"Mhmm." Liese started on her homework when Vira left the room, sighing softly to herself. I'm awful at this…
Vira came out a few minutes later looking a lot calmers. She sat down on her bed and pulled out her now broken lapti and her little case of tools.
"Less homesick now?" Liese asked, flipping the page of her homework so she could keep working on it.
Vira nodded. "A bit." She didn't look up from her laptop. This might actually be a good distraction.
Liese nodded as well and returned to her work, figuring that she didn't need to talk anymore now that Vira wasn't crying.
Vira stayed focused. Occasionally glancing over at Liese. She actually slept that night but not until really late.
Liese went to bed early, as per usual. She huddled up under the covers and fell asleep soon after.
Vira woke up after only a few hours of sleep. Getting ready just like she did before.
Liese got ready quickly in the morning, gathered her things, and headed off alone to her first class.
Vira left shortly after. Sitting down in her usually seat beside Liese. They ahere going to have to present their projects.
Liese sighed softly when she and Vira were eventually called up to present their project. She was quivering once she was up in front of the class and seemed unsure what to do with herself.
Vira presented Liese's slide first. Smiling a the class and speaking without stuttering. She was always good at presenting and public speaking. It was like putting on an act. She new that Liese was probably not feeling the same so she tried to take up a good chunk of the time before glancing at her.
Liese fidgeted with her sleeves as she presented Vira's slide, her voice quiet and wavering. She didn't often talk to her classmates, and she clearly hated public speaking with a passion. Her face was flushed by the time she was allowed to sit back down and her heart was pounding.
"You did good," Vira whispered as the next group was getting ready. She smiled softly trying to reassure Liese. She took out her notebook.
Liese sighed shakily and started scribbling on a page in her journal to relieve some of her stress, still tapping one foot on the floor while she did so.
Vira turned her attentio fully to the new pair. The class ended after only a few more groups. Furig their break Vira sat under the same tree her and Liese sat under on the first day. Sort of hoping Liese will come and sit with her.
Liese sat down underneath the tree with Vira, remaining silent as she continued scribbling in her journal. She still seemed pretty uneasy.
Vira smiled at Liese. "I liked working with you." She smiled and leaned against the tree pulling out her own homework.
"Mm…" Liese sighed softly. "I, um… I don't like presentations…" She murmured. "It's the worst…"
Vira nodded. "Yeah I could see that but I liked actually working on the project." She wrote some things down.
Liese shrugged a bit and kept scribbling. Considering the dozen other pages filled with scribbles, this seemed to be a common habit of hers.
"Drawing anything specific?" Vira asked looking down at Liese's notebook. Seh finished up her first classes homework.
"Scribbling…" Liese mumbled. "Helps me relieve stress…" She kept scribbling on the page with her pen.
Vira noded. "Sounds calming." She looked back at her notebook.
Liese shrugged a bit. "I guess… kinda destroys the notebook, though." She continued scribbling.
"Yeah I can also see that." She crossed her legs and looked up from her notebook. putting it down next to her. She closed her eyes.
Liese fidgeted a bit, still seeming uneasy. "Sorry if I fucked our grade on the thing or whatever."
"No it should be fine. If she docks points off for you being nervous ill fight her on it," She said half joking. "It's not your fault and you did fine. Still went up there and presented."
"Mm…" Liese closed her notebook and held it close to her chest. "Never liked talking to people in general, much less in front of the whole class…"
Vira nodded. "Yeah. I like Presenting things," She said Turnign her head t face Liese.
