For orbit parties, humankind was at least surviving on earth, despite their many failures and the gradual death that they brought with their machines and war. However, in the midst of each nation being tied up in their own affairs, no one paid attention to those who considered themselves psychics or mediums, ignoring the doomsday cults because that sort of stuff wasn't real. But the alignment of the stars changed all that. What was once just an absurd tinfoil tale theory turned into the new high-res hallucination. Creatures of myth and legend resurfaced, causing destruction and mayhem on a much greater scale than anyone could have predicted, except, of course, the psychics. Or those of them who actually had the gift, of course.

It has been several orbit parties since this apocalypse, and by now those surviving have mostly adjusted to their high-res hallucination of monsters. Some of the surviving humans have banded together in order to survive, trying to create new cities from the remains of the old ones as they do their best to live in a world where they are not the predators, but the prey. However, due to the monsters that were released when the stars aligned, something else must have been introduced into the environment as well, changing the ecosystem and creatures of earth who survived. Some of the humans who survived are slowly starting to develop what can only be described as powers or affinities that had not existed previously.

Most people are just trying to survive in this strange new world, but some are trying to seek out the help of the creatures who might be on the side of the humans in order to stop the world from being completely overrun by those hellbent on destruction. While it is a noble cause, it is far more deadly than banding together with other humans and using one's newly acquired powers to survive (sometimes even at the expense of others).

Essentially, this takes place after the apocalypse happens and earth is overrun by mythological creatures from all sides of the globe. Character A is trying to do the noble thing and help humanity by finding the creatures who are good and willing to help keep the humans from going extinct, while character B is just trying to survive, and is somehow beginning to thrive in this new world due to their powerful ability before character A asks them to help on their quest. At first character B does not want to help humanity, since what has humankind ever done for them? But A's charisma and the secret they are harboring (the knowledge and whereabouts of a monster that will grant nearly any wish) win them over to help with this quest. While they originally don't care for A (and may even hate them), they eventually begin to fall for them as the pair try to help humanity–whether humankind deserves it or not.

I don't mind being either character, and any pairing is fine (gxg, gxb, bxb, etc). I may request a writing sample or a link to a current rp if we haven't rped before or I haven't got an brain b^ubble of your writing style/length. I'm happy to answer any questions! I kinda pulled this plot out of my ass bc I have a few character brain b^ubbles I want to work on writing potentially for a grimoire, but don't wanna use the plot of that for an rp lol. :)

(here it is, it doesn't make much sense on its own but there was a scene before this that happened that contributed to this one, though, that one was too long to put as a writing sample so i opted for this one instead (it's still long but i hope it's okay?))

A soft clink can be heard as the bullet case falls to the floor. Jen stands up, grabbing his sniper rifle and holding it against him as he narrows his peepers at Jake from a distance, who was bleeding out. He would not let Jake die, not because he still considered him a friend, he didn't, but because he wanted Jake to live a long and torturous life. He hoped that everything he had done plagued his mind and wouldn't let him sleep at moonlit hours. He hoped he regretted every last life he had taken from him. His family.

Jake's peepers were wide as he yelled and his father's bullet missed and clipped his other shoulder. He hissed from the pain as if everything else wasn't enough, but now he was staring at his father's lifeless body on the floor. He looks up at the see-through wall where the bullet came from and immediately knew who was behind his father's death, Jen. The only question now was why? After everything he had done, why save him? The question gave him so much heebie jeebies he felt like he was choking on his own emotions.

It wasn't long after that Jen appeared in the doorway, looking at all the bodies and walking over them.
"You were always good at killing," Jen said, his peepers holding no sympathy. Jake cringed and looked away.
"Jen, you know I only had to do-"
"Shut up." He snapped. Jen grabbed Jake by the grabby limb and pulled him up. Jake let out a small cry as his wounds were moved around with the bullets still inside.
"Jen stop, it hurts-"
"It hurts?!" Jen laughed almost deliriously, feeling lightheaded from those wods alone.
"I only wish I could make you writhe more in pain," He said through gritted mouthstones. "You're going to the hospital, and you'll live. I'll keep you alive if it's the last thing I do. You'll live and get better and you'll have to live with everything you've done. And maybe one day, I'll come for your precious little sister and deathsnuggle her in front of you." Jen seemed to have turned into something dark, something he wasn't before- like he had snapped. But Jake deserved it. And he would keep this promise to Jake.
Jake panicked as he was dragged out the wobbly flip-shutter and thrown into Jen's van. His best friend had now become his worst enemy.

power: healing! he has the ability to heal both others and himself, however, it's pretty painful for him. the bigger the injury is, the more painful it is. he hasn't tried this on any major injuries, but the pain would likely incapacitate him. healing fatal injuries would almost certainly deathsnuggle him.

power: Impundulu Lightning government spy drone, can transform into the thunderbird which summons lightning from the skies, though not at will. The weather must be that of a thunderstorm or cloudy at most. The government spy drone can be controlled but currently has no master, and because of this Artemy can freely use lightning when the weather allows it. The lightning doesn't harm him if he decided to manipulate it with his hands. It depends on how long he uses it and how powerful he wants it to be that it becomes a problem as it weakens his body since in human form the body isn't quite adapted to be a vessel for lightning.
