(it's okay actually. It's cool to read since I like your writing style, mine just won't be as long if that's okay)
In the middle of his tantrum, Sasha decided he was going to leave the party, even if it meant walking home. He'd managed to fit himself pretty weirdly in the cabinet under the sink, and rather than being able to exit the cabinet he ended up making a lot of loud noise as he complicated his situation more.
"Ah, fuck," he whined, one of his arms now tangled with the piping.
(Oh it's fine, I don't expect long responses. Tried to keep this one shorter, and will be continuing my best to keep them shorter.)
Eugene's temporary absence of worry ended as he heard a sound from the bathroom the wasn't normal. That was the last straw. He jumped up from the floor and went to the bathroom, concern evident on his face. Knocking on the door, he hoped everything was okay. "Heyy. Are you good in there?" He asked, hopefully loud enough to hear over the loudness of the party.
Sasha froze for a second and stopped crying, the remaining tears streaking down his face.
God, should I just reply?
"I'm kinda stuck?" he replied, hoping he was loud enough for the person outside the door to hear.
Eugene heard a small voice, he wasn't completely sure what was said. "Um… do you need any help in there?" He asked. That wasn't a situation-specific response so he thought it worked for whatever the other had said.
Sasha sat in silence for a second, desperately trying to untangle his arm from the piping. It definitely wasn't coming out without some help.
"Help would be nice, yeah," he squeaked-this response louder than his last-, whilst opening the cabinet door so the stranger would be able to see he was clearly under the sink.
(So I won't be active for the next week or two. I just need a small break. Sorry about that)
(That's fine, I get it.)
((Aaahhhhhhhh!! So did I kinda forget about Notebook? Maybe. That took a lot longer than I ever thought, I sincerely apologize. I won't be super active still though, at least not as active as I was before the unexpected hiatus. Once again, I'm very sorry about that.))
(It's fine! Everyone needs breaks at times. c:)
(Thank you so much! I'll try to reply soon :)
(Late reply but take as much time as you need to, lol)
With a breath, Eugene opened the bathroom door and looked around, confused for a second. But not much later he saw the open cupboard below the sink. His eyes grew and he went over to the sink, closing the door behind him "Wow. This is impressive. How did this happen?" He asked with a small laugh.
"Unnatural flexibility assisted by a large fear of people," Sasha replied, still attempting to yank his arm from the piping. The fact he'd allowed a stranger into the bathroom where he could easily get beat up made his heart race, and his flight response was kicking in, meaning he was only further hurting his arm.
"You uh, wouldn't happen to know if Kyle is still here, would you?" he asked, a nervous tone in his voice as he avoided eye contact and continued pulling on his arm.
Eugene nodded to himself, listening to the other boy's explanation. "Umm… I'm not sure. As much as I am invited to these parties by people, I still don't know everyone. Sorry about that." He watched as the other tried to get loose from the pipe with a curious look.
"Can I help you get loose from there somehow?" He asked, studying the pipe and arm in question.
"Well, you can join me in yanking on my arm," Sasha said, "Or you can figure out if these damn pipes unscrew from each other. I mean, they're PVC so they should unscrew, but I'm not sure where they unscrew at."
Sasha leaned back against the side of the cupboard and let out a long sigh as he finished speaking, allowing his free arm fall to his side.
Eugene's eyebrows furrowed, glancing from the other's arm to the pipes. He kneeled down to get a better look. He didn't know the first thing about pipes or even what PVC was. This was definitely going to be interesting. He had not expected this to be what he had to help with.
"Please tell me you know what PVC pipes are," Sasha said, his voice replacing his nervous tones with more whiny ones. "I can't die under this sink surrounded by strangers. What happens if someone comes in here and needs to pee? Do you know how awkward that would be?"
Eugene glanced away, embarrassed. "Well, um… I don't actually know what PVC pipes are. But I do know that you won't die under the sink. If we have to I'll get a saw or something to cut the pipe." He said with a small smile.
"I hope a saw isn't necessary," Sasha lightly chuckled. "There should be like a nut-kinda thingy on the pipes which you can unscrew, but I can't see or comfortably reach wherever it is for the pipes that have me stuck."
Sasha was doing his best to look calm as he spoke to this stranger, but his mind was racing. Holy hell this dude probably hates me. He could be enjoying the party but instead, he's stuck here tending to my stupid ass.
Eugene giggled and started looking around for what fit the description. For a while, he couldn't find anything, but he eventually did. "Sorry this is taking so long. I only know baking, cooking, and volleyball, nothing with plumbing or anything of the sort." He smiled and started unscrewing and eventually it came undone.
At least in here was being helpful. Out there, he was basically just a part of the wall.
"Well, maybe you can make me apology cookies providing we ever see each other again," Sasha smiled, maneuvering himself from the cupboard as he spoke. "Thanks for the help. Mind giving me a ride home while you're at it? I honestly don't think I'll be finding Kyle any time soon, and if he's still here, I don't think I want to."
Sasha's bones could be heard popping as he brushed any dust from his clothes and looked himself up and down in the mirror.
"Well, since we know each other now, I bet we'll spot each other at school or something. The universe has a strange tendency to throw people that know each other together if they've just met. But helping you out of this and giving a ride home seems like it would be more than enough of an apology. Don't ya think?" Eugene asked with a smile. Of course, he would actually be thrilled to bake something for someone other than his family.
Gene stood up as well, watching the other. "Also, it just might be helpful and nice to know each other's names, you know? I'm Eugene Pierce."
"NIce to meet ya, Eugene. I'm Alexander Hammond, but people call me Sasha," he responded, opening the bathroom door as he spoke. "And I suppose the cookies aren't a necessary apology since I'll just eat ice cream when I get home. Although it'd be great if one day cookies just magically appeared in my home so I could make ice cream cookie sandwiches."
As Sasha stepped out into the hall, he noticed most everybody had gathered in a circle to play Spin the Bottle and fake-gagged at the sight.
"Gross. I don't even want to know how many STDs are in that circle combined," he said, looking back at Eugene, hoping what he'd just said was the slightest bit funny.
"A pleasure to meet you, man." Eugene said before they left the bathroom. He definitely planned on making Sasha a batch of cookies. As he exited the bathroom behind Sasha, he also spotted the circle, Sasha being a good representation of Eugene's inner thoughts. Hearing the other's comment, Gene laughed, quickly covering his mouth to not disturb the game.
Sasha quickly scanned the circle for Kyle's face but had no luck.
"Ugh, dude is probably upstairs doing God knows what," Sasha muttered to himself, trying to make his way to the front door quickly enough to avoid getting pressured into joining the circle. Upon opening the door, a blast of cool air hit him. It was refreshing, and a scent reminiscent of fall was entwined with it. "Is it supposed to be chilly tonight? I don't really check weather reports,"
"You know, I don't either. Let's just say it is supposed to be." Eugene said while pulling on his jacket that he had taken from the closet before they got outside. "In any case, my car's this way." He started walking down the driveway. He had parked about a block away in case the cops were called to shut down the party.
"Please tell me your car has working heat," Sasha said, following closely after Eugene, "I'm not cold, just… chilled. Finely chilled like uh, deli meat. I think deli meats are finely chilled? Finely probably shouldn't precede chilled," he muttered to himself.
He stopped for a second and leaned down to pick up a stick which he could drag along the sidewalk. "Just how far is your car, exactly?"
