Name: James Elias Beau
Nicknames: Jam, Eli
Gender and Sexuality: Male but sometimes prefers to present feminine or wear fem clothing, his sexuality isn’t really labeled but he’s likely bisexual
Age: 16
Looks: 5’6 and kinda scrawny but still soft around the middle because he’s still a kid. Medium tone brown skin and short kinky hair, dyed bright red but deep brown at the roots. Black-brown eyes, hooded with thick eyebrows, a wide nose, and full lips. He’s a little roughed up, scars on his knees, elbows, and palms from tripping or skidding them. He runs cold so he wears a lot of warm or oversized clothes, including lots of sweats and overalls. Sometimes he’ll put his hair in box braids with beads but usually he leaves it natural.
Backstory: He grew up on Earth but left for the colony with his mother after his parents had a messy divorce and she volunteered to join the colony as a mechanic. Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after they arrived due to acceleration sickness and catching pneumonia. To avoid being sent back to Earth to his volatile father, James took up his mother’s job as best as possible, mostly picking up small engineering jobs for those maintaining the colony, especially Gale and Bella. He’s found himself a little home with them and others in the colony, but his future feels uncertain, and his uncertainty can make him agressive at times. Due to his parents divorce and his mother’s death, he has trouble articulating his affection and can seem erratic or rude at times. More than anything, he wants to prove that he is integral to the colony and ultimately become indispensable.
Other: Kind of a dick, avoids “showing weakness” or being sappy by cutting his emotion with insults. Full of teenage angst and ambition.
