Nova glanced at the object for a moment curiously as Phantom hid it away. Wonder what that is. “I am,” she said, now looking at Phantom again. “How is it being back? I hear your little friend convinced you.” Her tone held a hint of something hidden, though unplaceable. Her eyes narrowed as a small smile appeared on her face.
Dante, now walking through HQ, noticed something off. Or, someone. Because the someone in question appeared to be taking random things from. . . anywhere. And there wasn’t any discrimination on what he seemed to be stealing.
Behind Dante’s fanged armor helmet, his expression was one of confusion. “What are you doing?”
Kreo sits up so he can see the book easier. He leans forward to get a better view of the sketches Jasper is showing to him.
(wheezing)
(Btw the mystery object is just a fidget cube)
Phantom nervously clasped her hands together, then shrugged. “It’s… fine. Taking a while to get used to being back. And… being around so many people.” She glances away from Nova. Is she mad? But she just said she was in a good mood. . .
Jasper stopped at one page in particular, tapping it excitedly. “This one! I’m really proud of this.” She angled her sketchbook to make it easier for Kreo to see. It was a drawing of a city’s skyline, with Jasper swinging between buildings in the distance.
Nova simply hums in response. “Tune them out. They’re just moving, noise-making obstacles.” In her mind, that’s all who people were. Barely worth her time, and even less when she had something she was determined to do.
On her shoulder, a small, shiny black mass appears. The little symbiote’s head pops up from the mass and looks at Phantom with a tiny fangy grin. ”Hi.”
(Friend :)
(Why is symbiote cute tho)
Phantom sighed. “It’s kind of hard to do that when you’re constantly on high alert.” She blinked at the symbiote when it appeared. “Hi.” She pulled out her fidget cube again, and small clicking noises came from the little buttons and switches.
"Oooh, very nice!" Kreo says as he looks at Jasper's drawing. "Is that from your home dimension?"
Jasper nodded, smiling at Kreo. “Yeah. It took a really long time to finish.”
Miles tilted his head. “I got to see the drawing process. She cursed a lot,” he said. He laughed a bit. “She’d mess up a line so many times and be like-“ He cursed in badly pronounced German and pretended to throw a pencil.
Jasper punched Miles in the arm, earning an offended look from him. “Not true. And your pronunciation is awful.”
Gwen walked through a portal, holding a Starbucks cup in her hand.
“Hey, Glowstick, I’m back,” she said to Miguel, giving him a short wave with her free hand. “How’s your ominous staring at screens like you’re the main character going?”
(GWEN’S INTRO IS SHORTER THAN MY CAT WHEN SHE WAS A BABY LMAO)
(‘Twas rushed 😔 I don’t take criticism)
(Could I add a second oc?)
(Shame, I have criticisms /j)
“I can tell you’re on high alert now, too. Just talking to me.” Nova disregarded the appearance of her symbiote. It wasn’t unusual—and for some reason, it took a liking to Phantom. What she did pay attention to was the clicking noises. Click-click-click-click- It bothered her if she didn’t count them. She had to, even if it was just subconscious.
The symbiote stared at Phantom with a little head tilt. ”Anxiety?”
Miguel turned to face Gwen, a look of annoyance crossing his face at her little quip. “That isn’t my name. And it isn’t ominous or like a main character. It’s my job.” He sighed. “Is there anything specific you need to tell me?”
(Damn 😔)
Phantom stayed silent for a moment. She was also listening to the clicks, mostly because she liked the way they sounded. It relaxed her. She looked up at Nova again and bit the inside of her cheek. “I don’t know, I guess… it feels like you’re annoyed. Which is probably stupid.” She glanced at the symbiote and nodded.
Gwen rolled her eyes him. “Come on, that was funny.” She frowned. “I know, I know. ‘The fate of the multiverse’ and stuff. But why can’t it be both?” She raised her eyebrows for a moment, then shrugged. “Not really. I just felt like plaguing you with my presence for a bit.”
Thea was in the lab, working on creating a sort of escape-pod sort of thing. About 3 different times now, Kreo had, out loud, mentioned his spidey-sense going off, then immediately got bodied by the enemy. He had a tendency to just ignore it, or his reaction time was just a little slow. So she was working on an attachment that would function as an automatic web shooter that would zip the spider-person away from the danger detected by the spider-sense.
Currently the trouble was figuring out how to get the device to be able to sync up with the spider-sense. She had been working on it for about 6 hours now. (She has not had lunch, and had declined Kreo's offer to grab a Spider-Burger.)
Kreo chuckles at the pair's banter. "It really shows. Its a really good drawing! I definitely can't draw landscapes like that half as well."
(thank you :)))
Nova made eye contact with Phantom with a smile. “Oh, not at all. None of your observations are stupid,” she said, glancing back at the exit of the room.
“I’ll be leaving now, then. Wouldn’t want to keep you uncomfortable.” Nova turned, and started walking to go back outside. She glanced back at Phantom and waved. “Tell your friend hello for me~“
The symbiote looked at Nova for a second, and then it waved a small black tendril at Phantom. It then slithered away, disappearing once again.
“Why can’t it be just as it is?” Miguel raised an unamused eyebrow at Gwen. “You’ve succeeded in that.”
(Frem :))
(Just a lil guy)
Phantom stared at Nova for a long moment, then waved awkwardly just as the symbiote disappeared. “Bye…” She looked around, then went back to clicking the buttons on her fidget cube.
Gwen sighed dramatically. “You’re no fun. I’ll just leave you to your totally not ominous staring.” She turned and started walking away. “Bye, Glowstick!” Without another word, she zipped out of the room.
Jasper looked down, her smile growing wider. “Thanks. I can teach you sometime, if you want,” she offered.
Miles pulled out his phone, narrowing his eyes slightly. “I gotta go. Mamá wants me to help her cook today.” He waved at Jasper and Kreo, smiling. “See ya!” He jumped down from the ceiling, landing on one of the bridges and running off. (Into the unknooooown-)
(Heya, cinnamon, you alive?)
Kreo grins. "That would be helpful actually, yeah." He waves goodbye as Miles twips away.
(Theas just going to be working in the lab until something or someone bothers/talks to her. Just so I don't need to restate what she's up to each post)
( @CinnamonTheBagelDefibrillator, I know I said I wouldn’t be too finicky about responding, but you’re holding up the roleplay a bit. I may open your spot to someone else if this continues to be an issue)
(I feel like there's a ton going on with how many people and ocs and stuff there are, and I don't want to conflict with the storyline that's going on, that's why I haven't been saying anything.)
(Echo tried to interact with you-)
(When? I haven't been able to read everything, I mostly just skim through to get the basic story)
(If you want I can leave)
(On the first post of this page-)
(I’m sorry, but skimming might cause you to miss stuff like this)
(On the first post of this page, Cinna, I gave you something to respond to with Dante. I’ll just respond now with other characters, though. Take your time.)
Miguel rolled his eyes and muttered something in under his breath. Where did that nickname even come from?
Just then, Lyla’s yellow hologram appeared hovering next to his head. “Ya know, you should get out of here yourself. You’ve been in here foooor-“
“I know how long I’ve been in here, Lyla.”
“Then you know why you should take a break!”
Nova, now outside, disappeared into the crowd of many spider-people walking along the branching bridges that made up the majority of the spider-society. Mostly not paying attention to the business around her, she settled into a slow walking pace and let her thoughts drift. Look out. Above.
Nova looked up and moved to the side just in time to avoid Miles landing from the ceiling and running down the bridge she was on. “Hey, watch it!” She called out as he dashed past her.
