"I was shocked. I didn't know what she was doing. I promise Eve I didn't encourage her." He said weakly.
"I was shocked. I didn't know what she was doing. I promise Eve I didn't encourage her." He said weakly.
Eve was sobbing by now, yet she wasn't sure why. She hadn't known Kai that long, but she didn't want to lose him, not like this. "Please d-don't lie to me." She hiccuped, unable to stop crying.
Kai fell to his knees, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his head in her shirt. "I'm not lying. I would never lie.."
Eve pulled away from him and began to close the door again. "Please, please just let me think about this for a little while." She begged him.
A sob escaped his lips and he stumbled back, staring up at her from the ground. "I love you…" He said desperately.
"Don't say that. Please don't say that." Eve cried, not wanting to believe that was true. Believing it made everything hurt worse.
"I'm sorry Eve..I love you so much. I'm so sorry.." He stood up, stumbling backwards a little.
Eve dropped to her knees, hugged her arms to her stomach with a sob. She curled up a little more, feeling so small and broken.
Kai grabbed a pen and scrap of paper from a random person walking past.
3-5 on weekdays at the music shop on the corner.
xo kai
He wrote, slipping it under the door and walking away slowly.
Eve looked at the paper, sniffling. She picked it up and read it over and over again, hoping she hadn't missed anything. I had wanted to visit him at work…and I still need a new drum set…or should I avoid him and look at the music store across town? She though as she finally began to calm down a little more.
She won't come. She wouldn't. She hates you. You ruined it. He thought, going to his dorm and sitting down where Eve had been just a couple minutes earlier.
Eve looked around, realizing that in her haste to leave Kai's dorm, she'd left her phone there. She sighed in defeat before finally getting up to change out of her day clothes so she could get some sleep.
Kai glanced down. oh..
(time skip to morning?)
(Sure :) )
Eve woke up the next morning to the sound of her alarm clock. She rushed around to get ready for work before leaving for the diner.
Kai stirred a little and realized as he woke that he was still gripping Eves phone tight in his hand. He set it down and stood up, his eyes red. A little thought formed in his head. work..oh I have..work ohmygod I’m so late! He got ready quickly and hurried down to the music shop.
Eve left the dorms and walked down the street on her way to work. She hoped she would see Kai, but she also wasn't sure if she was ready to see him after last night's events.
Kai went to work and made excuse after excuse of why he was late. He worked solemnly, not wanting to come to terms with himself. You are waiting for Eve.
Eve hurried around the diner during the breakfast rush, taking orders and bringing out meals.
Kai walked around, doing his job and singing quietly to himself.(he's singing 21 pilots dUh)
Eve was exhausted once she was finished with work. Her feet hurt and her hair blond hair was a complete mess. She quickly fixed her hair before trudging home, her earbuds in, ignoring the rest of the world.
Kai stood watching out the window. Shes not coming, just go home.
She found herself walking past the music shop and decided to go in, forgetting that Kai might be there. She browsed through the CD aisle, her earbuds still in, absent from everything that was going on around her.
Kai had turned away and didn’t notice Eve enter the shop. He grabbed a box of records and walked backwards into the main room, singing to himself as he put them away.
Eve continued to look through the CD's and listen to music when one of her favorite songs came on in her earbuds. Without a second thought, she began humming along to Oxygen by Thousand Foot Krutch as it blasted through her mind.
Kai absentmindedly started singing along with her humming.
