Blaine forced a smile onto her face as she said 'goodbye' to the last customers. Thank goodness it was the end of the day, now she could sit down for a bit and rest her aching feet. Business had been good today. There had been so many customers that she was almost always busy, so she hadn't had a chance to sit down for a few hours.
She leaned on the front desk with a sigh of relief after having locked the doors.
"I'm exhausted," she said wearily.
"I didn't push him, he just latched around my legs and I couldn't keep walking. I was gentle with him. I can be gentle you know," Venus snapped at Ender before chugging the water. "Sorry," she said once she had drained the bottle. "It was kind of annoying. The kid was cute though," she admitted.
Ender smiled and rolled his eyes. "Really…"
Venus sneered jokingly at him and walked over to stand beside Blaine.
"Hey," Blaine greeted Venus with a nod. "You just as worn out from all that as I am?"
"I sure am!" Ender called.
"Oh yeah," Venus said, still kind of watching Ender. She turned her full focus to Blaine after a second. "Yeah, I'm beat."
Blaine noticed Venus looking at Ender and smiled knowingly.
"Mm. Maybe you and Ender want to go get everyone something, eh?" she suggested with a raised eyebrow.
Ender squinted at her. (cus hes clueless) "Okay?"
"Go to, like, McDonald's or something," Blaine directed. Turning to everyone else, she asked, "That good with everyone?"
"Uh, sure…" Venus blushed, her face nearly matching the color of her fiery orange hair now.
Ender nodded. He grabbed his backpack. "Come on Venus!" He called as he strode to the door.
Blaine chuckled at Venus's blush and Ender's obvious oblivion.
"Don't take too long! I'm starving!" she called after them.
"Do you want to drive?" Ender asked as they neared the car.
Venus snagged her backpack too and followed Ender, barely able to suppress her grin. She shot Blaine a look over her shoulder. 'Thank you! But also HELP!!!!!'
"It doesn't matter. I guess I will Mr. Always-Late-Stuck-In-A-Traffic-Jam!" Venus nudged him with her elbow.
Blaine smiled as she texted Venus, seeing the look she shot her.
Just talk to him. Be yourself.
Ender giggled. "Okay I'll drive." He slid into the front seat started the car.
Venus looked at the text from Blaine and smiled.
I'll try. What do you want?
Cheeseburger and fries, Blaine responded. And I expect a full report when you get back.
"So…" Ender started. He wasn't very good at conversations. "How's school?" That was stupid they were in the same classes.
10-4, Venus sent with a quiet giggle. She slipped her phone into her backpack.
"Um… good," Venus replied, unsure of what to say next.
(What song should come on the radio that they both like?)
(Idk….Bohemian Rhapsody?)
(Do you like the band Flyleaf?)
(Ender does a mean Scottish accent though…)
(Ok, there doesn't have to be a song. I just thought that it would lighten the mood or something idk…)
(Also, listen to Flyleaf. Chasm, Arise, and Again. Good band, good songs.)
