshelves. Other creatures were in the room with them, climbing around the higher shelves, occasionally dropping books. One heavy book dropped on Lenny's head, and she landed on her rump with an 'oomf!'
Levi took the book off the floor and offered his hand to Lenny. "You okay?"
Lenny stood, and laughed. "Yes I'm fine. What book is that?" she asked.
He rubbed his hands over the cover. "It's a really long title, but the last few words say 'Of Dark Magic' so I think we should look at it."
Lenny smiled and nodded. She gently took the book from Levi, and flipped through it. "Is it weird and unrealistic that this is the exact book we need?" she asked, looking up. "Like, the exact thing."
Levi pointed up to the creatures above them. "They must know their dark magic."
Smiling, Lenny sat down and leaned against the bookshelf. "Its seriously everything you need to know about the dark magic of Umbra's."
Levi sat down next to her and read over her shoulder. He nervously looked at her. "Are you sure we'll be able to beat this thing? From what I've read so far, it doesn't seem easy."
Lenny sighed. "Its going to be insanely hard, and we're gonna come back with bruises and cuts and broken bones. But its beatable." she confirmed.
Levi sighed, leaning back. He groaned. "I've been so careful not to get hurt…"
Lenny laughed softly. "Almost everybody else has," she pointed out.
"Yeah, and I'm the one that has to take them to the hospital afterwards. If I get hurt, you'll have to take over for me."
Lenny smiled, but then her smile turned downwards. "I'm sorry about those awful things I said to you when I was… under."
He shook his head. "Don't apologize. That wasn't you."
"I guess your right." She shrugged. "Not being yourself… it was horrible. I could see everything happening, hear it all too. But I couldn't do anything. I was trapped behind this weird, unbreakable glass, that I couldn't get to. Well, until you came to get me." she said, looking at Levi.
Levi smiled. "I'll take that as a compliment." He laughed a little. "I'll make sure to stay away from those creatures as much as possible."
Lenny smiled. "Please do. You getting hurt doesn't need to happen." she said quietly. She then went back to reading.
Levi nodded. He leaned closer to her, reading over Lenny's shouler.
Lenny looked over at Levi and smiled invisibly. She'd really grown fond of him.
Levi read carefully, trying to remember everything he was taking in.
Robin sat next to her, folding his hands neatly in his lap. He was horrible at this sort of thing and he didn't really know what to say.
Zoey tapped her feet a few times. "Why is this so awkward?" She asked finally, breaking the silence.
"Because I'm awkward?" Robin suggested. "Talking to people is difficult for me in the best of times, and I've never been in this situation before, so that makes it even harder. Though I'm not sure about you."
"Yeah, talking is kind of awkward for me too. And I'm pretty awkward myself. And a huge klutz. I will literally walk into a wall on accident……." She gave a small chuckle.
