Lux had no idea where to go. They had a hoodie pulled over their head and a mask on their nose and mouth to obscure their features, but they knew shit had really hit the fan this time. They headed for Alex's house, figuring they'd have to explin the truth to him, and hopefully, he'd help.

Alex sat in his room, playing on his phone. Completely unaware that his best friends life had went to hell.

Lux knocked on the door to the house, shifting anxiously and hoping the door would be opened soon.

Alex heard the door, and as he was home alone he walked to the door, and opened it after a moment, "Lux, hey"

Lux gave a tense smile. "Hey, can I, ah, come in?"

Alex moved out of the way, "of course, is everything alright?"

Lux came in, taking off the mask and hood. "I…not really."

"what happened?" Alex asked, concerned.

Lux bit their lower lip. "I…are your parents home?"

Alex shook his head, “they went out, why?” He put his hand on their shoulder, “lux, what happened?”

Lux took a deep breath. "First, are there any cameras in your house? Like, security ones?"

Alex shook his head, “I think we used to have one at the backdoor, but I smashed that a long time ago” he shrugged.

"Alright." Lux studied Alex. "I, ah, have something I need to…confess."

Alex nodded and sat down on the couch. “I am listening” he said, in like the most serious tone possible by him.

Lux sat down too, fidgeting with their hair. "First, you have to promise you won't…scream."

Alex blinked, "ok I promise I won't scream"

"It's, ah…" they didn't know how to do this. So they just reached back and undid the pins holding their ears back, wincing faintly. Then they gathered their hair in their hands and pulled it back. The soft, rabbit-like ears shifted into view, and Lux watched Alex nervously.

Alex just stared for a moment, not sure how to react, nor understanding fully what was happening.

They blinked, still waiting anxiously for some kind of response from Alex. "They're, ah, not a body mod." they said quietly. "Neither are my freckles. Or my hair."

"what are you?" he muttered.

They looked away for a moment. "Ah…not a human?"

Alex rolled his eyes, "there are way to many things in this world that are not human bro"

They shrugged faintly. "I'm not from Earth, then, how about that."

"so- … you lied, you do know stuff about aliens!" he stood up.

"Well…yeah." they said slowly.
