Name: Topaz
Tribe (if dragon) : SkyWing
Pronouns: she/her
Personality: She is grumpy (who would have guessed, lol), she tends to look down on people, and she thinks everyone is annoying. Once she somehow makes friends with someone, she is extremely protective over that friend, often getting violent towards anyone who threatens/harms them. She often has to be restrained when someone annoys her, as she’s more of an “actions now, think later” kind of dragon.
Description: Topaz is a little small for a SkyWing, with orange scales and yellow scales near her underbelly and talons. She has darker orange speckles on her snout, resembling freckles. She has a single gold necklace with a skyfire stone as the pendant. Her eyes are yellow.
Backstory: Her mother insisted that she goes to the academy, to meet dragons from other tribes. (WIP)
Other: Topaz is slightly prejudiced against other tribes (especially the RainWings), often sticking to her own group. She can be persuaded to make friends with other tribes, though 👀

Name: Taharuu (Taha for short, named after a black sand beach.)
Tribe: SeaWing/NightWing (Mostly SeaWing)
Pronouns: She/Her
Personality: She prefers to keep to herself and overthinks a lot. She has a hard time sticking up for herself and would rather get her payback in secret. She is creative and enjoys making clay sculptures and jewelry.
Description: She is larger than most other dragonets and has dark bluish-grey scales. She has NightWing star-scales on her fins and wing undersides. She has SeaWing glow-scales on her body. She wears silver rings on her horns.
Backstory: She lived a relatively normal life in the rainforest with her parents, but she was generally looked down upon for not having any NightWing abilities. Her father sent her to Jade Mountain to hopefully make friends.
Other: She believes the Dragonets of Destiny caused the destruction of Summer Palace, and is a little bitter she never got to see it. Though she doesn't have SeaWing gills, she can hold her breath for an impressively long time. She struggles with hunting and flying because she never got much practice in the rainforest.

you all find yourselves on the ladge in front of the entrance among many others, saying your goodbyes to family and friends. as everyone walks in one by one, you're greeted by fatespeaker, who are provided everyone with a map and welcome scroll. hatchet, Taharuu and Rosefinch are clawmates, and Fireworm, dartfrog and Topaz share a room as well.
dartfrog sets their few belongings near the bed of sand, and camouflaged by the door to wait for his new clawmates.

Topaz trudged into her room, grumbling. “Why did Mother have to send me here? She knows I hate the other tribes…” she growled under her breath.

"why hello there!" said dartfrog, suddenly materializing next to topaz, turning a bright yellow and hearing everything she just said, "hope you don't hate me too much, cause im your new clawmate!" they said, his tail wagging a bit and a dog-like manner.

Topaz jumped back, startled. She growled at Dartfrog before registering they said. “Oh. My new clawmate. Great,” she said, sarcastically, narrowing her eyes.

Topaz rolled her eyes, looking around the room. “I hope I get to leave soon…” she grumbled. She decided to stay in there for a while, so she could avoid as many other dragons as possible.

(btw since the characters will probably be in separate places a lot, would it be easier to have someone make sure everybody gets a turn to talk about where they are? or are we fine, and im kinda just overreacting?)

(The Harry Potter roleplay I have used a loose turns system, which is overridden when there’s a one-on-one interaction and stuff like that. Maybe that will work?)

(that could probably work. so i guess if everyone introduces their characters, and we start working (loosely) in that order, unless a character is replying to someone else or something. it sounds like a pretty good idea, you guys want to try it out?)

(Maybe like a narrator person who could announce which characters are in the scene happening right now? But it would kinda suck if the RP was slow and they weren't online. Not too sure myself, as this is my first Forum Roleplay.)

Fireworm entered the room, immediately noticing Topaz's presence. "Oh! H-hello…" He fell silent, standing there awkwardly.
He hadn't expected to meet any of his clawmates so soon, and this one looked particularly grumpy. Fireworm kind of wished Rosefinch was with him. She was always better at conversations than he was.
Rosefinch entered her own room, finding it empty. She looked around, setting her things aside. The cave was neat enough. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad!

Topaz looked at Fireworm. “Another one? Seriously?” She said, her tail lashing. She straightened up, glaring at him. “And who might you be?”

Hatchet had been quite nervous about going to Jade Mountain, considering its history. Her mother had said that this would be good for her, and would help her socialize and learn about the other tribes. The SeaWing didn't really think this was necessary, she had a friend, that was enough, right?
Staring at the entrance, the inky dragon took one hesitant step forward, trying to tune out the noise of the chattering dragonets. She was careful not to twitch her tail, as she didn't want to smack someone in the face with it; that would be an unfortunate way to greet someone.
Hatchet paused, sighing. She couldn't do it.

Taharuu cast her eyes over the growing crowd of dragonets, her heart sinking with each new clatter of talons. This was nothing like the rainforest, she realized, dismayed. No shadows to melt into, no rivers to sink into, and no canopies to take cover in. She shot a hurt look at her NightWing father, who was hurrying her towards the entrance cave.
Cautiously, she stepped inside.
