Emaria lifted her chin slightly and exhaled through her nose as the late girl looked over at her. She noted the different color eyes she had, a detail the young mind fairy had failed to notice at the other fae's arrival, but didn't pick up on the changing hair color. As their gazes met, Emaria didn't shy away. Her eyebrows arched at the other girl's tone, and the corner of her lips twitched up into a smirk.

"Nope," she replied simply. "No issues here."

Her attention shifted to the cold smile on Headmistress Greta's face and then the plant quivering from the purple-haired fae's power. Emaria assumed she had Earth fairy abilities.

"Do you want her to lose control?" she asked sharply. Somewhere in her mind, she recognized that snapping at the headmistress of her new school might not be the best idea, but since when did Emaria listen to that little voice in her head? "If no one has any more questions, which I'm sure they don't, I think we're done here."

Jasmine was still trembling, she desperately needed some fresh air, some plants to grow, a pillow to let her frustration out on. But as the Headmistress said, she couldn't. Not yet. She clenched her teeth.

(how does Greta tilt her head at herself?)

(hey- don't judge me im tired, and i think y'all still figured out what i meant ;-;)

Serena laughs quietly, her next words ominous. "I'm glad."

Greta turns to Emaria. "I am simply. . . observing. No intervention until lives are actively being threatened is my policy, and the school's. I doubt Jasmine is a very capable Fae in regards to her abilities, the way she's losing control of them, meaning I need only be worried about the potted plant itself."

Emaria squinted her eyes a moment at the other fae. She gave her a brief assessment, then decided to hold off until they’d left the headmistress’s office.

Though her eyebrows arched pointedly at Headmistress Greta’s philosophy. “That’s twisted,” she cut in. “And not how I was taught.”

The mind fairy had a certain reputation standing up to her parents and authority figures. She also was always ready to defend or comfort another fae her age. Genterally, those two went hand in hand.

Emaria gently placed a hand in Jasmine’s back and rubbed to calm her down. “I have no doubt Jasmine is capable. But if she can’t harness her emotions the right way, that become dangerous. And then lives are being threatened. You’ll only drag out the inevitable.”

She pressed her lips together and took in a long breath. “Are we done here?” she asked again, fixating a firm stare at the headmistress.

Serena continues to smile at Emaria, reading the girl like an open book, but not letting herself get read in return.

"Your parents are soft, Ms. Emaria Dowling. This is not Alfea. This is my school, and I will run it how I see fit." Greta says dismissively. "As for Jasmine, a good Fae is in perfect control of emotion and power, using one to fuel the other. Her emotions are running rampant, therefore she is not in control - making her an incapable Fae."

Syndra nervously looks at the trembling plant, and back at Jasmine. She wasn't entirely sure of the context, but Greta was most definitely being overly cruel….. She should probably say something….. No, lets not do that, that'd be bad and awkward. Thus, social anxiety forces her to just silently look at the individuals in this tense conversation with worry. She attempts to calm down the plant, stabilizing it so that Jasmine's magic doesn't have any adverse effects on the innocent flora.

@Avhira-The-Eldritch-Horror group

Jasmine frowned. "You want control?" she muttered under her breath. She glanced at the plant, before deciding better of it and glancing out the window. Hedges and trees started blooming, blossoming with fruits that weren't in season, growing a bit bigger as well. She seemed to have considered impaling the headmistress earlier. It was probably for the best that random trees outside were giving off fruit.

Emaria's entire body tightened with rage. Sure, she and her mother disagreed often enough in private, but Emaria wouldn't let her name or school be talked down to. "Run your school however you like," Emaria said coldly. "But never speak ill of my parents or their school again."

She noticed as the tension in the room seemed to calm after Jasmine released her magic into the plants outside the office. Still, the headmistress hadn't answered her question. How long did Greta intend on keeping them here? Emaria was a ticking time bomb, waiting to go off.

@lord-of-the-carnival group

"Or you'll do what, Ms. Dowling? Run to Farah and tell her the headmistress of her daughter's new school is a mean, crotchity old woman? Get a hold of yourself." Greta snorts bluntly. "Now, you all are dismissed."

Serena laughs delightedly, giving Greta a middle finger salute as she spins out of the room.

She waits for Emaria to come out and her face takes on a more predatory and feral look.

"So, is there truly nothing you would like to say to me, or were you perhaps avoiding saying it in front of the headmistress?" she asks casually.

@emilyevewrites group

The mind fairy scoffed under her breath. “Please, Headmistress, you underestimate me. And Ms. Dowling is my mother. You can just call me Emaria.”

With that, she exited the office only to find the jaws of the heterochromic fae ready to close around her.

“No,” she answered shortly. “I have nothing to say to you.” She began walking down the hallway, not waiting long for the other two girls to leave.

@Avhira-The-Eldritch-Horror group

Jasmine rushed out, then thanked each of them. "Thank you. I don't remember which of you all stood up for me and helped me calm down, but thank you." She was breathing deeply. "Would any of you like to come eat the literal fruit of my anger? That sounded really corny.. i just don't know what else to call it.." The last part she muttered to herself

Syndra breathes out a sigh of relief once she finally leaves the room. The Headmistress was stressful to talk to…
When Jasmine asks, Syndra nods. "Sure! I'll join you for that. Their growth was a pretty impressive bit of magic… I wonder what their fruit tastes like…" Syndra warmly smiles at Jasmine.

Greta's eyes glow slightly as some unidentifiable pressure easily shatters through whatever barriers are around Emaria's mind and throttle her psyche. "Let me get one thing straight, Ms. Dowling. There is a reason why I have stayed headmistress of this school for the past millenium. Some bratty new blood is not going to be ending my term as headmistress any time soon, not even you."

With that, Greta lets the young Fae go and the door closes behind the group.

Serena smirks at Emaria.

"Alright then." she shrugs. She slips down the hall after Emaria

@Avhira-The-Eldritch-Horror group

Jasmine smiled warmly back at Syndra, looking around for a window. "Can you fly, or will we walk around the building?" Jasmine said kindly. Her wings shone and she unfolded them, grateful for the room to stretch.

"Uhh…. No? All I can do is make visuals and make plants grow. I don't have wings or anything….So yeah, walking is good. Gets your blood flowing, and good exercise!" Syndra gazes at Jasmine's wings with interest. "I like your wings."

@emilyevewrites group

Emaria's eyes began to glow, mirroring the color of Greta's as the older fairy pierced her mind. Panic seized her as the headmistress's power took over. Her breathing became shallow and only returned to normal when the headmistress released her mind.

Shit. Only Farah had been in her mind before, and it hadn't felt like that. It unsettled Emaria, and she left quickly afterward. And she didn't like being called Ms. Dowling.

Emaria made sure to walk ahead of the other girls so they couldn't see her face. Her expression was anxious, irritated, and upset. She wanted to call her mother but didn't want to prove Greta right. Besides, Emaria could handle this.

"Sorry, girls, but I'll pass on eating the fruit of Jasmine's anger," she replied simply. "As interesting as that sounds, I'm going to head back to the dorms. You guys have fun though."

"Oh, thanks! i thought all fae had wings…..Are you ready to go?" She asked, holding out her hand. "And… do you know how to get outside?" She said, realizing she didn't know.

Syndra thinks for a moment. "Um… No? I haven't had the time to figure out the topography…. Maybe theres a map somewhere?" She suggests hopefully.

@emilyevewrites group

Emaria noticed the other girls heading for the stairs. "See you later then," she remarked, offering a small smile. Though the smile dropped off her face as the third girl followed her instead of keeping up with the other two. Obviously, she couldn't take a hint. Still, the mind fairy kept walking, making sure not to look at the other girl since she was still turning over the feeling of Headmistress Greta seizing unwanted control over her mind.

"Hopefully… " Jasmine muttered, looking around. "It will be easiest to find a way out if we go downstairs… I think the stairs are over there." She pointed.

"Sounds good! Hope we don't get lost…." Syndra heads down the stairwell, checking the walls for some sort of map to help their navigation.

Jasmine flew after her, also checking the walls.

Serena could take a hint, but this is one she was choosing to ignore because she enjoyed being a bit of a bitch at times.

After a couple minutes of walking, the Bond Fae waltzes up to Emaria and smirks.

"Seems like the Headmistress really got your panties in a twist, didn't she?" she asks, her tone sweet.

@emilyevewrites group

Emaria had just gotten to the point where she had calmed down enough to think clearly, and that was of course when the other girl decided to speak up.

"The Headmistress had no effect on my panties whatsoever," she spat back. "And neither did you, as much as you seem to like thinking you did." She inhaled slowly as she realized what she had done – given the other girl the perfect ammunition. It wasn't Emaria's fault she couldn't control her tongue when she got angry.

@lord-of-the-carnival group

Serena laughs delightedly.

"It very much sounds like she did, you know. And I never said anything about me, but now that you mention it, I seem to be twisting something." she says casually, folding her hands behind her back. "But hey, if I'm not getting anything in a twist, no need to sound so mad, is there?"
