(So I’ll just pilot 3 characters at a time here so I don’t get overwhelmed 😔)

Somewhere in the Spider-Society HQ (dramatic music)

Jasper and Miles were standing next to each other, talking excitedly about something. Jasper held her sketchbook under one arm, as usual, while Miles had his headphones around his neck. Miles crossed his arms and said something in Spanish, his voice a few octaves deeper than normal. He seemed to be doing an impression of someone (I think we know who). Jasper started laughing at him.

Vorsicht, Miles, vielleicht hört er es.

“Jasper, you know I don’t know German. I can barely speak my own languages!”

“That’s the point!”

Phantom slipped into the room at some point, holding something in her hands. She looked a bit nervous and shaky. She looked around, then sat down in a corner away from the others. She looked down and started fidgeting with whatever was in her hands.

Kreo was enjoying a patented spider burger in the cafeteria. Despite how weird the concept was, it was a very high quality burger. Delicious.

(Damn look at these short responses, it would be a shame if I-)

Nova seemed to be in a good mood. Good mood generally meaning she didn’t glare at everyone who made eye-contact with her. But she was also astoundingly bored. And this meant that she would have to find someone to inflict her presence upon. She adjusted the collar on her leather jacket and stepped inside a room. She looked around, noting the people there. One in particular caught her eye. An old friend.

She took a few strides over to her, smiling. “Well, fancy seeing you here, Phantom. Been a while, hm?”

Ominously standing in front of his array of computer screens, as always, was Miguel O’Hara. He stared blankly as he glanced over all the information, and as still as a statue while he did it. The only thing that made him move—a swift snap of his head to look behind him—was the soft clump-clump of heavy-booted footsteps from behind him.

“Buenos tardes, O’Hara,” a slightly mechanical voice said. “I assume you know the mission is completed?”

Miguel turned to face the person. “Yes, Dante. Good work.”

Dante’s head tilted. He’s in a less annoying mood than usual. “Thank you. I’ll be gone then.” He turned to leave, and with no further comment from Miguel, he did.

(Bro does everything ominously ☠️ he fr thinks he’s the main character)

Phantom looked up at Nova, a bit startled. “Oh- hi.” She stood up, putting the object in her pocket. “You seem like you’re in a good mood.”

Jasper was gesturing all over the place, rambling on about some random thing while Miles listened patiently. That was one reason they were good friends, he tolerated her weird little rabbit trails.

Miles gestured with his head towards the room’s exit. “Wanna walk around?”

Jasper nodded, then jogged out of the room, soon followed by Miles.

Kreo tosses the remains of the Spider-burger(tm) into the trash, and swings into the main hall, with dozens of dozen-hundred bridges. He flips and lands on one of the higher elevations, then up to the ceiling. He stretches, then lies down(up) on the ceiling. As far as he could tell, all of his closer spider-people-co-workers were either doing something somewhere else, or busy with a mission of their own. So, not much to do but do some drawing. He pulls out a journal, and begins drawing pictures of the last anomaly he had fought.

Jasper suddenly appeared next to Kreo, crouching down as Miles shot a web and swung next to Jasper, hanging there and staring at Jasper in slight annoyance.

“Hi!” Jasper said eagerly.

Miles blinked at Jasper. “Why?”

Jasper poked Miles in the head. “Because.” She stared at Kreo, eyes wide with curiosity. “What’cha drawing?”

Kreo answers still focused on the drawing. "The Doc Ock I caught the other day. It was from a cyberpunk looking dimension, so their whole outfit was really cool. So I wanted to draw it." Once he finishes the drawing, he turns the book around to show it his drawing to Jasper. The Cyberpunk Doc Ock was androgynous with short silver hair, and the universal Doc Ock sunglasses. Their tentacle arms look to be made of sleek, slightly purple futuristic steel, having glowing streaks running through each arm.

Jasper tilted her head. “Ooooh! That’s really cool. I draw, too!” She rummaged around in her bag, then pulled out her own sketchbook. The black cover was slightly worn and covered with stickers.

Miles shrugged and flipped around to sit next to Kreo and Jasper, silently watching Jasper flip through the pages of her sketchbook.

Nova glanced at the object for a moment curiously as Phantom hid it away. Wonder what that is. “I am,” she said, now looking at Phantom again. “How is it being back? I hear your little friend convinced you.” Her tone held a hint of something hidden, though unplaceable. Her eyes narrowed as a small smile appeared on her face.

Dante, now walking through HQ, noticed something off. Or, someone. Because the someone in question appeared to be taking random things from. . . anywhere. And there wasn’t any discrimination on what he seemed to be stealing.

Behind Dante’s fanged armor helmet, his expression was one of confusion. “What are you doing?”

Kreo sits up so he can see the book easier. He leans forward to get a better view of the sketches Jasper is showing to him.

@the-void-phantasmic group

(wheezing)
(Btw the mystery object is just a fidget cube)

Phantom nervously clasped her hands together, then shrugged. “It’s… fine. Taking a while to get used to being back. And… being around so many people.” She glances away from Nova. Is she mad? But she just said she was in a good mood. . .

Jasper stopped at one page in particular, tapping it excitedly. “This one! I’m really proud of this.” She angled her sketchbook to make it easier for Kreo to see. It was a drawing of a city’s skyline, with Jasper swinging between buildings in the distance.

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

Nova simply hums in response. “Tune them out. They’re just moving, noise-making obstacles.” In her mind, that’s all who people were. Barely worth her time, and even less when she had something she was determined to do.

On her shoulder, a small, shiny black mass appears. The little symbiote’s head pops up from the mass and looks at Phantom with a tiny fangy grin. ”Hi.”

(Friend :)

@the-void-phantasmic group

(Why is symbiote cute tho)

Phantom sighed. “It’s kind of hard to do that when you’re constantly on high alert.” She blinked at the symbiote when it appeared. “Hi.” She pulled out her fidget cube again, and small clicking noises came from the little buttons and switches.

"Oooh, very nice!" Kreo says as he looks at Jasper's drawing. "Is that from your home dimension?"

@the-void-phantasmic group

Jasper nodded, smiling at Kreo. “Yeah. It took a really long time to finish.”

Miles tilted his head. “I got to see the drawing process. She cursed a lot,” he said. He laughed a bit. “She’d mess up a line so many times and be like-“ He cursed in badly pronounced German and pretended to throw a pencil.

Jasper punched Miles in the arm, earning an offended look from him. “Not true. And your pronunciation is awful.”

Gwen walked through a portal, holding a Starbucks cup in her hand.

“Hey, Glowstick, I’m back,” she said to Miguel, giving him a short wave with her free hand. “How’s your ominous staring at screens like you’re the main character going?”

(GWEN’S INTRO IS SHORTER THAN MY CAT WHEN SHE WAS A BABY LMAO)
(‘Twas rushed 😔 I don’t take criticism)

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

(Shame, I have criticisms /j)

“I can tell you’re on high alert now, too. Just talking to me.” Nova disregarded the appearance of her symbiote. It wasn’t unusual—and for some reason, it took a liking to Phantom. What she did pay attention to was the clicking noises. Click-click-click-click- It bothered her if she didn’t count them. She had to, even if it was just subconscious.

The symbiote stared at Phantom with a little head tilt. ”Anxiety?”

Miguel turned to face Gwen, a look of annoyance crossing his face at her little quip. “That isn’t my name. And it isn’t ominous or like a main character. It’s my job.” He sighed. “Is there anything specific you need to tell me?”
