Eliana hears a voice, which she immediately recognized as Marig's. "That girl you led to class seems like she's never been here before." Hearing them, Eliana dropped her voice down to a whisper. "Seriously" she whispered somewhat loudly to them, "you know what I told you about class. We can talk after class during break."
Violet turned when the girl behind her spoke, but realized she probably had an airpod in her other ear. She smiled politely and turned back to listening to Mr. Turner's semi-rant about classic literature. He announced that they would be reading several Shakespeare plays in class. Violet settled uneasily in her seat, her mother had tried to make her read Hamlet and she hadn't understood a word.
Kate sighs under her breath. I hope we don't read Romeo and Juliet. She shifts slightly in her seat, zoning out a little. With my luck, we probably will now. But, maybe we won't get- Her thoughts get cut off, by Mr. Turner. "Ms. Gladwell." He states, as if he's already said it a couple times. Dang it! "Yes." She answers, trying to sound like she isn't nervous. "What is the opening line in Hamlet?" He asks, calmly smiling at me. "Uh…It's…" She whispers to herself. Dang it! What is it? I'd check on my phone, but he won't stop staring at me. Ugh! What is it?
Oh crap. They were going to read Hamlet after all, and he expected them to already have it memorized. The first line was about a ghost right? Or was it the guard saying hello? This man was already her worst nightmare. Violet hurried to think of everything she could remember about Hamlet.
