To anyone who has rp'd with me in the past, I apologize for dropping off the face of the earth. I've been off the site for almost ten months for no particular reason; I just go through odd phases sometimes.
I'd love to jump back into rp if anybody has room on their dance card! I usually do fantasy/romance and am open to mature-rated rp. I am in college rn, so I won't be able to respond hella quickly, but I will respond!
Skylark!! Welcome back! 🥰
We had one going if you wanted to continue that? And/Or we could start a new one? I'd be glad to roleplay with you again ^^
Hiya Fraust! Thanks!
I honestly don't remember our previous one very well. Could we start a new one?
Sure! (In the old one my character was Joey I believe, and idr yours name, but I think he was fae?)
Yeah! My character's name was Sol. What are you thinking for a new rp?
Whatever you like! I still like semi fantasy roleplays and I've got some new characters if you want to see them :)
Sweet! Maybe throw some of your characters at me, and I can tell you some of mine, and we'll see what works. Also, I've been trying to work on making my characters more consistent, I tend to mold them to a situation, and they don't stick to the characterization I initially give them. All that to say, call me out if I do that.
Alrighty! Here's a few of mine (these are the main ones I have rn but I can make new ones too)
Lumine (Lumi) Lemongrass (he/they, neko)
Finn and Teagan Hemming (both he/him, twins, werewolves)
Faerynn (Rynn) Verdine (they/them, unicorn satyr)
Nathaniel Windsor (he/him, angel)
Nich Brooks (he/him, fox neko? Kitsune? Idk)
Aiki (right) and Eiji (left) Akaume (he/they (Aiki) and he/him (Eiji), fraternal twins, also foxboys or something idk)
Kaida Reiki (she/her, idk what she is tbh)
I should probably make more female characters
Ahh! I love all of them. Lumi is super cute. Do you have any preferences?
– Damien Faust - half-incubus, rather pale, black hair, grey eyes that turn purple when feeding
– Solaire "Sol" Forestson - winged fae, sun-tanned, green eyes, sun-lightened brown hair, various scars
– Amanita Helbourne - witch, has vitiligo, sectoral heterochromia with blue and brown eyes, black hair styled in cornrows
– Krystal "Krys" Forestdottir - winged fae (Sol's older sister), pale from a period of imprisonment but naturally tan, dark brown hair, green eyes, various scars
I do remember liking Sol aha, Damien could be interesting too!
Cool! Do you have one of your characters that you would like to use? For context, Damien is pretty shy, while Sol, if you remember, definitely is not.
I think that Nathaniel would work well with Sol since he's pretty shy, and Lumi or Nich would work well with Damien aha
How are we supposed to decide ahahaha
Ok, what plot are we thinking of? Maybe we can pick characters based on that
Idk lol
Depends on who you want to use I guess? And the ages
Nathaniel is a lot more friendly and trusting even though he's shy. He's been raised to respect others and treat them well
Lumi was barely raised at all so they don't trust anyone at first, and he can be kinda standoffish and a troublemaker, but he's more affectionate and possessive once they like someone
Nich (although this isn't exclusive to him obviously) had a pretty traumatic childhood but he's still a fun guy! He could honestly work well with Sol as well, power couple ig. I probably prefer the other two but I like him as well
If you have any plot ideas I'm open to them, I usually do modern semi-fantasy so anything in that genre should work well?
I like Lumi, could we do them and Damien?
How about a coffee shop au style plot?
Yeah that's fine! Should Lumi be working there? He takes on various jobs bc they're poor sdfhjkl
That's a mood.
Sounds good! Damien could be a college student that comes in.
Do you want to start or should I?
You can if you want! I have to shower so I'll be offline for a little bit
Okie dokie! I should probably shower, too, lol…
greetings! sorry i didn't start, i was doing hw
Finishing his classes for the day always gave Damian a sense of freedom, however fleeting. It meant he could stop by one of his favorite spots on campus, the coffee shop, and just sit and breathe, maybe get some work done, but definitely have coffee. Once in a while, he used his time there to feed, but usually only around midterms and finals, when he could drain the negative emotions of the other cafe patrons without feeling bad for not asking. Sure, he didn't feel particularly good afterward, but that was how it went. Damian was not close to anyone and certainly did not feel comfortable asking a stranger to feed off of their positive emotions. So the dregs of feelings were all that he took.
This day was almost like any other. He finally got out of developmental psych and made his way across campus to the coffee shop. The only thing that made today different was that it was a Thursday, which meant that the cute neko was working at the cafe. Damian could never work up the courage to say more than a few words to the other person, but he told himself that was fine. Not many people liked incubi, even half-bloods, so it's not as though any weak attempts at flirting would be successful anyway.
Opening the door to the shop, he made his way to the counter to order.
Lumi didn't exactly have a university to go to. He hadn't attended high school, either; they were more preoccupied with just surviving at that point. He'd been tossed between foster homes all throughout his childhood until they simply ran away to take things into their own hands, and so he'd only gotten a cheap apartment in the last couple of years. The time before that was spent on the street.
Besides their less-than-preferable 'upbringing', they were moderately successful at holding low-level jobs that didn't require prior experience or education. He'd worked a variety of jobs, and still did whatever he could get money for, but the coffee shop paid him a little better, so they spent more time there. Although his social skills did leave a little something to be desired at times, they could still be charming if they tried, and he often got very generous tips just because he was cute. They never tried especially hard to be, but, well… people like cats.
He looked up when he heard the bell on the door their ears twitching. He recognized Damian and started tapping at the screen in front of him. "Hello, Damian. I assume you're having the usual?" They asked, a bit dryly, but in a slightly sarcastic way that was (whether by intent or not) endearing. He wasn't typically one to remember customers' names, but Damian was a regular, and Lumi had grown a bit fond of him anyway.
Damian couldn't help the small smile at Lumi's dry question. "Yes, please," he answered quietly, pulling out his wallet. "Thanks, Lumi." In all honesty, he couldn't remember if the barista ever introduced themself or if he just read the other's name tag, but he always addressed the neko by name; it seemed more courteous. Plus, he had worked at a bar until… well, he had worked at a bar and knew it was nice to be acknowledged by customers past the exchange of goods and money.
"How–how has your day been?" Damien asked in a shy attempt to converse. Was it sad to say he was proud of himself?
Lumi glanced up at the question, his green and yellow eyes catching the light for a brief moment. "Mm? Oh, you know… the usual, I guess. Getting yelled at by middle-aged women who probably still think I'm a child, which I think makes it worse personally." They scribbled down Damien's name and order onto a cup and tossed it to a coworker to make the drink. "I guess they don't care how much it hurts my ears." He pointed to one of his cat ears. They were more sensitive to loud noises because of their enhanced hearing, and that was a pretty well known fact about nekoes. And since he was only five feet tall, he knew that most customers probably assumed that they were a kid.
They sighed softly and ran his fingers through his hair. There wasn't anyone else in line right now, so they weren't necessarily wasting time by chatting. "I guess you go to the college around here?" They asked, attempting to small talk.
Damian nodded along in sympathy. People like that drove him crazy, not that he was bold enough to stick up to them. But really, it's not that hard to be polite. "Yeah, I'm studying supernatural biology and psychology," he said, pleasantly surprised that he was actually having a conversation with the cute barista. Or trying to, at least. "I want to be able to help supernaturals get the treatment that works for them instead of just throwing human medicine at them." Damian knew from experience how ineffective it was to assume a one-size-fits-all mentality for treating a variety of beings. "
"I'm definitely not smart enough for all that, but it sounds helpful." Lumi shrugged. "I haven't exactly gone to the doctor all that often anyway. Too expensive." He yawned and stretched, glancing over to see how his coworker was getting along with Damian's drink. "The few times I've gone they didn't really know what to do with me. I haven't gone in years, though. I just deal with my own issues." They thought for a moment, considering how to continue a conversation when they didn't have much experience. "I don't know what I'd do if I went to college. I don't really have a lot of interests or skills."
"You deserve better than that," Damian said with a frown. This is why he wanted to be a supernatural specialist doctor. No one should go without treatment because their doctor refuses to understand their needs. "And I didn't know what I was going to do at school until second-year biology. I'm sure there's something you would be interested in." This was an entire conversation now. Wow. Despite the somewhat serious topic, Damian was happy to be talking to Lumi.
