(lol yessss)
(I kind of want my characters to go and have a long ass conversation.)
(with each other? I mean, go for it man)
(yes with each other, I will do it in a bit)
(thumbs up)
(quick recap: Alastor and Zeus are off meeting Eva, Cass and Liana. Lucky and Sinjoro are off on their own. Liam, Devon, and June are in conversation in the living room. Ronni and Lucas are also in the living room, half in the same conversation and half on their own. Ariella is in the kitchen by herself)
Alastor nodded his thanks to Liana, but she had already left for the well.
"His name is Zeus," He replied to Cassie as the big dog laid down on the ground and stared at the three of them.
"He's really nice, I promise. Would you like to pet him?" Alastor offered. He wondered if he should ask Eva if she wanted to come into the city with him and join their group.
She might not want to. I mean, if I had kids then I wouldn't trust them around a bunch of strangers either, he thought. Still wouldn't hurt to ask later, though.
(I am trying to type but I have something in my eye and I can't get it without ruining my eyeliner ;-;)
(Ariella just twiddle her thumbs rn)
(I had a hair in my eye- rip I got it thoβ¦back to typing)
(Is it ok if I just differ on who's talking by doing 'D:' or 'J:'?)
(Yeah, I think that's fine)
(SORRY IN ADVANCE IF THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE π)
June stood up, "I am going to chat with my brother for a minute" She said, grabbing Devon's arm and pulling him into the room they slept in, she sat him down on the bed and stood in front of him crossing her arms. Leaving the door open.
J: "Donevan"
D: "Junifer"
J: "You can't keep doing thisβ¦"
D: "doing what?"
J: "Acting soβ¦soβ¦distant!"
D: "I am not acting any different from normal"
J: "But you are! You are acting all secluded and and quiet..you don't have toβ¦you can trust them."
D: "β¦"
J: "Dev..they are not like her..they are not going to betray you"
D: "I never said that"
J: "Ugh!" she started cursing at him in french. "grow up! She is more than likely dead, so stop letting her control you!"
D: "You didn't have to deal with it, you don't understand"
J: More french cursing. "No I didn't, but I know you, you have told me about it. Grow up and make some fricken friends"
D: "Like you are any better, you come off too strong and you know it"
J: "Stop being afraid"
D: "Stop being overbearing"
J: "Fine, I will back off, if you stop hiding."
D: "I was not hiding-"
J: "Hiding who you really are Dev."
D: "Fine"
June sat beside her brother with a sigh.
J: "I am sorry for yelling"
D: "And you wonder why women frighten me"
J: "Ha ha, I am trying to apologize"
D: "it's fine J" (said like Jay)
J: "Now go make friends, they already kinda like me you frickin gay hermit"
Devon walked out of the room shaking his head, a slight smile on his face. He went over to the couch and sat down. Not being sure now to start a conversation with anyone, he just stayed quiet.
Ronni locked up again, slowly pulling her hand off his shoulder. She didn't understand why he would say that exactly, and certainly not right now, butβ¦
He's fragile, and you said you were going to give him a chance⦠Tanya admonished her.
She was quiet and still for a long minute, before she swallowed hard and nodded at him, almost imperceptibly.
Okayβ¦
Lucas nodded and smiled.
"Thanks." He said and went back to staring at his hands.
Lucas nodded and smiled. "Thanks." He said and went back to staring at his hands.
Ronni frowned, before tapping his arm.
Why?
Ronni frowned, before tapping his arm.
Why?
Lucas looked up at her again.
"Just for existing I guess," he told her "for trying to trust me."
Lucas looked up at her again. "Just for existing I guess," he told her "for trying to trust me."
Ronni blinked, confused. That was very kind, but it hadn't been what she'd meant.
She shook her head, then gestured a few things.
No, I meant why did you want me to trust you?

Lucas smiled at her.
"Because everyone needs that one person they can trust with everything." He told her "I want you to have that too, even if you don't like talking or people."

Ronni continued to look confused. Butβ¦ that's not how trust worksβ¦ you have to earn a deep level of trustβ¦
She didn't say that, but she knew Tanya would tell her to say something, so she did. Gesturing complex statements always took her a while though.
I don't trust anyone like what you're describing. Nobody. But I do trust you enough to believe you won't stab me in my sleep. For Ronni, that was a big step, and she hoped he would understand.

Lucas nodded.
"And that, my silent friend," he told her "would be step one in trusting someone because I too, believe you wouldn't stab me in my sleep, smother me, maybe, but not stab."
Lucas nodded. "And that, my silent friend," he told her "would be step one in trusting someone because I too, believe you wouldn't stab me in my sleep, smother me, maybe, but not stab."
Ronni nodded slowly. He at least got where she was coming from. That was good.
She thought for a moment, before pointing a him, then shrugging.
So⦠tell me about you?
Maybe if she got to know him, she'd trust him.
Maybe she'd find out why she shouldn't trust him.
And maybe she'd wind up with a friend.
Ariella hoped off the counter and walked to the door. She doubted anyone would notice if she left. And she wasn't going far. She was going to wait at the curb for Lucky to come back. She had scared off her one friend she had Mads and she wanted to make it right.
She sat down on the concrete and let the air warm her skin. The slight breeze whipped around the small pieces of hair that had fallen out of her braid.

Lucas blew a piece of golden blonde hair out of his eyes and smiled.
"Uhm, I'm Lucas and I have a dog named Clover and a younger sister Gabriella." He told her. "I don't like crowds and loud noises because of past experiences and once in middle school, I got stuck in a baby swing at a park and my friend had to call the fire department."
Ariella hoped off the counter and walked to the door. She doubted anyone would notice if she left. And she wasn't going far. She was going to wait at the curb for Lucky to come back.
Lucky rode for a while, until he managed to bring down the hurt in his chest. He couldn't figure out why he was so bothered, butβ¦
Well, his emotional state was garbage at the moment, and Ariella's resistance to even talking to the rest of the group was driving him a bit crazy.
He had just kind of ridden around the block in an ever widening circle, and had come upon a parking garage. He was reminded of what Ariella had said about the truck being crammed.
It took him a few minutes, but he managed to find a car that hadn't had the windows smashed or the locks ruined or the tires stolen or anything wrong with it that he could see. It was only a block over from their apartment, so if he went back and got Ronni, she might be able to hotwre it and they could use it. It was a 4 door sedan, average size, with plenty of trunk space. Very helpful.
He rode back to the apartment, arriving back about a minute later. The NYC blocks were big.
Ariella was sitting outside on the curb, and he hopped off Sinjoro near her.
"Found anoher car, like you asked. Gonna get Ronni to hotwire it." He started to head inside.
Ronni nodded as he spoke, and snickered when he mentioned the swing. She started to gesture, before shaking her head, and miming writing.
Got something I could write with?

Lucas nodded and dug in his bag for a pen, which was blue and he ripped a piece of black paper and handed all three of them to her, the journal so she could place the paper on it and make it easier for her to write, since the spiral notebook kept the paper on a hard, smooth surface.
Ariella looked up as Lucky approached her. She swallowed, expecting some sort of reaction, but he just brushed passed her. Hurt welled in her chest. She jumped up from her spot on the curb and she grabbed Lucky's arm. "Can we talk? Before you go in?"

Ronni wrote for a minute, before handing the sheet back to him.
You know my name, I like Ronni. My favorite color is blue and I don't really have any funny memories from highschool. I like mac&cheese, if that will ever exist again, and I get nervous around big crowds and big men.

Lucky stopped, swallowing hard. He turned to look at her and nodded slowly. "If you want to, but don't let me take up more of your time." He didn't say it angrily, just like he really believed she was wasting time and effort on him.

Lucas read it and nodded.
"Ah," he said "it sounds like you've had some traumatizing experiences with big guys like me then." He smiled softly at her. "I can't say I blame you though, I guess all guys like me are a bit scary."
Ariella dropped her hands to her front where she started picking at her nails and skin, a nervous habit. "I-I'm sorry if I made it sound like I don't trust you. I do." Not fully, but they had only just met. "You've given me your food and water. And you were ready to protect me against the others even though we had only just met. You haven't asked anything from me in return."
She bit her bottom lip, looking down at her feet. Her face scrunched in a wince as she drew blood. "I don't do well in groups. Not anymore. And the others haven't offered me anything or proven they can be trusted." She really wasn't comfortable explaining her scar. "I was with, uh, friends right as this happened. We lost a couple in our group and one of my friends went crazy. He's, well, he contributed to the situation that got me this." She pointed to her cheek, cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
