I called my fantasy world the Seven Realms (because there are seven realms), but the one where most of the novel is set in is called the Five Islands, and the continent within the Five Islands that the novel is primarily set in is called Arwaëa. I made the name up–it just sounded very interesting to me.

The only named 'verse I have is called Ustara. Was flipping through a few generators and came across something similar, which was then tweaked into Ustara. (I mostly liked the name 'cause it's short enough to stick and it's close to Ostara.)

I like naming places what I imagine the people living there would call them. An example is the continent of Red Horizons, dubbed by the colonists who were so captivated by the vista of a brilliant blood-red rising sun in front of them, the glow of distant active volcanoes, and the countless crimson caps of towering mushrooms when they landed on the western shore one fateful morning.

The world of my medieval fantasy is called Malcera. I had already formed the main character's name, Kalia Anzora, so I played with sounds until I came up with a name that had a similar hard sound and "ah" ending, as with most of the names in the book.

If you want to make something truly alien then it might be prudent to not give it a name at all. People like to name things to make them more familiar. It is a human habit. However, if your world is not populated by humans they might not have the same tendency to name things. It conveys how different your world is from our norm to the reader.

At first, my world was called Lineria based off of a game but that didn't work out so much So I named a country in my world Lineria while out of the blue I decided to name the world Itoria.

My whole world is called Ether, which I mostly picked because it sounded similar to Earth but meant something more fantastic/out of the ordinary. I haven't figured out what to call the Fae world yet–right now, I've been calling it Below, but it needs a more creative name.

My world is called CaerLyndon. That name, like the world, has been under construction for a long time. I chose Lyndon because I wanted it to have a pseudo medieval England feel to it, and the Caer part just sounded cool. Although it’s not really a world, more of a single country/small continent.

@WingardiumLeviAnna

My world is called Warna (which is the Earth's core). My characters live in Warna and travel to the surface of the Earth, which they call Anraw, to control color. :) (Warna means colors in indonesian).

My friend and I are starting to write a story and the world we created was called Crysilla (Cri-sill-ah). We just made it up

I have a couple worlds going on. The first one is called the Five Nations. In case it wasn't painfully obvious, it is called such because it's a made up of 5 nations.
It was originally six, but then I found out that there's a First Nations reserve with the same name so I felt kinda weird about using it. The sixth nation wasn't really an important part of the story so it was pretty expendable. Nothing really changed when I scrapped it.
Edit to add: The names of the Five Nations are Faralia, Falthra, Kvar, Arribea, and Stalvenia

My other one is called Toltova. I just got that one from a fantasy place name generator.

That's the world but the main continent is Medeis.
Funny story, I put medeis into google translate and it told me it meant magic in Latin which then led to me remembering that I had put magic into google translate when I first started Medeis and took the word without changing it at all. I regret it but there's no turning back now. Just change the pronunciation and everything will be alright.

The name of the civilization where my main characters are from in my sort of fantasy story is called Tristesi, which I got when I changed "tristesse" (sadness in French) a bit. I guess it fits because it's a dystopia, so.
Another civilization, a large island surrounded by smaller islands, is called Seacrest, because, ya know. Islands.
Most of the rest of the civilizations are just last names I thought were cool lol

@9th Overlord

Argeddon for my dark fantasy world. When naming my world i sort of wanted an almost 'hopeless dystopian' vibe to it, and 'Armageddon' seemed cool for a name. I was also debating 'Apocalypse' at the time. After removing a syllable, I had my name!

@TheGoldenLegend

My main world is called Veicarro (A Sci-fi world stuck in the medieval ages), the other important world in my story is called Zarreen, I didn't really care for this name actually, but Zarreen is the apocalyptic world of death so I bet the person that named this world hated it too so they gave it this name.
