Ekon had been searching for years for a mate. Fresh out of his childhood he had set out in search, but no such luck. Years had passed and his nights grew miserable. He would wail his mating call each night, hoping one day, that someone would answer. But no one ever has. Over the years Ekon had begun to grow his nest in preparation. He made sure there was somewhere good sleep and gadgets he had picked up on. He would spend his time in his nest moving and rearranging everything. He wanted to show his mate that he could take care of them. When something was particularly tricky to move, he would morph into a human-like body, but not quite. There were several difference between him and a mortal man. One day, when Ekon felt too sad to leave his nest, he smelt something in the wind. His giant head perked up as he sniffed. It was a delicious scent. He slowly crawled forward, trying to find where it was coming from. Who it was coming from. And he wanted them.

Rowan had been sitting outside of his family's new home, up in a tree, reading. He might have gone a bit further away from the house than he had meant and had gotten a bit lost. I needed to find the perfect spot, okay. Rowan justified to his own mind as he closed his book with a sigh. I needed to find the perfect place to read and now I'm as lost as an ant in a giants fortress. He rubbed his eyes and slipped his book into his bag, jumping down from the tree once it was secure. "I guess I should try and get home." He mumbled to himself, looking up at the rapidly darkening sky.
