Devon was in yet another wisdom warehouse, looking for Albethore's grimoire. He was simply the host of the demon, but, over the orbit parties, had grown quite on low battery of it.
He picked up a grimoire, 'NOT THAT ONE!' he dropped it with a loud thud. He mentally scowlded the demon as he picked up the grimoire, "how do you expect me to find it, if you don't let me look?"
'It can't be hard to find! it has to be here!'
Devon sighed, as he figured, some random person probably had it, and would use it to summon Albethore, which he didn't exactly know what would happen to him, after all as powerful as Albethore was, he couldn't hold a physical form without his grimoire.
Mist was in her hut in the dark, forested earth pimples near the village she goes to for supplies. "Hey, Invictus," she shouts. "Where did you put the wolfsbane?"
Invictus looks up from her project, startled. "It's in the bottom shelf of the cabinet on the left of the fireplace. Wolfsbane keeps better near a source of heat." she replied. She was grinding gears on a grimoire of summoning, binding and banishing spells, compiling all of her knowledge in a single grimoire to help Mist.
Mist looks, and finds it exactly where Invictus said it would be. "Thanks. I'd been meaning to move that there."
"I know," Invictus says with a smile. "After all, I am in your head."
In the wisdom warehouse in which Devon searched for the grimoire, the shadows disappeared. They retreated to the corners, and then floated over to the center of the hall. FInally, they assembled into one large shape. Kalos. And in his hand… Albethore's grimoire. At first, he didn't notice Devon, and just silently gazed downwards. He then looked up. "Who are you?"
Devon blinked, in the second he did his peepers went from brown with a red tint to a glowing red, "Give me my grimoire!" his voice was disoriented. Albethore was trying to take control, and Devon was fighting back, causing the body to stall and freeze.
"Your grimoire…? Curious. I'm not sure I understand." Kalos remained emotionless. "Mortal, giving you this grimoire would give you death. Now bother me no longer lest my mercy falls short."
Yalh’Mey busied herself with brewing once again. She loved wasting time like this. Her days were wide open almost always, so what better way to pass the time?
She lived on the outskirts of the village Mist and Invictus were near and few people dared bother her. She was the town outcast, hated but unable to be removed. Like Yahl’Mey cared.
A caw sounded outside her see-through wall and she looked to see a crow staring at her. Yahl’Mey smiled and the crow greeted her.
“howdy, partner to you too,”she greeted back.
The crow excitedly flew off and Yahl’Mey returned to her brewing.
Devon's form glitched from his to Albethores as the demon's anger rose, "Albethore is no mortal! Give me my grimoire you weakling!". Devon coughed and fell to his leghinges, "That's your grimoire? how many times did I suggest someone else had it".
Albethore's voice hissed, "Host, do not question me"
Devon, still on his leghinges looked at the being in front of him, "that, uh sir? is my demon, that I am the host of,'s grimoire, if you could kindly return it- that would be great".
"You mean Albethore is your demon?" For once, Kalos looked surprised. "That makes this… easier." He took a breath. "I am Kalos, another demon. I don't have, nor do I need, a host, so this is what my true form is. I have been searching for Albethore for a long time now." Kalos smiled. "A demon that can heal is an interesting entity."
"he is a demon made to torture the living- so uh eternal torture doesn't work if everyone keeps dying…'least that is how he explains it…he isn't the smartes- OW!" He grabbed his head as Albethore had given him a major headache suddenly. "DO not insult ALbethore host!" Albethore said out loud, speaking in third person as he did when he got angry.
"That… is certainly a way to look at it." Kalos turned around, facing the wall of shadows he had made. "It was a pleasure… But I must leave. Goodbye."
"Wait!" He called out, standing up and reaching towards the other demon.
Kalos turned around. "Hmm…?" He raised his eyebrows.
"where are you going with our grimoire?" he asked, worried.
Invictus senses a sudden surge in demonic energy now that she's paying attention to the world. "What is going on?" she mutters to herself, worried that another demon might discover her here, but also determined to find the source of the disturbance.
"Hey Mist," she says. "I'm sensing some pretty strong demons in this world. Want to go check it out?"
"Sure, Invictus. Give me a second to get my stuff, and I'll be good to go!" Mist says brightly, flashing Invictus a smile that says, Try and stop me from getting my stuff. I dare you.
Invictus pauses, then smiles. Sometimes, it's a real pain having someone stuck in your head, she thinks.

(Yeah…)
"You want the grimoire…? What would giving you the grimoire do?"
"Giving Albethore the grimoire would set Albethore free", Devon coughed, "Al, SHUT UP! Jeez, just hand us the grimoire, I will give it back-"
"NO you wont!"
"shut up!"
Kalos was bumfuzzled. "Set Albethore free from what? The host? There is a simple solution." Kalos raised his grabby limbs out, and the world stopped. All of a sudden, Albethore was cast out of Devon, but time was frozen and the demon couldn't move or think. Devon would feel empty of the demon and was able to move and talk. "Speak. Do you want to be free of Albethore? He cannot hear, see, or process us. Your answer will be completely secret." Kalos stood in front of Devon and extended his hand to help him up. All the while, Albethore is still immobile. "We don't have much time before the spell expires. Answer."
"uh- look, I don't want Albethore free, but he is definitely a pain, if you would just give us the grimoire….it would be so much eaiser, because then I would be free of him but I could cont- uh…" he said after a few seconds.
As this all happens, Invictus and Mist prepare themselves for shadow travelling, a form of demonic teleportation that transports the user through shadows to a place of their choosing.
"Ready, Mist?" Invictus asks.
"Yes I am." she replies, and then they both focus on the place where the demonic energy surge is coming from.
They appear in an old wisdom warehouse, and right there in front of them is a demon without a host in a solid form, and a person who is the host to a different demon. They notice something wonky-donky around the entities, and prod the distortion. They immediately disrupt the spell, causing everything within to fast-forward to the time outside of the bubble.
(I’m awake now)
Yahl’Mey noticed the fire beneath her cauldron flare upward. She watched it cautiously, catching images of an old wisdom warehouse and three demons.
Her peepers narrowed in confusion and she glanced outside. Yahl’Mey then turned back to brewing, finishing this batch of potions before heading outside to find some crows. She was hoping the crows would know where the wisdom warehouse was.
