(I love them omg. I'm gonna post a starter)
Cleonia was looking at the target while shooting her bow and arrow. Technically, she should be better at this since her father was Apollo but she found that the music powers were stronger. She was good with a spear but that might have to do with the fact that she trained with the Ares kids a lot. Cleonia found them refreshing compared to her siblings. That was her problem. She liked everyone else better than her own siblings. Cleonia couldn't really explain it. Maybe it had to do with the fact that her mother was a demigod. Her mother was a child of Ares though you couldn't tell, as her mother was so sweet.
Cleonia shot the arrow and was at least 2 inches away from the bullseye. Groaning, she threw her bow down and ran her hand through her golden-brown hair.
(Can I send someone over to Cleonia?)
(Yeah)
Wynn found himself in the archery range, even though he wasn't the best archer. He did give it his best shot (heh). He moves to grab a bow and a quiver of arrows, before spotting Cleonia shooting at a target with a frustrated expression.
He thought about what cabin she was from, and remembered seeing her enter the Apollo cabin a few times. He moved to walk towards her and stood Infront of a target next to hers.
"Having a bit of trouble?' he spoke, addressing her as he moved to pull an arrow out of his quiver and set it into the string. He pulled the string back to his face, and then let it fly. It hit the target, but it wasn't close to a bullseye.
He'd take it though.
"I mean, not that I would be much help but hey I can at least be here to talk about it."
Cleonia tilted her head and spoke in her soft, musical voice, "Aren't you a kid of Hephaestus? No offense but I think I'll stick to getting lessons from my siblings." She felt bad about what she said so she smiled. "Besides, I'm much better with a spear. I inherited the music traits from Apollo. The fighting skills I have to thank my mother."
Putting her bow and arrow away, Cleonia hummed to herself before turning to Wynn, "We should probably go to breakfast. Don't tell anyone but I come here early in the morning so no one can see a daughter of Apollo fail at archery." Cleonia walked with Wynn to breakfast where all the other campers were. She waved goodbye and sat with the rest of the Apollo children.
Dove watched Cleonia and Wynn from a distance, under the shade of a tree. She had her notebook out and was seeing if she could find any inspiration for a poem. She found herself writing a lot, it helped her process things. Poems were an effective tool of expression, especially.
She watched until Cleonia left. After staring into the distance for a moment, something came to her and she began writing. It was alright, she wasn’t particularly hungry at the moment anyway. The eating hall was noisy and the other Apollo kids were a little chaotic too, she decided to eat later or wait until lunchtime.
(Just letting you know any of you can jump in here!)
The hour was pretty early, but already there was definite noise coming from the Hermes table, but that wasn't exactly out of the ordinary. They were a lively bunch, could never sit still when you needed them to and especially when you wanted them too.
The table was lively, with kids of all different sizes chattering in between bites of food or during bites of food for the rowdy ones. Finn was in the middle of it, eating…He couldn't quite remember but it went into his mouth as he called across the table to a child of Zephyrus, a minor wind god, who had gotten lumped in with all the Hermes kids, to pass some fruit. Finn had been looking out for him for a minute or two, before he'd realized there was no need, wind and speed went hand in hand and everyone got on like a house on fire. But that was neither here nor there, but it was on Finn's brain, so here it is.
The redhead was in the middle of telling some story about three sheep and a fox, making it up entirely as he went along, ignoring whatever barebones outline the original tale had been about. He gestured animatedly as he told his story, getting a couple of laughs from the other campers at the table, which just made the boy grin and continue on. He's distracted by sudden movement into the building, eyes catching on one of the Apollo girls coming in to eat, he couldn't remember her name at the moment, Clytemnestra or something. Maybe Cassandra, something classic. Didn't matter now that he had the sun on the brain.
"Guys, guys, guys, guys-" Finn says quickly, trying to capture the attention of most of his siblings and other stragglers. He pauses, head cocking to the side. "And gals, sorry."
"When was the last time we had a honest to the gods good interaction with another house, hm? Too long, yeah?" Finn grins crookedly, eyes sparkling with sudden mischief.
Cleonia got her food before sitting down at the Apollo table. Away from all of the other kids. It's not that she didn't like them or that she wasn't fond of people. People tended not to be that fond of her. They found it weird that she was at camp since she was about 6. But her mother was a demigod and knew how dangerous it could be. Cleonia looked over at the Ares kids and waved. They liked her. Cleonia understood the Ares kids as well.
She scanned her surroundings, always being aware was something she was taught. Cleonia caught Finn's gaze and smiled slightly. She liked the Hermes kids. They were funny. She looked back down at her breakfast and continued to eat.
Georgie made her way to the Apollo table, spotting one of the campers sitting alone. Cleonia, if she remembered correctly. She hadn't really spoken to her, aside from a quick 'hello' in passing. Maybe it was about time to rectify that.
She sat down across from Cleonia, flashing her a smile. "Hey! Cleonia, right? I know we haven't really talked much."
Cleonia smiled slightly, "Hey Georgie." She never minded Georgie. Cleonia looks away from Finn and focused on Georgie, "Can I help you?" It wasn't that she didn't like the girl, she was just apprehensive. She didn't trust people.
Georgie shrugged, brushing a stray hair out of her face. "I just realized that I've been here for four years, and I barely know anything about you. I mean, we're family, right? I want to get to know you."
Thea was lounging in the grass half-asleep when she hears the call for dinner. She yawns, and gets up, slowing walking over to join the rest of the Demeter Cabin. She sees Brandon walking towards dinner as well, alone and late. He usually was a little late, preferring to finish what he was working on, and arriving alone. Thea waves hello, but as usual, Brandon ignores her, and Thea sighs, drifting back over to the Demeter table to join everybody for dinner.
Georgie shrugged, brushing a stray hair out of her face. "I just realized that I've been here for four years, and I barely know anything about you. I mean, we're family, right? I want to get to know you."
Cleonia couldn't help it but laugh, "Family huh? I've been here since I was 6, so about 11 years and 'family' has absolutely no role here. Sure, people can say it but their actions are different." She nods over to the rest of table, "I'm a kid of Apollo just like everyone else here at this table but because my mother is the daughter of Ares, they treat me different. Like I'm not supposed to be here. So before their convinced that you are traitor to our father, I suggest you go sit with them." Cleonia normally wasn't this cold but she didn't want Georgie to feel out of place like she did. She went back to eating silently.
(Just curious, are we going to just vibe around camp or are we going to have an inciting incident™ to gather everyone together?)
(It depends on what you all want. I'm thinking we should have an incident. I'm thinking of making another oc. Who's a child of Hades. So maybe when she comes to camp. Let me know what yall want)
Georgie blinked. "Just because of your mom? That doesn't seem fair." She replied, glancing at the rest of the table. "And I highly doubt they'd call me a traitor just for talking to you. It's not like I'm breaking any rules."
Cleonia shrugs, "You do what you want." She finished eating and hummed to herself quietly. Her voice was enchanting so she made sure to be quiet. She didn't want to cause someone to do anything against their will.
Looking up, she caught Finn's gaze and got the feeling that the Hermes cabin was about to cause trouble.
(Going to try and rope Adin into this, if you don't want me to @imNOTdenki just lemme know and I'll change it.)
Finn had indeed been looking up and over at the Apollo table, but he quickly ducks his head when Cleonia catches his gaze. He grins sheepishly at the other kids at his table, all of whom had started huddling closer together to whisper furtively to each other, always a sign of trouble for the Hermes cabin.
"I'm just saying- It'd be funny." Finn is saying, the food at the table long forgotten as plates are shoved out of the way to make space for people leaning in, elbows on the table.
There's a couple enthusiastic nods at this statement and Finn grins. And then just as quickly frowns.
"But where would we get all the eggs? No it wouldn't work. Adin? Any ideas?"
(thank you lol)
Adin was among the kids at the Hermes table, and he smirked slightly at the ideas people were coming up with. He loved getting the jump on people, and especially doing pranks that they would surely all laugh at.
Well the Hermes kids at least.
"Hear me out..everyone could always just grab the plate, ask for a bunch of eggs and that's how we get our eggs." He suggested, looking over at all of the tables.
"I guess we could always go with a different idea…hm…stealing something seems too…simple. I don't know, what if we …" He whispered into Finn's ear, chuckling. "what if we put blue food dye into the swimming area, than everyone would come out blue. That or…we could put butter on the climbing wall." He spoke, known for being that menace with his pranks around camp.
He pulled away from finn, "just saying."
Wynn said his goodbyes to the Apollo girl, wishing they had at least a little longer to talk. Well, he'd get his chances later for sure. He moved to get his breakfast, and then sit down at a table, which wasn't full to the brim. A lot of kids liked to just take it and eat in the forge so they could finish their projects, he didn't mind staying out for a little before heading in.
Cleonia finished eating and before anyone could stop her, went over to the Hermes table. After the Ares kids, Hermes kids were her favorite. Perhaps it was because their fathers got along so well. She looked at Finn and Adin, "You guys have the look. What are you up to?"
Finn is busy staring at Adin like he's just found his new favorite person. Or a long-lost brother. Well technically that one was true, he was his brother, just not long lost, they were literally two bunks down from each other. And had spoken before. So the metaphor really fell through.
He looks up when Cleonia comes over though, and his brain short circuits again as he tries to remember his name.
"Hey, C!" Finn hedges his bets. "What look? We're all cherubs over here." The redhead beams at her, looking distinctly not at all innocent. Or cherub-like, too much like a den of foxes really.
Cleonia scoffed and sat down next to Finn, "Listen Finn. I know how the Hermes cabin works." She loves Finn's hair. The way you could pick him out from any crowd. "I won't let tell anyone…."
She flipped her golden-brown hair out of her face and tilted her head.
(If anyone is interested in interacting with Dove, she’s outside)
