"You can either let me help you or I'm leaving." She gave him an ultimatum. "But you can't protect me like this. So I will leave if you dint let me help."
He looks at her, silent. He shouldn’t have showed her this side of him. None of this would have happened. Now he was stuck. What if she told someone? What would he even do then. “Why do you keep trying to talk about things I don’t wanna talk about! It’s none of your business!”
"Because you need to tell someone." She sat back on the bed, leaning back on her hands. "If you keep it all bottled up you're going to break. And you might be able to put the pieces back together. You're a good person. I don't want to see you die"
He whines, “I- I can’t tell anyone…!”
"And why not?" She raised her eyebrow, looking at him.
Amyntas bites his lip, shaking slightly.
"You have to tell me why. Give me a good reason and I'll stop." For now, is what she didn't say.
Amyntas whimpers, then mutters. “He threatened to kill my parents if I told anyone…”
"Then we'll kill him first. Your parents are very capable. They won't die easily. We can protect you if you let us." Areilla had a sinking feeling in her stomach. She didn't like where this was going.
Amyntas shakes his head. “You don’t understand…”
"Then help me understand." Ariella reached out her hand as a peace offering.
He moves away, shaking. He was slowly going into a state of paranoia and fear, his eyes wide.
"We're safe here. I won't let anyone hurt you ir your family. But I need to know so I can protect you."
He shakes his head. “I’m supposed to protect you!”
"And you can't do that until you let me help you. So let me." Ariella gave him a pointed look.
Amyntas whines, hiding his face.
"I need you to tell me, Amyntas. It's the only way this can work."
He whimpers, “I-I’m…too scared…” He whispers.
"You have to be brave," she whispered, "you're my strong knight remember? But you have to be brave."
He shakes his head.
"You can do it. You're brave and strong." She whispered. "You just need to tell me. I can do the rest."
He shakes his head. “No! I don’t wanna talk about it!”
"Then I can't help you if you don't tell me." She shook her head.
He whines, “I-i dont need help…”
"You do. You're just not ready to accept it."
Amyntas covers himself with the blanket, shaking.
Ariella just looked down at him. "It's never going to stop. It's going to keep haunting you, even after death, if you can't make terms with it now. If we can't deal with it now. It will never leave you."
Amyntas whimpers, “SHUT UP!”
"You're upset because you know I'm right. Don't take it out on me. I'm not the one you're upset with." She crossed her arm.
