((Okay, I might be dumb, but so Cayenne is paying off his family's debt by working here? And he's still alive, right? And he's just gotten there or something along those lines?))

@Calanthe

Cayenne was terrified, as he gently knocked on the door of the god's mansion. He had heard so many horror stories from his family and friends of how the god behaved and how he treated his servants, and well he was simply scared, and well and furious at himself and his family. Furious at himself for getting into this situation and agreeing to help them, and at his family for getting into this mess in the first place. And this is the perfect reason as to why you don't tamper with death, you let it happen when it's supposed to so that you're great-great-grandson Doesn't have to handle this mess. Cayenne thought with a wry smile, as he waited to be let into the home. It's so cold down here. He thought with a shudder as a gust of wind nearly knocked him over. So cold and lonely, perfect for the god of death I suppose. He glanced around warily, hoping that someone would come and let him into the manor, or if it was even possible, let him go back to his home. "Lucky Chryseis." He grumbled, "She's getting married so she didn't have to do this. Shame I couldn't come up with a decent excuse." Cayenne with a sigh, shaking is head, as he tried to just stay warm as the night continued to pass.

Kuro looks up when he heard the soft knock on his door. How odd for someone to be here so late… Or rather early in the morning… He sighed and slowly walked to the door. He inhaled quietly and brushes his hair from his face and straightened himself out. He cleared his throat and answered. "Yes…?" He paused and looked down, noticing the druid in front of him. "Sweet stars, what are you doing out here at this time of night! You'll freeze!" He brought the other into the house that was exponentially warmer than the outside. He wraps the other in a heavy cloak. He mumbled a few things in a few cursed languages. A small cat wove its way around the new comers legs, purring softly. "Goodness. You must be the dryad I was expecting in the morning-" he sighed softly and gazed at the other. "Well. Better early than late." He sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. "Well. Let's go get you warm. Is there anything you'd like to drink? Eat, maybe?" He asks quietly. The mansion was big, looming over the both of them.

@Calanthe

Cayenne just stared at the god in shock as he began to speak to him. This is not what I expected, at all… He thought with a shiver, pulling the cloak around him a bit tighter. "Oh, erm, no." Then remembering he added on a quiet, "No thank you, Mr. Moreno. I was unaware that I had come so early, my father had told me that I was to be here around 10, but then I was a bit delayed with goodbyes, and well I thought I was terribly late." He looked down and say the cat rubbing itself against him, and he gently reached down to pet it, "Hello little friend, a warm smile appearing on his face as he began to calm down, Maybe this god isn't all that bad? In fact he seems a bit friendly.

@Vuclan-is-tired

He smiled a little, albeit awkward. He wasn't expecting anyone here until morning. He hums softly as he brews himself some tea, his eyes shutting for a brief moment. "Well. Your room is prepared, so of course you're more than welcome to get comfortable. But I'm guessing you would like to get warm first." He smiles. "Ah, please. Call me Kuro. Moreno is a bit erm…" He shrugged slowly before taking the kettle off the stove and pouring it into a cup. "Bit much for me." he chuckles and stirs in some honey. "Well. Time works differently here in the underworld, but you'll get a watch to help you keep track of both this world and the outside world." The cat mewed happily, purring and leaning into his hand. "It seems that Nyx has taken a liking to you. She's not usually this friendly." He smiled a little bit and took another sip of tea. "Ah. Since you're here. A few simple rules, being tardy does have consequences, the first few days are fine since you're new, please leave the snake alone, Monty doesn't like being touched, please do not touch the roses in the front, those are very special roses and never go into the garden." He explains calmly. "They're very simple rules. You're paying off a family debt, correct?" He asks slowly, taking another sip of his tea.

@Calanthe

"Ah, of course," he said nodding to what the man began to lay down the ground rules. All were rather fair and he couldn't argue with them, but now he was a bit interested in the garden. What could be so wrong with a garden, and a garden that somehow survives down here ought to be special. Perhaps I can somehow sneak a glimpse of it one of these days. He was to stay for…his parents had never given him the exact date, always just saying that it would be only for a little bit. "Erm, yes, Mr. Kuro" That habit isn't going to go away, after all he is a god and currently my boss, so he deserves some form of respect, right? "Now I must ask, how long am I to stay here? I never was well, officially given the time." He said quietly as he began to gently scratch the cat behind her ears. "I do hate to bother you with that question though, but I was just curious."

@Vuclan-is-tired

He nods and smiles at the other. "As long as these rules are respected and understood, then there should be no worries about anything." He hummed quietly. The garden was his sacred space. No one, even fellow gods, were allowed into that place. Just him and him alone. He smiled gently at the other before humming quietly as he slowly whirled his fingers. A paper appeared in his hands and he sighed quietly. "Not too long. Only a few years…" He hummed and hands the other the paper. (You can determine how long the sentence should be.) He smiles again before sipping at the tea again. "You're more than welcome to visit your family on a few occasions." He never really liked having people pay off their debts, at least, not the people who committed the crime. He found it unfair. So usually when people were sent here because of their ancestors mistakes he usually knocked about 1/4 or 1/2 of their debt off, depending on how bad it was.

@Calanthe

"Of course, that's completely fair." Maybe I won't go into the garden, maybe I can just, no, you're not going to do anything of that nature, you're here to serve this god, not make trouble for yourself. But he was brought back to reality when he heard his sentence, A few years, father told me it would only be a month or so. His hands began to tremble as he took the paper into his hands ad looked down until he found what he was looking for, Good gods…I'm to be here for ten years? I-I'll miss everything, the holidays, the center, and Chry's wedding. He wanted to cry so badly, but he knew that it would be unwise to do so, after all, he wasn't the only person to have to come down and work for this god, and perhaps other people had had much worse of sentences before him. But still, he just sad, oh so sad, as though all of his plans for the future were gone. After a few moments of moping and feeling sorry for himself, he brightened up a little bit, You know, there''s nothing that I can do to change this, ten years is ten years, and well as long as no one does anything foolish, I'll be alright. "Mr. Kuro?" He began as he folded the paper back and handed it to the god, "May I just go down to my room please, the trip was rather taxing, and well I am a bit tired."

@Vuclan-is-tired

No one except Kuro knew what was in that garden. And Kuro wanted to keep it that way. It was going to stay that way as long as possible. his eyes were gentle as he watched the other take the paper. "You won't age here." He mutters quietly. "Many call it a blessing, others call it a curse. I…" He sighed quietly and glances at the other, watching his face carefully. "I removed a few years since you are not the one responsible for the debt. You are allowed to leave, but only for specific reasons and you will have deadlines to return." He murmured softly. He took the paper back and it disappeared into thin air. "Yes?" He turns his gaze back to the other. His eyes soften and he nods. "Of course. Please follow me." He waves the other to follow him, guiding him through a maze of doors and hallways. He hands the other a key. "This will unlock any doors within the mansion." He smiles gently and hands it to him. "It will help you get through the mansion." He opens a door with the key and it reveals a rather nice room. A simple bed with blankets folded on top, as well as a few pillows. A dresser and a mirror on top. A door that led into a personal bathroom, candles, and a few other items of necessity. "I hope that it is adequate. You are allowed to make it your own overtime." He offers a gentle smile. "Please take the next few days to rest and get used to the mansion. Amity will be here in the morning to help you with your things." With that, he leaves the other to the bedroom.

@Calanthe

"I-I, thank you." The boy said, still in shock, even if a few years had been removed, ten years was still a long time. But it could be much worse, so I ought to just be glad that the god had had some form of mercy on me. He thought trying to just be positive in the seemingly dreary. He followed the man studying the beautiful portraits and decor on the walls, "My goodness…" He breathed quietly, just in awe of the splendor of the palace. This place is gorgeous, perhaps staying here won't be too bad. "Oh, thank you." He said taking the key from the man and sliding it into his pocket. When they entered the room, Cayenne couldn't help but smile, it was just rather nice, much nicer than what he had at home, and well he felt that he would definitely enjoy it. He really didn't mind the simplicity of it, but he knew that eventually, he might add wallpaper to it, or something to perhaps make it a bit more similar to his room at home. "Thank you sir," he said as he walked the god go, then once the door was closed he lit a candle, trying to just regain a bit his strength. it was dark down here, and well, he needed all the light he could get. But now he was regretting not having asked the god about what he would be doing or other things about his stay, I'm sure I can ask Amity -whoever that is- about it tom-today.

@Vuclan-is-tired

(He'll probably help Kuro with his work, and work with Kuro in the office. So it's really up to it. Of course, we could also have Cai find the garden, and of course, by then Kuro might have already fallen for Cai. Maybe Cai sees Kuro tending to the garden? Idk. It's totally up to you!)

@Calanthe

((Mmkay, so that's cool. I mean knowing Cai, he'd probably try to find the garden, so uhm, perhaps we could go with that?"))

@Vuclan-is-tired

After a few days of rest and getting used to the manor, it was time for Cayenne to become his first day of work. Amity, a beautiful young woman with hair and skin as white as snow, with eyes as red as blood knocked sharply on his door. She was strict, but very kind, warm, and understanding. She often worked with the new comers, and was close with Kuro. She was brilliant, really. She held a small box in her hands, her expression as emotionless as always. "Good morning, Cayenne. I have your watch and your schedule." She calls quietly.

(Sorry for it being so short)

@Calanthe

(Oh no it's fine)

Cai had gotten used to Amity waking him up rather early in the morning, and today well he was sort of anticipating her arrival. He had always been a bit of an early riser, and well today was no different, although it was somewhat hard to tell if it was morning since both the days and nights were both rather dark. By the time she arrived, he had already gotten dressed for the day, wearing his ironed uniform, and had prepared himself for the day. He opened the door, smiling at her and taking the box and schedule from her, "Thank you, it's really been a bit odd trying to adjust to this new schedule." He said with a sigh as he placed the watch on his wrist. Making sure that everything was in order in his room, he quickly blew out his candles then followed the woman out of the room and into the maze of halls. Although the dryad had had a few days to get used to his new home for the time being he was still unsure where some of the rooms were and was grateful that Amity had taken some time from her day to take him to his destination. As they walked Cai scanned through his schedule and quietly sighed seeing that he was working for Kuro as some sort of secretary or something. I was sort of hoping to just be a servant rather then that, but I'm sure I'm not to be the only there, that might be a bit well odd. He thought with a sigh as they two parted their ways leaving Cayenne in front of a door. He unlocked it and entered the room to see the god there, seemingly waiting for him. "Good morning, Mr. Kuro." Not going to drop that habit. He said quietly, bowing his head slightly ot of respect for the god.

@Vuclan-is-tired

Amity certainly was something when she came to wake him up. Always emotionless, always quietly walking through the halls. She looked young, but appearances were deceiving. According to a few of the other people working there she had been working for Kuro the longest. Apparently her family had a whole shit ton of debt to Kuro. But she was bright when she did talk, and she walked through the halls flawlessly. She waited for him patiently, her eyes gentle. "I'm glad you're slowly getting settled here. Kuro is fair to those that deserve it." She sighed quietly before heading her own separate way.
Kuro usually worked alone, but since he needed help in his office, he figured it best that he have Cayenne work with hum. Gods above… When did this amount of paper work decide to show up… He gave an unamused sound of annoyed before he glanced up when he heard the key to the office open. He hummed and glanced up a little before standing. "Good morning, Cayenne. Please come in." He offers a kind smile to the other, "I hope you've settled in a little more. I understand that this must be a stressful situation for you." He murmured quietly. "Please. I've prepped your desk. We'll head out to the fields later on this afternoon." He offers a kind smile. "Please feel free to ask questions." He motions over to a desk similar to his own.

@Calanthe

Cayenne stepped into the room trying to smile a bit at the god. "Yes, well, it's rather nice here, and I've decided to just make the best of my time here." At least, he's not hurting me. He thought as he moved over to the empty desk. Oh, so I'm to be the only person working directly under him, how nice. Cai sat down in the empty seat, then he looked over at him. "So I'm guessing I'm to help with this paperwork?" That doesn't seem too bad, after all, back at the centre I used to handle that sort of thing exclusively. Well, that was mainly because the other preferred spending their time with the children rather then doing the work that was necessary to run the organiza- wait, perhaps he knows of that, or maybe it was just a lucky guess?

@Vuclan-is-tired

Kuro seemed to smile a little at that, his eyes gentle. "I'm glad. Nothing in this place can hurt you. I hope that you understand that." He offers a small smile before watching him sit down. "I hope that Amity hasn't been to harsh on you?" He signs a few things before nodding at the others words. "Yes. You'll be helping me with paper work, and the you'll be helping me in the fields. It's not to much work. We'll start you off easy and see how you do." For a death god… Kuro seemed so gentle. So kind. He only seemed to ease those around him. His onyx eyes swirled with calm, his body language easy to read. He just seemed… Different than one might expect. Often death was pictured as cruel and dark. Kuro seemed to be the opposite. He picks out a few files. "Here. Start with these. These are souls that do not believe in an afterlife. They need to be marked as 'unbound'. Then check their age. If they are under 16, mark as 'Y' or young. If they are over 16, mark it with an 'A' for access. If they were born with a religion, and seem to have left it. Mark it with an 'L'. That's all you need to do for today." He smiles gently.

@Calanthe

Cai nodded along to what the god was saying, understanding it, but not really focusing on that. He was a bit more focused on god himself. To be honest, the dryad was just so confused, How could so many people say that this god is so terrible and evil, when he seems so nice? He hasn't done a thing to me at all, but yet when people come back from working dor him they all seem to sat that he was terrible to them and did unspeakable things to them. That's just weird… He thought shaking his head slightly. Once he was handed the papers, he quickly thumbed through them, just to get an idea of how many there would be, before grabbing a pen and starting to work. As he began to mark down the papers, putting them into a separate stack. So many people have passed on at such a young age, that's so sad… He thought with a sigh, as he marked yet another person's file with a 'Y', I wonder how they died, or am I even allowed to check that? Mm, let's not. He thought as he placed another file onto the finished stack as he grabbed another to go through, So, I guess I get to look forward to ten years of this… He thought sighed once more, Well, it could be worse, Kuro could be as mean as he's portrayed to be, and he isn't, and well just in general it could be bad.

@Vuclan-is-tired

Kuro seemed so gentle, so soft and light. People always gave death a bad rep. Perhaps it was because death was feared nor understood. No one knew what death was like until they experienced. To some people, that was terrifying. To others, Kuro was the one that took people from them. It was just his job, to reap the souls of the already dying. Some of them had embraced him when he had taken their souls, others just cried and asked why. Every reaction made him feel in some sort of way. Of course, he didn't go to the mortal realm anymore, he was to busy here. So he had his 'mini' reapers go and gather souls. His cats and snakes. Of course they could shift their appearance so that the soul was more willing to go. If a soul was unwilling to go however, they would stay on earth as a spirit, doomed to a life time of misery. It broke his heart when people refused to leave. He never raised a hand to those working for them, simply sending instructions. Amity had suggested that Cayenne worked with him. After all, he had to much paper work piling on him. "You seem to be sighing a lot. May I ask why, Cayenne?" He asks gently, marking another paper and setting it to the side. He didn't look up from his files, just gently worked as he did. "Also. When your hand gets sore, we can move to the fields." He smiles a little bit to himself. Going to the fields was always comforting to him.

@Calanthe

"I know that I'm to handle the files of people that have well, already passed on, but seeing so many children, so young in life dying, it's just rather sad to me." He said shrugging slightly, "Also, if you'd prefer to, I mean, well uhm, you can call me Cai if you'd prefer, I'm not all that used to being called Cayenne that much. The kids from my centre always called me Cai, or Mr. Forrest if they were in trouble, and my family always just calls me Cai, so I mean, if you'd like to call me Cai, then then you can, but uhm I hope that that isn't unprofessional or anything." He said with a small smile. "Alright, then I'll let you know when my hands get tired, also, may I get more files to work on?" He had already finished up with the ones that he had been given and was ready to move on with some more.
