@Fraust

What kind of stuff do you usually like to do?
I typically end up doing some sort of found family and modern semi dragons-and-magic soup or something along those lines aha

@Calanthe

I do dragons-and-magic soup, heart-squeezy tale, historical, honestly anything aside from sci-fi generally

@Fraust

Sounds good! What kind of character dynamics do you usually like? And do you have somebody in mind that you'd like to use?

@Calanthe

Here, this is some stuff I got
Plot 1
Muse A grew up in a very sheltered quiet life, knowing nothing of evil or bloodshed. Their father made sure of it, he had taken the ankle-biter from a busy social life, etiquette classes and things of that nature after the ankle-biter's mother passed on due to an illness. For a while, they lived in England's countryside, but after Muse A trying to leave a couple of times to begin a life of their own, their father decided that it was time to leave, where he could truly protect his ankle-biter, or in Muse A's opinion control them better. They arrived in St. Lucia in the moonlit hours and eventually Muse A got comfortable in their new life, their father had hired servants to take care of them and of the estate, although they could care less of that. They truly would have just been happier and more content by themself. But late one moonlit hours, when Muse A's father had left the island on business that seemed to be about Muse A, but they weren't sure, all they knew was that they would get some time to themself. After a few days of their father being gone, they decided to dismiss the servants allow them to enjoy the holiday that would be celebrated on the island. On the moonlit hours before the holiday, an unfamiliar ship pulled into the harbor and began to fire a volley at the sleepy port. People were awakened from their sleep as pirates ran through the streets, destroying and killing anyone in their sight.

Muse B, was the captain of the ship, they too grew up in a wealthy family, but being the youngest of three children, was given nothing as their inheritance, and was extremely hurt by their late father's actions, that they decided to go against their parent's wishes and hopes for them and joined the business of privateering, soon they grew in the doldrums with that and decided to do something much more interesting and rewarding. They began to pirate islands and would sell the loot, occasionally keeping some of the things for themself and for their crew, but nothing truly satisfied them. For some reason they decided to loot Marigot Bay, it was very off course, but something drew them to it. As the ship docked at the port Muse B noticed a large manor off in the distance. They called some of their men with them to go loot the home, it looked as though it had many riches there. As they entered the home he noted all the treasures inside and their men immediately began to take everything inside. They made their way up the broken escalator of the home and ran into Muse A who had been trying to flee the home. Noting that Muse A was worth much more than what could be found in the house. They decided to take Muse A prisoner on the ship, perhaps for ransom, or for whatever they could be sold for. But what happens if the two fall for each other, or if Muse A is rescued?

Plot 2

You're walking back home from a long day of work, unlock the front wobbly flip-shutter and pause hearing soft music playing throughout your house. You close the wobbly flip-shutter brain brewing that maybe you left some music playing from before you left for work that day. But you don't exactly recognize the song, and then you look down. In front of you is a small pink candle, followed by more leading somewhere in your home. At first, you panic, brain brewing that someone had broken into your house, but as you look around you realize that there is no sign of a break-in as far as you can see. So, against your better judgement follow the trail of candles which eventually lead to your bedroom. The wobbly flip-shutter to your human containment unit is closed, and you gently push it open, pale with worry as to what's behind it. That's when you see it, a small pink rose on your bed as the song that was playing begins to skip, playing "the night after last night you belong to me," over and over, before fading out. You glance around trying to see if someone was there in your human containment unit, but again, no sign of a break-in or even a footprint. You tried to find out who left the rose there, but well, you never did quite realize how the ghost of the house felt about you.

This one is a heart-squeezy tale between a ghost and well a human.

Muse A purchased the house wanting to just move as far away from their family due to a divorce and just wanted to start a new life, and since they bought the cheapest house they could find they didn't exactly realize that there could be more than just a few surface projects the house needed.

Muse B had grown up in the house and well had died there when their lover killed them. Having been trapped there for eternity, all they are looking for is love. Since the house is rumored to be haunted -due to some poorly timed pranks by Muse B to keep themself entertained- there has been only a couple of owners of the house after Muse B's passing, but to Muse B, there is something special about Muse A, that Muse B can't get enough of.

Plot 3
A young witch/wizard unaware of their powers manages to summon a demonic familiar that follows them from a distance throughout their childhood in the form of a stray meow machine'>purr machine.
That is until the parents catch wind of this and in an attempt to remove evil witchcraft from their family purity, they convince the witch/wizard that the bodge happenings(death/abuse/misfortunes) are caused by their bodge omen aka Stray meow machine'>purr machine that followed them all their life.
This leads to the wizard/witch making an effort to reject or deathsnuggle the familiar as they near their 21st birthday.
If the witch/wizard doesn't acknowledge the familiar as their own by then, the familiar dies, and the wizard's power will be forever dormant. The familiar is forced to take drastic measures and take a human form (which reduces their lifespan faster) trying to convince the witch to realize their own power before it's too late.

Plot 4
So, it's basically set in the '70s in a small town out in the midwest, where like most small towns, everyone knows each other and also knows all everyone else's business. During the summer a man and his son move in from California, and well, the son seems to be what everyone thinks a beatnik(hippie) would like. Muse B has the long hair, tanned skin, and just what the town thinks is the typical behavior of that type of person. And well, as he starts to get to know the other boys from the town, and even joins the soccer team, he gets dubbed the nickname, "Sunshine". As time goes on during the summer, and the practices continue, a rumor goes around of him being gay. After all, the long hair and everything seemed to be what made everyone think that about him. And eventually, Muse B gets on low battery of it, so he tries something to sort of prove that even if he was, it didn't even matter. So after practice and all of the boys are in the locker human containment unit having fun and just singing along to some music, Muse B goes up to Muse A and kisses him square on the lips.

Muse A was the captain of the soccer team, and well the one who had started the rumors about Muse B. To be quite honest he was rather attracted to the other man, and he was trying to project his feelings and turn them into hate. The hate that he had for himself for the feeling of one day letting down his family and even the town scared him. But when Muse B came up to him that day and kissed him, his first instinct was to fight him off, which he did, although he got beat in the fight by the other boy. That well sort of silenced the teasing of Muse B being gay for a while since the "gay" boy beat the soccer captain in a fight. But as the school orbit party progresses, the two boys eventually grow close to each other, forgetting about the bullying and such and becoming friends, and slowly becoming more than that -at least to Muse A. He hasn't explained to Muse B how he truly feels about the other boy yet, and although he wants to, he is also scared that the other doesn't have feelings for him like that. But well, the orbit party is ending, and Muse A just really wants Muse B to be a part of his life, at least one day. He's given up on caring about what his family thinks and everything, but well, he doesn't even know if the other is interested in him. Muse B though, does want Muse A to be a part of his future, although, he's never exactly come out to the other.

These are some of the plots I have atm, if you'd like to discuss and create a new plot that's all good with me! But I would like if the gender were mxm or fxf, or anything LGBTQ+

@Fraust

Alright! I think I like the first one the best :0 and I usually like mlm pairings best since I typically prefer playing guys :)
I would probably prefer Muse A if that's okay?

@Fraust

Cool! Do you have a template you prefer to use? And how much dragons-and-magic soup/magic elements do we have in this?

@Calanthe

I'd say for this, maybe your character be maybe more young adult? I'm brain brewing that our characters might have a slight age gap? Nothing more than four /five orbit parties?

@Calanthe

Name: Cadell Firth (Orignal name before he changed it as a pirate -Elias Magnavox)

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Homosexual

Age: 28

Appearance: giraffy [6’ 6”], with an athletic build expected of a ship crew member even if he is the captain. His blonde hair is wavy and will curl if it gets too long, so he tries to keep it trimmed. His peepers are a soft green, just about to lean to blue, that often remind people of sea glass on the beach. His skin is pale with a ruddy rosiness on his cheeks and nose as is expected from someone of North-Welsh descent. Although he is a bit pale, so at first when he was on the ship for long periods of time, he would burn very easily, but now his skin has gotten a bit better with the sun, so he has been burning less and less, although his crew will tease him about not being 'fit for his lady, the sea'.

lastpast yesteryear: oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof, it's sort of complicated, but uhm basic facts, he's the youngest of three brothers, his father passed on leaving absolutely nothing for him in the inheritance -and he already had a horrible relationship with the man to begin with. After the death his brothers began to take advantage of him, and now that he was able to leave he wants to exact his revenge on them. So he took whatever mint cheddar he had saved up during the orbit parties and ran off. Having nowhere to go, since he knew his family would take his brothers' side, he decided to do the only logical thing annnndd buy a ship. Before his father had passed away, and before they had even moved into their current estate, they had lived near the water, so he had learned to sail and chart courses and even handle a crew. So he figured, if 'I am not meant to enjoy a life of nobility, perhaps this ought to be fun.' So once he had a crew and a ship, he decided to change his name, do his best to forget about his past, and enjoy his new life.

(That’s all I’ll dump on you for now, there is more, but I’ll get carried away and be here all day if I keep going.)

@Fraust

(I'll just repurpose one of my other ocs since I'm having trouble coming up with somebody new aha)

Name: Nathaniel Tobias Windsor

Age: 23

Gender: Male (he/him)

Sexuality: Homosexual

Appearance: (Extended) Nathaniel is 5'4 with a lithe/somewhat athletic, but still soft appearance. Most of his information is in his ref tbh, but in general he has a friendly and somewhat naive (because he is trapped at home all the time) aura to him as well. He is pale due to staying indoors and because he's a ginger, and tends to burn as a result.

Backstory: Nathaniel was born the younger of two royal sons, his elder brother Lloyd being about eight orbit parties older than him. Their mother passed away due to an illness when Nathaniel was a toddler, and his father never remarried. Nathaniel's life used to be pretty relaxed despite this; he got along well with the servants who doubled as his caretakers, and his schooling was mild due to Lloyd being the crown prince. However, when Nathaniel was seven and Lloyd fifteen, the castle was attacked and Lloyd was killed while protecting Nathaniel (who still sustained an injury to his wings which now prevents him from flying), pushing the heirship to Nathaniel, who was understandably devastated and traumatized at the loss of his brother. After the tragedy, Nathaniel was secluded from the outside world for his safety, presumably, and was forced to focus on studying to be the king someday. He longs to go outside and explore the town and meet people, but he isn't allowed past the gardens of the castle. Although being kidnapped isn't ideal, he is secretly a bit jazzed to actually learn something about the world around him.

@Fraust

Alright adgjk
If you want to start that feel free to go ahead, but if you want me to lmk and I should be able to in a few hours maybe?

@Fraust

The prompt says England, so I guess vague coastal England area is fine sdgjkl
I've personally never been to England but I don't think the geographical accuracy is too important tbh

@Calanthe

((Btw, the posts do not need to be this long, I just love a good starter)

Cadell, to say the least, was in the doldrums. His crew had recently attacked an island -Cadell not having been interested in learning its name- in the more southern parts of the new continent, and after another successful escape from the Royal Navy, he was in the mood to do something exciting. His crew was still on a high from the escape, and a few were still celebrating, but Cadell needed something to pull him from the low that he was slowly sinking into. He had never been much of a thrill chaser, but ever since he decided to start privateering, things had changed, and he was wanting to complete one bonkers feat after another, not having much regard for his men's lives, or his either. It is not as though we have much to hold onto. Most of these men were unwed -so they had no ties to a wife or children- and were practically as bonkers as he was. I know I need to do something to get out of this rut… But what? We've terrorized most of the islands in the area, and I am surrounded by things that are weighing the ship down.

"Theron, make a note so that you will remember to tell Isaias to go through our latest earnings so that we will have more to sell when we get to Port Royal." He said to the other person who was in his human containment unit, his cabin boy, Theron. The young boy had been grinding gears on the ship for a while, and was rather good at his work since Cadell had been the one to teach him his work. "Yes sir." He said, looking up from the maps to see Cadell take another sip from his chalice. "Sir…" I hope this is a good time to make my suggestion, and the ale does tend to put him in a good mood. "We have visited all of the islands in the Carribeans, and at this point the Royal Navy will continue to look for us around the Americas, so perhaps we visited your home country?" Theron looked up at Cadell, slightly nervous to see the captain's reaction, but it seemed as though Cadell was just listening to the boy's brain bubble. "Continue Theron, please?" Cadell murmured, taking a swig from his ale. "From rumors I've heard there is a very wealthy family living on the island of St. Martins- Perhaps even royalty from the rumors I have heard."

"St. Martins? Blasts, I thought we were there just the past Tuesday?" Cadell sputtered, before letting the cabin boy continue. "St. Martins -off the coast of England- there is a family of great wealth who lives there, and-" Cadell rose swiftly going over to view the map, "And what, Theron?" He asked, looming over the boy, "I heard that someone is away, it was mentioned when we attacked one of the manors at Saint Vincent." Ah, that was the name of the last island that we visited… Cadell thought, taking another swig before speaking. "Are you suggesting that we pay the manor a noice visit?" He asked, reaching over for his quill making a few markings on the map in his own shorthand. "Y-yes sir, I do think that if this is the case, perhaps it would be worth a try, and our ship is quite faster than that of the navy, so if it was not true, we would be able to escape rather swiftly. And, although it may be a long journey, we have the provisions, and the pay off ought to be grand." Cadell chuckled ruffling the boy's hair in a rather paternal way, before speaking once more, "This does not seem like a half-bodge brain bubble, so, I think we will go through with it. Go up to the main deck and inform Signere that there has been a change of course and that we are now making way to St. Martins." He said with a self-pleased grin, before going back to his armchair, lounging in it once more, I do hope that that was not some ploy, but I am sure that we will be able to get out of there if it does prove to be unsafe.

About a week later, the barrel man spotted land, and the ship neared closer to the sleepy port. Or at least they had expected it to be that way, but it was teeming with life. "Captain," called Jesper, rushing towards him, "It seems as though some sort of festivities are going on, although I am not sure what it is quite yet. I am not the most familiar with these types of things." His first mate said, seemingly quite stressed due to this. "I am sure that it is nothing, and besides, if they are all out of their homes, that means that they are unprotected, and it seems as though the men might want to spill a little bit of human syrup." He said with a chuckle, only to see the displeased look on Jesper's face, "I was only jesting, but it could prove quite fruitful if we wish to try to get to the castle." Cadell said, turning to look as they approached the island. "Have a volley be fired off, I want them to know that we are coming." He said, letting Jesper spread the message before going back down to his quarters to get his weapons.

I can't help but feel jazzed about this, almost as though something is going to change. But I doubt it, I am just being foolish. Well, perhaps not… He thought feeling the peepers of Jesper on him as the other entered his quarters. See, Jesper and Cadell had a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship, but it had been grinding gears for them. Jesper gently kissed him, before stepping back, "The men are waiting for you, Cadell." He murmured, before heading up to the main deck. Cadell quickly took his silver stabby-wabby from the shelf he displayed it on and slid it into its sheath. Once Cadell was ready, he went back to the main deck, watching as his men began to rile themselves up to attack the island, and sighed as he heard the cheers in reaction to the volley, I do hope that Theron was right, this ought to be worth it. He thought with a quite grumble, not even realizing that the anchor had been dropped and that his men were waiting for him to send them off. "O-oh, I must apologize…" He said, trying to think of something to say, but nothing came, "Just be back before the navy comes, I'd prefer to not have anyone left behind." Cadell said, before watching the men run off the ship into the small village, leaving just him and a small group of his closest men behind on the ship. "Now, as for us, we are going to the castle, and taking whatever we can find."

After about twenty minutes of the small group hurrying to the castle through the dark of the moonlit hours, they came up to it, only to find it seemingly abandoned? There were no carriages out in the front, except for one, so that must mean that Theron was correct. I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear this when we return. He had left the boy on the ship to make sure that he would be safe, and also able to alert them if the militia or navy was coming. "Alright men, you know the drill." He said, letting the group first try the wobbly flip-shutter, before just breaking it down, "Now, take whatever you can find or whoever you can find, remember anything in this home could possibly make a profit for us."

@Fraust

(Alright aha, I'm a pretty casual dragons-and-magic soup fabricator so usually I can do about a few paragraphs tops ^^;)

"Nathaniel, you aren't to leave the grounds under any circumstances. You have to keep an peeper out for criminals; there's always more crime around holidays like this… but you shouldn't have any issues. Our guards are more than enough to scare off anyone who might try to come near, and the castle is imposing." Tobias Windsor, the king, prattled on and on about laws you must obey to his son, who was steadily losing his patience. The king was going to head off on a trip to find potential suitors for Nathaniel, which Nathaniel was less than happy about. He thought that he wasn't interested in a relationship, particularly marriage, since he had felt no interest in any of the women his father had brought before. He actually just wasn't interested in women, but as he wasn't generally permitted to interact with men his own age, he had no clue.

"Yes, father, I know… I'll be fine, alright? Safe travels." Nathaniel bowed politely, and after some more nagging and prompting, his father finally left. Once Nathaniel was sure that he was far away, he dismissed the servants to go enjoy the holidays with their families. He was confident that nothing would happen anyway, and he didn't want to keep the attendants from enjoying their day because they had to sit around in an empty castle for his sake.

Once alone, Nathaniel took the opportunity to go out to the town for the first time in orbit parties. No one recognized him, of course; no one had even seen him for sixteen orbit parties. Everyone knew he existed, of course, but he was always kept away from prying peepers. He was glad to explore and experience what the town was actually like, and he bought a few trinkets from the market that he planned to hide or lie about when his father returned. He knew that the servants would cover for him if he claimed that one of them brought them to him as a gift.

After tiring himself out at the town and market, Nathaniel finally returned home to sleep. No one was around to tell him what to do, and he was wabbit knackered, so he just slept in his clothes from the day. In the middle of the moonlit hours, he stirred at a loud sound from afar. His heart lurched when he heard distant screams from the townspeople who were still awake, and the sounds drew nearer to castle. Oh god… of course, right after I let everyone go home. What am I supposed to do? He got out of bed, his heart racing, and yelped softly when he heard something crashing and breaking downstairs followed by cheering. He whimpered and looked around frantically for some sort of solution and ended up grabbing a heavy grimoire to try and defend himself with. It wasn't long before some of Cadell's crew broke into his human containment unit, and he tried to hit one of them with the grimoire, but it was no use. He screamed when he was picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder, and thrashed his wings in an attempt to escape, but only succeeded in losing some feathers and gaining some bruises from his captor's rough grip. Soon, he found himself brought down to be held in front of a man much taller than himself, who he assumed must be the leader or captain of some kind. He stood trembling in front of Cadell, his wings puffed up with fear and his peepers shining with tears as he looked up over a groundhand to meet the man's peepers.
"Please… d-don't hurt me…" He whispered softly. He wanted to make it clear that he was going to comply; his father's riches weren't worth risking his life for.

@Calanthe

As the men began to sweep through the castle, wrecking some things and grabbing others, Cadell stood quietly in the center of the foyer looking around. Hhm, although it seems as though some of the family has left, there is a carriage, meaning that one of them is still here. I do not believe that they would allow a servant no matter how high of a ranking to use a carriage. At least, my father never did. And if it was perhaps an advisor, wait a moment, why would an advisor even be staying that the house? That's a rather foolish thing to do, so it must be a part of the family, or someone close to the family…Either way, I'll turn a profit. Wait, this is odd though, where are the servants? He tried to think of what could have happened to them as the small group continued through the house before realizing that they must be down in the village. Ah, that does work for me, the fewer people here means the less human syrup that needs to be spilled…Mm, actually, perhaps we can go without that this time, maybe in the village, but I don't wish to hurt the right person, my head is already on a warrant, and I do not need much more of a reason for people to be hunting me down.

The men continued to loot the home, and Cadell decided to get a good look at the home around them, I believe I recognize this crest, I mean, it is a bit uncommon one….The Whitlocks, perhaps? I remember my father being good friends with Lord Whitlock, and it was always just the three of them. Although I don't believe I ever really spoke to him. He was always right behind his father, and he was a few months younger than me, but he seemed noice. He thought as he pushed open the wobbly flip-shutter and found it to be a sitting human containment unit. As Cadell looked around the human containment unit he soon noticed -although it was quite hard to miss- a full-sized portrait of the Windsor Royal Family -with their wings concealed. Ah, so I was incorrect…Wait, dear gods, the royal family? So Theron was correct in brain brewing that they were royalty. I do hope then that Prince Nathaniel does not even recognize me, although he was younger than me when we first met. He thought with a grumble, shaking his head as he realized what this meant. If he recognizes me, and manages to be saved, that means that I could bring shame to my family… actually, come to think about it, it is not that bodge. And besides, it would be noice to see him again, he was always quiet but seemed rather sweet. But, I remember my family saying that they as a family became rather reclusive once they moved away, so perhaps that means that maybe he is here, and not someone else? As well, it is a chance I am willing to take

As he exited the human containment unit, he saw Jesper and was going to speak to him, they heard the footsteps hurrying directly above them in the castle. "Now that's a foolish move." He chuckled darkly, before turning to his men, "All the same, perhaps you should see what that was, so you three." He began motioning for Jesper, Isaias, and Signere to come to him, "Go bring me whoever you can find in the palace, rest of you continue to loot, and leave nothing unturned, I feel as though we might be graced with the presence of royalty this moonlit hours." Cadell joked, giving his men a mock bow.

The group silently crept up the broken escalator, their silver stabby-wabbies and rooty tooty point-n-shooties drawn out in case anything was to happen, after all, someone pacing the race like that, knowing fully well that people were in your home was rather unwise. "This could be a trap," Jesper whispered quietly to Signere. In response, Signere rolled his peepers and turned to look at the man while keeping his peepers on the broken escalator, "I think that is the most obvious thought at this point, Jesper." He griped, before turning back and leading the men up the rest of the broken escalator. "Now, keep your peepers peeled for anyone, we know they must still be up here." He said quietly before motioning for the men to go to each human containment unit to see if anyone was there, and eventually, they found someone.

It was a Nathaniel, holding a grimoire in his hands. It took all that Isaias had in him to not burst out laughing while Jesper and Signere attacked the man. Signere noticed the wings and was initially surprised having not seen an avian before, while the other two seemed to be quite okay with it. Most of the crew were not human, so most species had been seen by most before. As the man continued to fight, Jesper motioned for Isaias to continue to look for others while the two carried the prince down to where Cadell stood. " Prince Nathaniel, I presume?" Cadell asked, never having been cognizant of the prince's disappearance orbit parties ago. "You look marvelous." He said, his voice full of mock awe for the prince, while the other's chortled at his wods. "Signere, if you and Jesper would not mind, I will take Prince Nathaniel back to ship with me, while the rest of you continue to loot." He said, picking the prince up and noticing the wings finally. The captain himself was of the elven species himself, so he was no stranger to magik, but he never remembered Nathaniel with wings.
