Oh! I asked my stepdad how the Eurovision thing works for us. Basically, the UK, along with 5 other countries, don't have to have a semi-final like other countries do

That's because the UK, Spain, Germany, France and Italy are the "Big Five" so they get a free pass, just like the host country is automatically in the final.
