And at that, Rowan burst into tears, the hot drops of water running down his face. He just wanted to find a good place to read than get home, now he was in a dragon's cave because he was kidnapped.

Ekon was confused in what was coming of his mate's eyes. It was like he was raining from them. He didn't like how upset the boy was and craddeled him to his chest. "Mine….safe." He murmured.
Rowan just wailed like a small child, still sobbing. He was just overwhelmed and being an overwhelmed person with anxiety was not the most fun, at any times.
Ekon tried to comfort his mate the best he ckuld but he couldnt understand what was wrong. He jusyed held him tightly.

Rowan was quiet for a moment, his tears dried as he stared at Ekon. "I don't get it." He gave a shaky breath as he muttered the words.
"Mine. Mate." Ekon breathed in his scent. His chest rumbled, almost like a purr. He smiled brightly.
"But what makes you so sure?" Rowan raised an eyebrow, switching into his favorite thing to do, debate. Remeber what mother taught you about it.
Ekon just sniffed his hair. He loved his mate's scent. It was deliciously appealing to him.
"That did nothing to answer my question." He muttered under his breath, rubbing away the dried tears on his cheeks.
Ekon sniffed his hair again. "S-smell." Yes, that sounded right. He beamed brightly and gave his mate a small squeeze.
Rowan scrunched his nose. "So, dragons identify their mates by scent?" If he wasn't so terrified he would be writing this all down, however, his terror was slowly ebbing away. The dragon didn't seem to want to hurt him…
