Liam jumped, he had fallen asleep again. he waved to Ronni and Lucas, not sure why it was so quiet with three people sitting up there, but recognised the peacefulness of it.

June woke up, and opened the door to see who else was up, she sat in the doorway to the bedroom, waiting for her brother to wake up.

Devon woke up shortly after June, he sat up quickly looking around with a panicked expression, when he saw June, he relaxed, rubbing his face.

Lucas looked at her and smiled. Good morning He mouthed to her. How'd you sleep?

Ronni flashed Lucas a thumbs up. She'd slept ok.
Why does he mouth things at me? she wondered.

She noticed Liam flinch, and her eyes wideend as she realized he'd been asleep, which made her incredibly nervous since he was dangling over the edge. She really didn't want to watch him fall to his death.

Beams of soft golden light from the sunrise shines through the old panes of glass in the small house Eva and her children slept in.
Eva laid in her bed on her belly and her hair all over the place, having fallen out of its messy bun sometime in the night.
Her eyes open slowly, welcoming in the warm light from the sun. Though not as much of a fan of it shining into her eyes first thing in the morning. Sitting up, she arches her back and stretches her arms out in front of her, squeezing her eyes shut as she yawned and stretched like a cat.
Golden strands of hair falls into her face before she searches for the band that tied her hair together in between in covers. Though not being able to find it, she decides to get up and go outside. Maybe eat breakfast before the kids wake up. They probably weren't going to be awake for a while so that was nice.
Eva debated leaving them up here. If someone came up here they wouldn't be able to protect themselves. She wouldn't be there either.
What kind of a mother would that make her? One that leaves her kids by themselves to face danger alone? And what if she didn't come back? What would they do then?

Her thoughts were enough to keep her awake and going this morning. So she stands in the kitchen lighting the gas stove with a match and cracking an egg over an old metal pan. It was old but not dirty. No rust settled on it but only markings of its past.
She focuses on the markings for a second more before the hard sound of the egg white sizzling against the heated metal snaps her out of it.
Scraping the metal spatula underneath the egg, she carefully flips it only to be greeted by more sizzling and small bubbles of egg white sputtering up off the pan. Eva leads against the counter while she waits for the egg to finish cooking, humming softly to herself.
A soft hymn from long ago. It was sung to her when she was little, around Cassie's age but maybe a little older. She wasn't able to hit the higher notes as well as she had been able to, but instead her voice became softer and quieter the higher the notes went.
It was a nice morning. But Eva knew she wouldn't get to have this nice of a morning for a while, as by tonight she'd be down in the city…..

He decided to break the silence, out of concern for the teenager.
"Maybe you should move away from the edge, so you don't fall asleep and fall off." He said, his voice giving the words a sense of begging.

Alastor stood up and sighed, knowing his hair looked like a rat's nest.
Zeus got up as well, shaking his fur out before heading to the kitchen, smelling the food in there.

Lucky shuffled past Alastor, still dead to the world, and into the kitchen. He wasn't really aware of much, other than being thirsty, until he saw the dog.

He filled his cup, wondering where Ariella had gotten it, and then rooted around in the cabinets till he found a bowl. He filled it with water and set it on the ground, before turning and shuffling back to the living room. He plopped down on the couch and gave Alastor a half nod, still trying to wake up.

Ronni nodded quickly, agreeing with Lucas.
She was sitting crosslegged on the edge, since the sense of dangling terrified her. She didn't know how Liam could be so comfortable with it that he would fall asleep.

Liam looked down to the ground. "I've fallen from worse." He said but still scooted back a few inches, just to make them calm down. He had fallen from higher, it was a bet, and he was drunk. it ended up breaking his leg in two places, but it has since manded himself.

Lucky shuffled past Alastor, still dead to the world, and into the kitchen. He wasn't really aware of much, other than being thirsty, until he saw the dog.

He walked around the small apartment, trying to wake himself up. He got his backpack and rummaged through it until he found the beef jerky, which he gave to Zeus.

Devon slowly made his way into the living room, his glasses sitting on top of his head, he sat down at the side of the couch, leaning his head against the armrest, still half asleep. Being woken up by nightmares isn't exactly a great start of the day.

June moved to the kitchen, looking around to find breakfast.

She was at least glad he pulled back, so she wouldn't need to watch him get hurt.

He groaned very quietly and scooted away from her, reaching for his water cup and finding it empty. He stood, the room spinning, and walked out to get more.

Ariella was woken up as Lucky moved. She feigned sleep until he left the room. She didn't want to embarrass him for any of the events the night before. She slid out of bed and dressed. She pulled her shoes on before walking out and going to the bathroom. She did her hair and brushed her teeth. She collected her now-dry clothes and placed them in her bag. She walked into the living room, quiet, but watching.

"Over four years," Alastor replied, staring fondly at the canine. "We both trained at the police academy together."

After a while, Lucas stood up and stretched.
"Well guys," he said "i'm going to go inside."

He smiled at Alastor. "Wow, a police officer, huh? Impressive." He held up his cup of water. "I'm ok, thanks though. Had a bit of a rough night." Lucky glanced across the room at Ariella as he said it, hoping she knew he was sorry she'd had to sit through all that.

Ariella caught his gaze and only offered a small smile before backing into the hallway. It felt very crowded with the amount of people there and it made her claustrophobic. She could handle it in a hospital setting, as her focus was elsewhere, but this was different. Different life. Different situation. And she didn't trust people anymore like she used too.

Sinjoro, despite Lucky telling everyone he was a grumpy boi, was actually a very sweet horse. He saw Devon coming and recognized him from their brief time together the day before. When the boy offered him the apple, he snorted softly, before putting his nose into Devon's hand and pulling the apple into his mouth with his lips. He chewed loudly, crunching through the fruit appreciatively.

Devon smiled softly at the animal, "You seem like a nice horse…or maybe it's just that animals are drawn to me….I think it is because I am quiet..and a pacifist…" he hummed, petting the horse's nose. "Sorry I glared at you a lot yesterday…it's just unfair that something as beautiful as you should be in a world like this"

He smiled at Alastor. "Wow, a police officer, huh? Impressive." He held up his cup of water. "I'm ok, thanks though. Had a bit of a rough night." Lucky glanced across the room at Ariella as he said it, hoping she knew he was sorry she'd had to sit through all that.

"Okay," Alastor nodded. He followed Lucky's gaze and when he saw Ariella he offered her a friendly smile.
"Ariella, right? I don't think we've had a chance to actually talk to each other. It's nice to meet you," he said to her, snapping his fingers when he spotted Zeus trying to take the empty couch spot next to Lucky. The German Shepherd huffed but backed away from it, lying himself down on the floor instead.
