Tohru walked up to his car, a beat-up old sedan that just barely got the job done. He sat down in the driver's seat and started it up, heading over to Adam's house.
The drive wasn't far- really just about ten minutes if you knew how to cut out the major roads to avoid traffic.
He pulled up to the house, taking a deep breath as he put the vehicle back in park. The drive had been pretty calm and quiet, but he was still finding it hard to unwind from the day. At least Adam would be able to help with that.
Tohru walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. He stood back, humming softly to himself.
"Thanks, I try," Adam said, hearing the doorbell, "That's probably Tohru, help yourself to coffee."
Adam started towards the front door, kind of stumbling, but making it without falling and he opened it.
"Hey, thanks for coming, after coffee I'm going to do a sweep to see if anyone forgot anything, and maybe clean, and after that, we can watch a movie or something," Adam said, slurring his words ever so slightly.
"My god, you're drunk," Tohru said, skipping any sort of greeting.
He rolled his eyes, but he was more amused than anything else.
"Why don't you sit down for a bit before you try to do anything else? Worst case scenario, we leave cleanup for the morning."
He reached for the other's hand and buried his head in Adam's chest.
"It's been a loooong day," he complained.
"Actually, I'll have a cup of coffee and then we can get going," Minori said as she looked around the kitchen for a cup. Plastic or even glass worked. After a couple of moments of searching, she found the bag of red plastic cups. She grabbed a cup and poured some coffee into it. She took a sip and looked at Leon.
"The party was wild. But then again, it's not really much of a surprise. Adam does throw the best parties. You know, for a moment, I actually thought you had left me here and went home."
“Hell no, dude,” Leon mumbled, leaning up against the counter. She paused slightly when she heard another person’s voice at the door, but continued when she heard the familiar mumble of Tohru.
“I keep my promises,” she said, raising her eyebrows with a sigh. “I was just walking Reily out. That dude gets… so hammered. Collin needed help pouring him into the car. I left you up in the beanbag chair, figured a nap would do you good.”
With tired eyes, Lee glanced down to her phone, squinting at the bright light. “God, it’s late. Might wanna ask Adam if we could crash here but I really don’t wanna be a burden. Maybe we could help him clean up in the morning? As compensation or whatever.”
Adam smiled and kissed the top of Tohru's head, "Whatever you say. We can talk about this loooong day in here in the living room. I'm a bit, uhm, dizzy at the moment."
He started off to the couch, keeping hold of Tohru's hand, chuckling slightly. Tohru had always looked out for Adam, kept him safe. Adam was crazy, and he depended on Tohru for grounding. He thought it was funny how different they were, but how much he loved him.
"Oh, come on," Tohru laughed, giving Adam's hand a squeeze, "I deal with drunks all evening once I get out of class. You know how people are."
He took in a deep breath as he came to the couch with Adam and caught a whiff of the coffee.
"Mm, that smells nice. I'll get us some, you just wait here."
He brushed his hand over Adam's knee and flashed him a smile.
Once Tohru got in the kitchen, he saw Leon and Minori. He continued to the cabinet to grab mugs. He opted for a plastic one for Adam, as he wasn't entirely sure how drunk the other was.
"Hey there," he said as he placed the mugs on the counter, "How was the party?"
