Victor had worked for weeks. He had bled, and toiled, and nearly starved to death several times, but he’d worked, he’d made it work, damn all the consequences and damn what people thought. He had created the perfect human, joints supple and strong, features in proportion, perfectly so, facial structure handsome and strong-jawed, long flowing black hair nearly weaving its way off the table. This person was beautiful, perfect in every way, made to be so. They were… wonderful.

Victor had intended, originally, for them to be a man. But upon further consideration, his creation was far beyond simple terms of “man” and “woman”, they were divinity personified, divinity incarnate. They were tall, incredibly so, approximately eight feet in height and made entirely to proportion. He’d had to use some animal parts for this, mainly with the teeth and the legs, but they worked just like any human’s would. He would know, he’d tested all motor functions extensively, making sure everything was perfect.

So when the storm neared, Victor grew excited. He’d been preparing for this moment for quite a long while. He connected cables to the creature, this beautiful, perfect man, arranged instruments to a tee so nothing would even slightly be off. As the storm neared its zenith, he grew impatient. But when lightning struck, he was prepared. The cadaver shook, jolted nearly off the table with the shock, and went still. Scars had formed in lightning patterns across their skin, matching perfectly with the lines of the stitching. Victor climbed down from his post in his flat, down from the window, and went to examine the thing. Was it alive? Was it dead? Had it failed? He didn’t know.

When one often described life, they considered it beautiful. It did not feel beautiful… at first the world was black, just something whirling within the atoms that connected the world. It was quite terrifying really. But… the first thing experienced was… pain. Even if it was for a brief moment. It felt as if there was a thick, suffocating blanket stuffed over them. The vessel ached, what was it searching for? What was the purpose that there was now? What did this body need? What was it searching for-

Oh. Air. That is what it was searching for. The lips slowly fell open, inhaling the electrified air. The creature had no understanding of what was happening now, it's body simply acted on instinct now, desperately scrambling to stay alive now that life had been breathed into them. The body jerked for a moment, trying to gain understanding of the world they had now been thrust into.

The first thing they noticed was the heat of whatever they were on. It felt strange really. They didn't understand a thing about the world they had been awoken into. Their eyes slowly opened, taking in the room around them, taking in what they could see of their body… It was confusing. It was scary. The first emotion they felt? Fear. Their ears perked at the sound of something moving and the fear amplified. Their eyes move slowly in the direction of the noise and they pushed themselves up, looking over their body. They were confused for a moment, trying to get used to and move the limbs connected to their body. It was odd to say the least.

Victor squealed with glee, then began to scream in terror. It was horrifying, and the first emotion he truly felt in full force was a mixture of fear and joy. This… it wasn’t supposed to happen, his creation was hideous, with watery yellow eyes that faintly glowed in the dim light, the oddly moving joints, the rattling gasps and grasps for breath. “Oh God, what have I done? What have I… no, you’re not supposed to be like this!” he said, reaching for a sharp tool on the cart beside the operating table. Victor took in a shuddering breath, he had to end this. He stabbed, but he missed, hitting the wretch’s shoulder instead. He could only imagine the type of pain the poor thing must be in, but he couldn’t think while running as far and as fast away from the freak of science he’d just unleashed into the world.

Victor hid in his bedroom, breathing hard. No, no, it wasn’t supposed to be like this. His perfect creation, it was disgusting! A monster! He clutched at his throat, loosening his cravat a little for better intake of air, and climbed into bed. Maybe the thing would bleed out and die, with luck.

He fell asleep surprisingly quickly for the shock. But Victor’s dreams were far from peaceful. He saw images of blood, organs, wires coming to strangle him, to kill him, he held his mother’s corpse in his arms. He was young again, at a funeral for someone he had never met. He was harvesting organs from healthy victims, their screams echoed in his ears. And he saw that face, that hideous face, malformed and misshapen with eyes unlike any he had seen before, disgusting, it was disgusting, he couldn’t breathe again and-

Victor woke up to the moon creeping in through the shutters, and thunder rumbling in the distance. The storm had passed, mostly, and now here he was, sitting in terror of his creation. What had he done, the poor thing had just come back to life and he’d stabbed it! He had to fix this, before it got out of hand. Victor crept down the hallway, back to find his creation. The doors were locked, there was no easy way out so hopefully it was still here where he could give it some basic medical care.

(Compared to canon Victor, this one actually experiences sympathy for other living beings.)

(Also, the gremlins are making it very hard for me to take my posts seriously lmao.)

@Vuclan-is-tired

(Gotcha! And oh my god same XD, these fricken gremlins man. Also, do you want the creature to leave like it did in the book, or stay in the room?)

Deleted user

(Either! But Victor will catch up with the creature to fix the wound, is what I’m mainly planning. And like, then he decides to just. Take care of his monster child. Because yes.)

Noise… it was loud, coming from a creature in front of them. Why… why were they screaming? It was so loud… it hurt- It said something once the screaming was done, the creature did not understand what they were saying… what they were grabbing. An expression much like confusion crossed over the creatures face, and then fear when the creature ran toward them. It was clear that whatever the thing was in front of them was fearful… aggressive. They tried desperately to move, but their joints refused and pain blossomed throughout their newly formed body. A cry of pain, an earth shattering sound that sounded sad and lost… and in so much pain.

The creature… the monster was not supposed to be like this? What did that mean? Stabbed by the first other living thing was traumatic. Horrifying really. It hurt so much, and strangled cries left the lips of the creature as it cried. It's hands slowly picked up on instinct to try to desperately remove the thing causing the pain. All life had been so far was a shitty experience fulled with pain and confusion. They didn't understand why… the creature managed to yank out the thing embedded so deeply within their shoulder and another cry of pain left their lips.

They could not stay there, they knew that much. It was too dangerous- what if the thing that had attacked them came back for more? Came back to kill them off once and for all? There was an odd feeling in the chest of the creature, it was painful. Everything was just pain and confusion now. The creature tried to stand desperately, but was only able to prop themselves against a wall and stumble. After the third time they fell, they simply crawled, trying desperately to escape in hopes to avoid the brutality of being harmed again. Eventually, the creature tried to stand again, managing to handle it. Strong legs… yes that was good. But it still hurt, and they were still bleeding. They were unable to make it very far, collapsing from energy spent and blood loss. Still trapped within the house… the house where the angry thing had stabbed them.

Victor crept through dark rooms, candles long since having blown out. He lit one, however, he needed some light, and carried it through the empty rooms of this small, small place. He reached the room where he’d first reanimated the… he didn’t know what to call it, but it was where he’d done the deed and now he had to deal with the consequences, especially from his violent actions, horrifying really. This thing was brand new, new to the world, new to being alive. And he’d… he’d stabbed it, caused it pain, in the first few seconds of life. He’d deal with the horror later, he was going to fix his mistakes now. He had a heart, he did, he needed to prove he did or what would become of him?

Victor found the creature collapsed on the ground, writhing in pain but too exhausted to get up. He looked them over-scarred by lightning, bleeding from the shoulder but it wasn’t too deep from what he could see. Victor threw a blanket over their bare body, and went to fetch a washcloth and a basin of water from the well outside, then hurry back up to his flat to clean the beast of a person off. They were still there, thank goodness, too exhausted to move, and it was Victor’s fault. “Hey, I don’t know if you can understand me but… I’m going to clean off all that blood, okay? Can you understand me?” he asked, kneeling down before the creature and patting the side of their face gently. “Oh, sod this.” he groaned, wiping off their face first and then working his way down to where he could reach, trying to get rid of the blood slowly pooling onto the carpet.

Their ears had picked up the noise of footsteps and an audible whine of fear left their lips. They didn't understand what was happening, everything was so confusing, so painful, so scary. The poor creature had simply woken up only to be stabbed and yelled at. What had the creature done wrong other then merely existing? The thing that had yelled at them and stabbed them was coming back- were they going to die so quickly? They had just been born into the world, they had done nothing wrong. Fearful eyes landed on the thing that had stabbed them earlier and a pained and fearful cry left their lips, it was pathetic really, since they were too weak to move, in too much pain, their mind muddled with confusion.

They startled when the… whatever it was, fall over their body. What was happening? Where they being attacked again? The thing left again… only to come back with something that the creature did not understand. The thing spoke again and the creature tilted their head, straining to understand. They flinched when the thing touched their face, their expression filled with fear and confusion in their slightly glowing yellow eyes. They didn't understand what was happening, but their body was so new, so confusing. The childlike innocence detected in the creatures eyes was there. Why was there so much pain? What was the thing in front of them saying? What were they doing?

Victor sighed. The creature before him was too good for this, he knew now. They would have never harmed him… but that wasn’t even what he was afraid of, was it? He was afraid of having failed, and he was afraid of his ego being even slightly bruised, that was it. Once he’d cleaned off all the blood he could, he went to get some more blankets and a pillow from his bed, he’d be fine sleeping on bare sheets tonight but first he had to get this thing covered up. He first ripped up an old sheet and began to wrap the creature’s shoulder, though, maneuvering the heavy, limp body as best he could. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I know it hurts, please forgive me.” he said softly, finishing wrapping the makeshift bandage and resolving to get some medical supplies later on tomorrow, if all went to plan.

(Pfft yeah. Victor is officially trying to Dad. It is so far not going very well.)

The creature looks up at the thing with fear, which was well deserved seeing how the thing had attacked them and yelled at them earlier. They had done nothing wrong, yet they were the one being attacked. They let out soft noises as their body was moved around, hissing out in pain when their shoulder was touched and nearly yanking out of the touch. But when they realized they weren't being hurt, they looked up at the thing now talking once again. If anything they were more confused now. First the thing in front of them had yelled and attacked them. But now the thing was helping them? It was odd, but at least the pain had… somewhat ceased. They were tired and it was apparent, their heavy body slowly going lax. Their chest rose and fell evenly, so it was clear that the creature wasn't dead. That was good at least.

Victor covered the creature in more blankets and shifted the pillow as best he could under their enormous head. He’d had to find a large skull and that hadn’t been easy, he’d reassembled and disassembled and reassembled the thing a few thousand times before getting it to work. “I shan’t have you dying on me, not tonight. I put far too much work into you for that.” he said, taking the last blanket from where they’d previously been set and covering himself in it, resting his head on his arm. “I’m not letting you out of my sight, Tiny. Ha, I think I like that, Tiny. I guess that’s what I’ll call you, until…” Victor yawned, “until we find you a proper name.” he closed his eyes and slowed his breathing, settling in to sleep.

@Vuclan-is-tired

The creature tilted its head… Tiny? Is that what the creature was being called now? Tiny paused at the feeling of more of those things falling over them… was oddly calming. The warmth was calming. The creature, or rather Tiny, glanced at the thing in front of them before mimicking their movements of falling asleep. It was nice, falling asleep. It gave their mind a break from the chaos that had ensued since they first woke up. They didn't have the slightest clue what was happening at the moment, but at least they were getting a break. The world went black and it felt… peaceful. It was the most peace they had felt since waking up.

Victor fell asleep similarly, and awoke to a rising sun. He got up, patted his creation on the head, and went to set them up some breakfast. His creation was probably starving from the turmoil of last night, and he hoped he could alleviate that. Victor had never been the best of cooks, but he could certainly make things work in a pinch and prepare something reasonably palatable. He cooked up some eggs and set them on slices of day-old rolls, then took them to the creature for him and them to consume. “G’morning, Tiny, how’d you like something to eat then?” he asked, setting one plate down for his creation and starting to dig into the other.

@Vuclan-is-tired

Tiny had slept like a rock, which was probably their body trying to recover from the events of yesterday. They grunt softly when they felt something pat their head and their eyes slowly open. They sit up slowly, trying to gather their bearings. A faint hiss of pain left their lips as they moved their shoulder. Their stomach grumbled at the sight and smell of food. They haven't eaten since they had… well. Would it be called birth? No. That didn't seem right. They glance at the food and tilt their head before glancing at the thing and seeing how it ate the food before digging into the food as well. It was good, and it was warm. They liked it which was good.

Deleted user

“Wow, you really were starving. Hmm, I should take into account your height, do you think you’re still hungry? I can make more, I just don’t want you eating me out of house and home, ha.” he said, looking down at them, then coming to sit down at their level. “I don’t know if you can understand me, but I think that maybe, we can make this work out. I’ll have to teach you language of course, but you seem pretty intelligent so it shouldn’t be too hard.” Victor started to ramble, a bit aimlessly, about plans he had for them, what they might be able to do, how they’d have to stay here while he went into town and got some supplies and then upon realizing, making a few futile gestures to attempt to convey the message.

His food was getting cold, almost completely ignored as he went on, occasionally taking a stray bite or two, but for the most part just leaving it. “Now, where was I? Oh, yes, language. You probably don’t understand a bit of this, which is okay, but I was thinking that once I’m back I can start on lessons with you. That will at least make you able to ask for things, which will be good. Wow, you’re probably in a lot of pain, I should get some sort of drug to fix that. Yeah, that would be good. Uh, stay right here, if you can move, otherwise don’t move too much as you might tear the stitching.” he said, giving them a frenzied glance.

He left the flat and locked the doors behind him, not wanting Tiny to get out only to be attacked by villagers with no sense of sympathy for the wretch. He was probably the only one who cared about his creation being honest, they probably would be unrecognizable to anyone even if he used about the same parts for the face. Nobody would care, so Victor had to. Oh, damn, he had classes today… and he’d been skipping them for weeks to work on his creation. And he’d probably have to skip more to get back to his monster. Oh, well.

He’d get what he needed and once he was sure that Tiny could fare well on their own, he would get right back to school. It couldn’t take that long. Right? He shook his head, puffed up in determination, and began to walk briskly and penguinlike towards the shops. Once he had all that he needed, an ordeal as he’d had to overexplain to everyone why he was covered in blood and even that was mostly lies (“ah, I’m a medical student and we were doing an examination of the human body for university classes I’m definitely still attending, yes, sir, definitely not locked up in my house doing things to spite God, who would ever think that? Certainly not you, mister butcher.”). Once he got back, though, he relaxed somewhat, opening the door and carrying in with him the large amount of things he had bundled up specially for his creation.

“Tiny, I’m home! Tiny?” he asked, looking around wildly for any sign of his creation.
