"Is there a range out here?" Aesir asked, "To practice archery or crossbow?"
They smiled.
"Ranged fighting is more my thing, though I can hold my own in closer range should it come down to it. Actually… would you want to go practice together sometime?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"There is, yes." Josef confirmed, looking over at them. "And I can go with you, if you like. Arlo is more combat, and Darcy prefers hand to hand. Maze doesn't fight." he shrugged a shoulder.

@Becfromthedead group

"Excellent. I'm not much of a fighter by nature, but I like to be able to defend myself. Not to mention good archery can be one hell of a party trick."
Aesir tapped their hand on the table.
"I could stand to get better at hand-to-hand and swordfighting. I've been beaten within an inch of my life, and I'd like that to not happen again."
They gestured to some of the scars on their face.

Aesir glanced over to Maze, then back to the others at the table. They yawned slightly. It had been a long and very strange day. At least they were safe, though.

Aesir turned away.
"Oh- uh, well… No, if we need to do more before turning in for the night, we can. I don't mind all that much. What else did you have in mind?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Maze shrugged his shoulders, stretching. "I mean, it's just a bit early to go to bed, but if you want to, I can certainly take you back to our room. I was just going to hang out with these losers tonight, really." he gestured to the other three apprentice Seers, who had fallen back into their easy bickering.

@Becfromthedead group

"Well, that actually sounds like fun. And relatively relaxing. I'd love to join, as long as I'm not in the way or anything," Aesir replied, "I just wasn't looking forward to more walking around the school. I've had more than enough touring."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I get that. This school is confusing sometimes. But you'll get the hang of it." they said, leaning back a little bit and hten glancing over at his friends. Arlo was cackling, and Darcy was rolling her eyes. Josef just looked amused.

@Becfromthedead group

"I'm sure I will," Aesir said with an easy smile.
"Anyhow, what do you guys do for fun around here?"
Their attention drifted to the group of friends, who seemed to take a bizarre amount of joy from bickering amongst themselves.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Maze looked over at the other three again, smiling a little. "We make fun of each other." he replied goodnaturedly. "Play games, explore. That sort of thing."

Arlo looked over. "Hey, did you tell them about the old wing yet?"

@Becfromthedead group

"Oh, the burned down, super off-limits one? That was one of the first things Maze told me about," Aesir answered, laughing softly.
They eyed Arlo and tilted their head a little to the side.
"Weird magic shit and all that? I'm fine staying faaaaar away from that wing."
Their voice was tinged with unease. In the back of their mind, Aesir was worried that the group might try to make them venture there. They wouldn't tell, but that was not something they wanted to get involved with. But this group wasn't the type, right?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Arlo nodded a little bit, then shrugged. "I dunno, I want to explore it." he replied, leaning back in his seat. "I bet there's all kindsa cool shit in there, y'know?"

Darcy rolled her eyes. "You're going to inhale ash and choke on it, Arlo, you fucking moron."

"Hey! I'm right!" he replied, glaring at her.

@Becfromthedead group

"Cool? It's probably creepy as all hell in there," Aesir said with a shudder.
They put a hand on their chin pensively.
"Although, now that you mention it? Do any of you know what it was like and what was there before it burned to the ground?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I mean…it burned a long time ago." Arlo said, shrugging his shoulders. "That's why I think it would be so cool. I wonder if there's anything interesting in there."

"It held classrooms and some dorms, like the other wings." Josef said, looking over at Aesir. "From what we've been told, there was experiments going on that affected the rate at which the fire spread."

@Becfromthedead group

"What, like alchemical stuff?" Aesir guessed, "And, exactly how long ago?"
They gazed across the group of people.
"I'm sure it's cool, but as far as I'm concerned, someone else can sift through that rubble. I'm plenty happy and safe on this side of the school," they laughed, "I've been in enough weird-ass magical situations to know when to stay back."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I believe so. The stories…conflict." Josef replied, a faint frown pulling at his brows. "It is strange, is all. Fascinating."

Arlo shrugged a shoulder. "I think it's stupid. The past is the past, we're more concerned with the future."

"Arlo, much of our future sight depends on what happens now and in the past, you cannot ignore it." Josef argued, shaking his head at the other man.
