Lucky gave Ariella a long look, before shaking his head slightly and responding to Alastor. "You're right, we've got plenty. We'll be fine for a while, as long as nobody pigs out or anything." He stood and moved over onto the floor by Alastor, lowering his voice.
"Remind me, which way were you guys headed?" He swallowed a sudden lump in his throat. "My travel plans have been permanently canceled, so I figured I'd just go with you."
Alastor hesitated. He really wanted to go to the city to try to find his parents, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to see what he'd find there.
"Probably to a more rural area, or wherever there's plenty of food, water, stuff like that," he finally replied, ignoring the ache of grief he felt as he said it. One of these days he was going to break down from the fear and despair he was holding back, but today was not it.
Zeus walked over to Alastor and laid his furry head on his companion's lap.
Liam walked around as he finished his breakfast. He was looking for June, the only person who was even close to his age. He wandered around, and not finding her, went to the room she said that she would be sleeping in. He stood outside the closed door, not wanting to wake her up is she was sleeping, he knocked anyway.
Lucky nodded as Alastor confirmed what he thought he'd overheard yesterday. That was a smart plan.
Something crossed Alastor's face as he said it. On any normal day, Lucky probably wouldn't have picked up on what it was. But today, with the loss of his family fresh on his mind and heart, the grief residing in Lucky's chest recognized the grief crossing Alastor's face.
Lucky's voice was even quieter as he asked "It's none of my business⦠but who are you leaving behind?"
Lucky nodded as Alastor confirmed what he thought he'd overheard yesterday. That was a smart plan.

"It is none of your business," Alastor agreed, schooling his features into neutrality. "And they're already dead, so it doesn't matter now, does it?" He got up, Zeus stepping aside and wagging his tail slightly in curiosity.
"I'm sorry," he sighed, knowing he sounded rude. "I'm just going to go on a walk, try to clear my head a bit." The massive dog next to him perked up at the word 'walk', already heading to the door.

(Ronni and Lucas are out in the hall, eating together. Liam is looking for June, who last we knew was in the living room, off to the side, with pop tarts. Devon is sitting on one side of the couch, Ariella is sitting on the other side. Lucky is sitting next to Alastor, who was on the floor in the living room, but has just stood up to go clear his head. Sinjoro is out in the hall, Zeus is with Alastor. I believe that's everyone)
Ronni ducked into the kitchen real quick and grabbed them a couple of those gas station sandwiches in the sealed plastic packages. They weren't fantastic, but they were food.
She went out and sat next to him in the hallway, handing him a sandwich.
"thanks." He said to her, patting the empty space next to him. "Sit down, stay a while." He said, remembering what his dad said to him anytime he caught Lucas lounging around the house with his shoes on.
"I won't hurt you." He told her honestly "I promise."

Liam gave up standing outside of the door, and went to wander again. As he came back into the living room, he saw June eating poptarts. that would explain why she didn't answer the door he thought to himself as he walked over and sat down next to her. "May I join you?" he asked.

Unlike his roleplayer, Alastor enjoyed being outside and exercising. It forced him to become focused on his breathing and the road ahead of him instead of lingering on memories and thoughts of the past. Everytime he has to deal with a particularly brutal homicide case, he always went on a run to keep him from snapping and being mentally unable to do his job. He just had to keep moving forward.

He registered her offer, and her smile, and reached over to touch her arm gently, acknowledging her kindness.
Lucas smiled and took his sandwich out of the bag. "I suppose, I'll have to get used to it." He said and bit into the sandwich, his other hand hovering over his mouth.

"Yes, butβ¦" he said, turning his gaze away from her and to the floor. "I'm lonely."
He sighed and hugged his legs to his chest.
"I think I would have to, even if it makes me uncomfortable because I guess I kind of crave human interaction." He admitted.

Ronni blinked. She hadn't expected that response.
She thought for a moment, before gesturing to him, and holding up a single finger, before gesturing away from them.
Sooo⦠maybe just you and one other person go live off on your own.
It sounded good to her, although she'd have to find somebody she trusted that much first.

Ariella stared down his hand. She smiled at him softly. "Thank you. But that doesn't mean I'll trust any of the others any time soon."
She kissed his cheek quickly before retreating back to her cocoon.

After a little while, Eva finds herself sitting in her wooden rocking chair with a blanket wrapped around herself with her untouched tea in her lap and an empty plate with just a few crumbs and a metal fork laid in front of her on the small coffee table.
Her eyes are unfocused and her knees are pulled close to her chest, the steam that once came from the tea had ceased to linger in the air.
Drawing in a deep, calm breath, her eyelids show only slits of her eyes as she looks down into the tea, her disfigured reflection looking back at her, the small remains of the flowers used to make the herbal drink settled at the bottom of it.
Small steps of bare feet along the wooden floor can be heard before Cassie enters the room with a blanket.
Eva turns her head towards him, her hair falling out of her face as she does. βHi babyβ she coos softly to her son.
He doesnβt say anything, but stops in front of her and puts his hands around the tea, grabbing it from her. She loosens her grip to let him take it, only to watch him put it aside on the table and climb into her lap.
He smothers himself in her embrace as she wraps her arms around his small body, kissing the top of his head. Not minding his curly blonde hair ticking her nose and lips as she does, she wraps the blanket around him so they both sit in a cocoon type ball together.
She settles her cheek on the top of his head and closing her eyes, a small smile flitting across her lips.
Eva can hear his breath evening out and realizes he had fallen back asleep.
This is what made it worth it to be a mother.
